  1. One too many injuries for me, also new owners need to be trying to find up & coming talent for the future
  2. Depends how big the cheque book is of the new owners
  3. If Ipswich come to tapes I can’t think of what go rider they are going to get over.
  4. Still no news or even a whisper of where track 5 is let alone track 6. Just over 2 weeks until the age.
  5. Still no news or even a whisper of where track 5 is let alone track 6. Just over 2 weeks until the age.
  6. No it’s comes down as a legal way to pay less tax on profit. Plenty of business people do this from small one man bands to big corporate multi nationals.
  7. In short if you own company A that is making a profit & company B your loss making speedway team you can transfer losses from the speedway team to your profit making company reducing the profit that company makes & also the amount of tax that you pay.
  8. If the rumours are correct that 2027 could see a cash injection of the back of work being done by speedway futures then that money needs using wisely. The best way would be to ensure as many tracks as possible are operating & that new riders are coming through. The sport needs to ensure the likes of Mildenhall & Eastbourne 2 venues with a history of speedway & tracks still in place need to be operational as league tracks. Then anything that can be done to get Coventry & Peterborough back. Two venues that are dormant same applies to Wolves. Then some good investment in bringing riders through. Speedway in this country is at the bottom it needs investment in infrastructure & assets to start rebuilding. Anything less & I give it 3-5 years before the final curtain falls.
  9. They all have other businesses outside of speedway so can afford to bank roll them. Also a loss making speedway club is quite good for tax reasons. If the Speedway is your only income & you risk bankruptcy because of a failed business model you’d look at things differently.
  10. Maybe that tells you that the people of Ipswich don’t feel let down, it’s the supporters of the other tracks that do.
  11. How can he reassure the supporters? For whatever reason something radical changed between the end of October & mid November that meant that he didn’t that he could or wanted to run Ipswich anymore. The statement put out when he announced it was going up for sale was clear enough. He isn’t running Ipswich in 2026 if a buyer can be found then it will carry on. He can’t guarantee he’ll find a buyer & as Louis isn’t going to run it in 26 no chance of being able to provide guarantees. Unlike the other promoters Louis doesn’t have other businesses that he can offset loses against. Louis seems to have put his family & financial security above running Ipswich speedway in a climate that could see him sustain losses that he can’t afford. Because of that he has my support because no one else on here would take a major gamble like that with no other income stream.
  12. Not making anything up. Sheffield had interest but no offers were forthcoming. They have now decided to seek other investment which appears to have been forthcoming. In Ipswich’s case it’s not about investment, Louis had all that he needed. For whatever reason he has decided speedway is no longer for him & therefore isn’t going to risk his future on it anymore.
  13. No because not only are the business models are completely different but so is the relationship to the community. You also have to factor in that whenever a football club is put up for sale it will always sell as it’s a investment. Sheffield have proven that no one will make an offer for a speedway club, Louis has had no offers. What is he supposed to do run it until his dying day?
  14. Who knows. Doyle seems to have said that he would only ride for Ipswich in the uk. Prior to his announcement of giving the uk a miss was happy to speak to new owners if it was someone he could work with. I suspect if it’s sold to someone local then it’s a possibility.
  15. We can but as an Ipswich fan I don’t feel let down & neither do any that I’ve spoken too.
  16. Not really. we know that unless the club is sold there is no speedway at Foxhall next year. These days a sale can be completed with him half away around the world. A little hard to report on anything when there is simply nothing to report. Sheffield were completely radio silent too. Up until last night. The sport is an absolute mess!
  17. Issue is Tolley is no where near as professional as Chris & the fans favourites & points scores are now ruled out or signed elsewhere. Personally I’d rather see Ippo sit 26 out than have tolley in charge
  18. It’s interesting. If anyone takes Ipswich over they will need at least 1 if not 2 to replace Emil & Jason. But then I can’t think of anyone else who would be interested in the UK
  19. If we are going to run surely there needs to be an announcement before Christmas of a buyer
  20. I’m pretty sure that has already happened. I’m sure someone on here can remember the rider involved.
