  1. I’m quite excited to be going back into battle with the same guys. Obviously, Keynan is one change, for his reasons mostly, which is fine and it’s certainly not closing the door on his Ipswich career. The next paragraph in Louis’ interview
  2. Louis found out how high his demands were last summer.
  3. After taking all the announcements that have come over the last couple of week in I have to say that the class of 25 looks great. Yes I was one of those who wanted to see us part ways with King & retain Rew instead. However Emil Jason & Tom should take the pressure off the rest so hopefully they can enjoy their speedway. Reading the interviews again last night I think it’s clear Danny was close to the exit door however something appears to have changed with Rew at the 11th hour & King kept his place. If the rumours about Rew wanting more than Louis was willing to pay is correct, that was a misjudgment on Rews part trying to force more more than Louis was prepared to pay when Louis in effect had 8 riders to fill 7 places. Hopefully we’ll see Rew back at Foxhall in the future & I wish him all the best. However I’m not certain if Belle Vue is the right place for him if that’s where he ends up. Roll on March!!
  4. How could Brum afford 3 go riders when budgeting on 500 attendance figures
  5. It’s taken Ipswich years to pin Doyle down to Foxhall as for Emil Louis saw an opportunity & went over time to get his signature over the line. Question is was there any other competition for Emils signature prior to 2023 or was it only Louis who was prepared to fight to secure him. Louis has certainly learned a lot over the past few years not that long ago our number one was a out of retirement Crump.
  6. The issue here is the sport simply isn’t popular enough. We have had 40 years of the product being watered down in terms of lowering points limits to try & even things out however that has been totally unsuccessful in halting the decline in attendance figures or the number of tracks operating. Granted some tracks have been lost to housing but that’s not the case for the vast majority. The only way to save this sport is a proper plan & a rebirth, it needs to become more popular to survive.
  7. To be honest it’s to far gone to save now, what are there 17 tracks now which half the riders in the top league doubling up/down. I had several years away after giving up on the sport & returned as an occasional supporter in 2016. To be honest the combo or Doyle & Emil got me back as a full time supporter to my local track Ipswich in 2023, I’ll be there again next year but I’m just going to enjoy it as long as those two are there.
  8. If the sport was ran properly in this country there would be more tracks around the fundamentals of the sport are broken. Football wouldn’t be the multi billion pound industry it is if it had been ran like speedway has been. That said speedway would never have a chance of being as big as football even if ran properly but don’t forget at one point it was the second biggest attended sport in the uk before the promoters cocked it up.
  9. Whatever team we end up with I’ll be there supporting them every week next season regardless if it’s the same side as 24 or with the addition of Brennan. I am one of those who wanted to see King replaced this winter & I know not everyone agrees but you pays your money and as a supporter you are entitled to an opinion. Personally I can only see Danny’s form dipping further next season we should done as Sheffield have with Howarth & said thank you for your service but it’s time for a change. The above doesn’t mean I’m not a true supporter & I will always get behind the riders that pull on the Witch. Now if Danny proves me wrong I’ll be the first to say I was wrong on here & take the stick for it. Lets see who the final 2 are over tje next few days!
  10. The problem is we might walk the league & finish top going into the play offs but then we have to beat Belle Vue at some point over two legs. We would have far more chance of that with Brennan for King. Overall if it is the same side as 2024 we can’t complain to much however we would certainly have missed a golden opportunity to strengthen with one change.
  11. All Rew would need to do is hold the inside then he bound to pass King as Danny will be on the wrong line out wide like he has been for the past couple of seasons! He waves the opponent passed on the inside coming out of bend 2 a fair bit
  12. If Rew is missing it’s got to be either he isn’t doing the UK or he wanted more than Louis wanted or could pay. Other than that it makes no sense to have King in place of Rew. We will find out in the next couple of days.
  13. If it is Brennan & not Rew then something clearly went wrong with Rew resigning. The comment from Danny could explain it as in his interview he wasn’t sure he’d be back. Truth be known we will never know though Rew Brennan & Ellis has more room for improvement than King Brennan & Ellis. wont be long until we find out.
  14. Normally I’d agree however we all know how hard it is to find a replacement for Doyle. No one of that calibre wants to ride the uk the only one that does is Emil. I’m sure that’s not the case & it’s either Brennan for Rew or the same 7.
  15. I’m sure something has changed late on, either Rew isn’t coming back or for commercial reasons Brennan is staying at Brum. If it’s the same 7 we know we’ll be competitive but as you all know I would have preferred to see one change Brennan for King. The problem with the same 7 is we will really struggle to beat Belle Vue over 2 legs & we will need to do that in the play offs to take the title. or could the unthinkable happen & Doyle isn’t coming back ?
  16. Speaking to someone who went to the dinner on Friday the vibe he got was that Ellis was signed. in that case either Rew isn’t coming back or Brennan isn’t coming. may things have changed in the last few days
  17. That’s explains why it’s dull & overcast outside. 😂
  18. Pulling the dirt back from the fence would be a start. It surely can’t that difficult?
  19. A reserve pairing & the return of Emil is great news I was always hopeful he would be back but nervous that he wouldn’t be. Doyle appears nailed on & hopefully Rew will return too. Now the King or Ellis debate. I’m definitely in the retain Ellis release King camp. I know that’s not popular with a lot however my reasoning is as follows. If King returns than that would certainly see him also retain the captains arm band & for me I don’t think he is skipper material. King can’t team ride for toffee & doesn’t support his team mates on track. The difference in bonus points scored last season between King & Ellis illustrates that. king is only going one way now & that decline will continue. Far to many times over the last couple of seasons King has been on the wrong end of heat advantages & losing out to riders he should be beating at home. Also throwing away points by riding the wrong lines & getting into trouble Ellis gives a little more in terms of team riding & does still have some improvement left in him. Ellis is the side would also see Doyle as captain & that can only be a good thing. My thoughts
  20. I’m one of the ones who thinks that there needs to be a parting of ways for many reasons, I’ve thought that for the last 2 seasons. While I agree there isn’t much between King & Ellis I’d still have Ellis. The biggest issue with King staying is that he’d be skipper again & he isn’t skipper material.
