Crikey Moses, it ain't even mid April and already the Elite league so out of shape. The "elite" , yes inverted comments, is in a mess Coventry, Leicester, Kings Lynn (will be even worse without NKI) out of their depth - making a mockery of the word sport. so leaves 5 teams Belle Vue, Lakeside, Wolverhampton, Poole plus Swindon who have. Potential to do something - how the hell is this providing entertainment - no wonder why Sky are holding back. Elite league teams essentialy end up with 1 established rider, 1 rider reserve with potential to be the next best thing and 5 who could be the worlds greatest or worlds worse depending on which side of the bed they got up in the morning. Unfortunately us fans hope you have got up out of the right side of the bed - alas so often dis-appointed. Prima donna's who need to realise that without us fans, you don't earn a living in the uk -time a fair deal of the riders appreciate this fact. Hands on heart, fans attend giving 100% commitment - How many riders can agree doing the same - imagine not many. But do they care - no chance.

Shame on you Horton and Watson - my earlier 'tweet' gave you credit for a saving of 5 quid for student to come along to Brandon as I thought would be generous. Where the hell did a 12 quid reduction come from ! No wonder people are trying to abuse. And to think you gave up a concession to the loyal older ladies and gentlemen - you are disgrace you money grabbing b'stards. You need to appreciate they have kept you surviving for many a year ! Time you sucked up big time and over compensate for your actions. Come on Mick, don't be an a'hole like your brother Colin (or are you the same person ?). Us folk in Coventry have some integrity, perhaps you guys from the East of England are a different breed - time to show what you really made of.
-
holy moly - just read the latest on the "official" bees site of the student admission policy being withdrawn due to it being "abused". Horton and Watson - you so so desperate and obviously on a different planet. You need bums on seats big time - so a student coming in for say 5 quid less than the the normal 17 quid rate men's you get 12 pounds of income, plus the potential of a programme sale, bag of crisps, maybe a pie and if you lucky, a glass of Coke. Now, master or miss student are gonna give you a miss - especially with the rubbishe you putting on show at present. I fifty plus, and the student policy means bugger all to me. Come on guys, get a life ! My edit - for rubbishe please read. S H I T and E. - anything less does not emphasise how bad things are.

thanks mick for you for honesty , but at the end of the day you clueless - have you considered doing a Plymouth ? now means I know what I ain't doing on a Friday night in April. Was at Glasgow last Sunday and proud to be a Coventry Fan - how quickly has that changed ! Bees don't need riders who just turn up and not realising who they representing and not putting the effort in. great top two in KK and Mr Harris - the rest not worthy ! At this rate the final meeting at Brandon will be in August.
-
Been to Glasgow today - not a problem there - kids and youngsters in abundance. Adult admission £ 17.50, kids under 11 1 quid - programme 3 pounds. Meeting ran like clockwork, they have the 2 minute countdown clock on the start line, so no excuse to wait, wait, wait ! Promotion attempted to and succeeded, to get kids involved in various activities throughout the meeting at the natural gaps and interval to keep their interest throughout the meeting. ( kids got a free Easter egg on entry too ) All it takes is a little thought and not too much effort. Was so impressed with Glasgow speedway as a whole and full credit to them. As for the meeting, the track was (very) wet, but rideable and RACEABLE ! Some amazing fearless racing on great banked circuit By all 14 riders Crowd was large - so much so that the 50/50 draw presented 500 quid to the lucky ticket holder - alas not me ! thanks Glasgow ( and Bees) for making it a great day - prospect of 350 mile journey back tomorrow not so good though.

Glasgow V Coventry (challenge) 27th March 2016
markyb replied to george.m's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
An absolute pleasure today to see how Speedway should be run !!! Although up in the area visiting my son for Easter, once the fixture was announced, there was no way I was gonna miss this. however, was touch and go with the weather yesterday, all that was missing was Noah and his Ark -and on / off heavy showers before and during the meeting - but hey, 100 % given by ALL riders, providing fearless attempts to gain any point they could. Bomber exceptional once again, but a good win by AS against him in his first ride. Loved the track and the banking on the bends. Any plans for the new Coventry track should take this on-board imo. Home fans were very welcoming. Plus, seeing one of the two start/flag marshalls was almost worth the admission price alone !! A massive well done to promotion and management of the stadium, where you can see investment has already paid dividends and will no doubt for many years to come. A truly family oriented place to be on a Sunday afternoon and the presentation was ultra-slick, including the Involvement with the many youngsters present, with the "balls" after heat 4 and the many in the running race against Roary on the centre green at the interval. The giving of an Easter egg to the children on entry was also well received by My 10 year old daughter. Pity I can't be here next Sunday for the derby against Monarchs. I will be back though !!- 99 replies

