One thing is for certain the turnstiles are clicking, the opening two meetings have been staged in front of very healthy crowds!

We have just used the regulations & yes we have benefited from the Brit reduction, but we have built with 5 Brits. Other had the same rules to work with but chose other routes. Lets be honest whatever the regulations are Lynn historically build teams to challenge for last place 😂

Quite agree. We’re all well aware that things can go wrong after last season. So far this season the current reserves have been a major influence on the results while the top 2 get going.

I feel very lucky to be able to watch Emil & Jason week in week out not to mention 3 of the best young British riders out there. We’re also fortunate to have the most forward thinking & professional owner who gets great backing from local business. The future of the premiership at its current level could be in doubt if the rumours about Birmingham & now Sheffield having their stadium sold are true. Emil might choose not to ride in the uk after this season. I plan on enjoying the ride while these top guys are here. What makes it all the sweeter is knowing that there is one very bitter & jealous Belle Vue fan who can’t handle it!

Doyle is on record saying he doesn’t want to go anywhere else. Emil was a free agent prior to the 2023 season anyone in the uk could have signed him. Louis put in the time & effort to make that happen & by all accounts had to win over Emil’s manager to make that happen. Did any other UK promoter think outside the box to try & sign him? I doubt it but if they did then he chose Ipswich over the others. It now appears that Ipswich is the only UK club he would ride for.

It’s quite clear that Louis won’t pay over the odds as he let Rew go because Brum offered him a better deal. In the time that I’ve been attending Ipswich they have been the opposite to cheque book speedway. One thing Chris has done is turn a well run club in to a highly professional outfit. You only need to look at the way they are all kitted out even down to matching club chairs for the pits. As for Tom I think it was clear he wanted to move to Ipswich & who can blame him wanting to be part of the most professional outfit in British speedway. If only the others & the sport in general could match it.

They have tried this several times before & it doesn’t work because there are too many ways around it. Fair play rules don’t work in football either. For speedway to survive it’s needs to become a serious sport.

Possibly in the minority being an Ipswich supporter but I always thought there was a decent rider in Riss. He showed that tonight more points in 1 meeting than in a whole season with Ippo, almost half the Oxford score. As far as the Witches are concerned a win is a win & it bodes well so far 2 away wins without all firing.

Wishing Tai a speedy recovery & his family all the best as he recovers. It’s tragic especially given all the hard work put in to over come his elbow injury. It’s times like this that you realise how fortunate we are to follow this sport as the speedway family forgets club loyalty’s etc & rallies round to support Tai & his family. Could be a long hard season for young Rew especially after sharing the pits with Jason & Emil for the past 2 seasons.

I thought I’d start a thread for our first home meeting of the season. 10 points up from the first leg but we shouldn’t take anything for granted. Belle Vue have a decent record at Foxhall.

Unless the blue is copyrighted to one of the companies there is no excuse. Every colour & shad has a code so you can have identical colour matching. Possibly costs a little more but worth it for the overall look.

Anything interesting from last nights meet the riders? I assume King is skipper partnering Doyle at 2. Interesting to see Ellis on Godden Engines yesterday afternoon..

Dan Thompson is a huge talent, certainly impressive with Ipswich.

They have in the past had practice on 2 days so who knows, it would be a first if nothing happened tomorrow afternoon. I never understand why the club keeps it so secret when others advertise when their practice is.

Then in the first official meeting we all moan if a rider looks rusty or has mechanical issues.

I’ll never understand why Ipswich go straight into competition speedway rather than having at least 1 warm up meeting.

I don’t know about anyone else but no I don’t have any other sports package. I just refuse to spend anymore of my disposable income on the box in the corner. It’s getting out of hand. Middle of the road sky with Netflix plus Apple TV & Disney is plenty of expense on top of the tv licence fee.

Speedway along with winter sport will be disappearing from my screen as I am not paying an additional £30 a month on top of all the other tv related cost that I have.

The authorities deem it ok by the fact they aren’t bothered about it. The country is turning into a lawless cesspit so why abide by the rules around TV content?