Mr Gordon - I feel I must retract all the grief I given you and Mr Morton over the farce of last Saturday and I apologise profusely. You are quite right in saying you are NOT to blame. Of course it must be ME - having too many expectations and belief that the pair of you should have been given the credit of being able to provide a product which you claimed you could do. At the end of the day, perhaps you should consider going into selling double glazing - although it's a tough world out there guys and feel you would fail there too. Sleep well ! Sorry, any chance of a quote for the re-glazing of my conservatory.
-
So sad that you have so few expectations and low standards - although being a Belle Vue supporter I can well understand that from the many years of experience you encountered. As for the offer of the refund - very honourable of you. Thanks for it as a donation to the speedway riders benevolent fund instead - or has your 'consider' now gone away ?

Taken from official Belle Vue web site - SATURDAY 19th MARCH It is with great sadness and regret that tonight's Peter Craven Memorial meeting has had to be abandoned. Although the weather has been dry in the past week, the winter weather has played a significant part in tonight's proceedings and with safety being our number one priority there was no other conclusion but to abandon the meeting. We fully understand the frustration and disappointment of the many fans who travelled to witness tonights's season opener and must be wondering what happens next. A full statement with information for ticket holders will be made shortly Now 12.45 Monday 21st and still NO FULL STATEMENT (or even partial) . - Come on Morton and Gordon get you f'ing fingers out and attempt to make some sort of amends. Call yourselves promoters - yeah, you promoting how NOT to run a sport event you thieving gits . Shame on you both. No thanks -already made 1 too many visits to the new Belle Vue

Coventry V Poole Es Second Leg 18/03/2016
markyb replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Please be aware of probable difficulties in trying to park at Brandon tonight (and the Bomber do on Sunday) especially the late comers. American Circus with large big top has taken over a fair chunk of the parking area.. Strangely too there is a performance at 7.30 pm tonight. You've been warned ! -
Poole V Coventry Es First Leg 16/03/16

Yet again another year of manipulation of rules -yawn !!! -
Oops - so sorry I always forget the first and second loser in a meeting.

Bridger over Pedersen every time (and twice on Sunday) This from a British speedway supporter. Bjarne taken the urine so many times and just rewards for the waster in 2016. Has he ever had any talent ?
-
OMG - for once I am in total agreement with the things that Mr Shovalr writes - this time about Bjarne !!! The major words like "twilight', "past" and "was" fully sum up the rider in 2016 Welcome to the real world Steve - look forward to further sensible posts from you
-
BP has taken the mickey for too long on the British Speedway front. So glad we don't have to endure the waster again in 2016. Good luck to the other European teams who have to put up with him.
-
the demographic of the speedway "crowd" at a typical Coventry meeting will show a hefty contingent of the 65 plus age brigade who like me cling on to the memory of the times not so very long ago. Have noticed that NO concession (at Coventry) is being given in 2016 to those loyal warriors and are expected to pay the full 17 quid admission EVERY meeting. Horton and Watson - what you playing at ? It ain't rocket science to realise that a regular who was used to a concession ain't gonna attend on a regular basis going forwards - especially so with the inferior product in 2016 in terms of the "star" riders not being present. It ain't as though you have to employ extra security / crowd control measures. Just think to of the reduced revenue of a programme sale and the potential of the cup of tea / pint / pasty etc. I in my 50's so isn't gonna affect me - I already very selective in which meetings I attend and the value for money on offer - having been a die hard, never miss a meeting regardless, in my many years of following the sport. Am still a massive fan, but not chuffed at the way the hierarchy think they can 'mug' off folk who have provided their wealth over the years.
-
As a Coventry regular and supporter since 1976, am so chuffed that I can welcome back a "real" Belle Vue since the demise of Hyde Road team of all those years ago. A cracking line up too for 2016 - imo the team that everybody else has to beat. Hats off to the promotion for keeping strong and achieving the dream.
-
Come on Watson, tell your boss Horton to get his Arse* in gear and get Garrity signed up ! Hope you can imagine the backlash you will get if he signs anywhere else but Coventry. Coventry need Garrity more than Garrity needs Cov !
-
Never been impressed with mr arrogance Cook - probably due to never having him in mind as a Coventry rider. Despite this, reckon could be a tremendous coup and fantastic for both rider and club as a personal and country thing too. Imo it ain't gonna happen, but always surprised by what goes on in uk speedway. A British 1 to 7 would be fantastic - we don't need Jonny Foreigner to keep us entertained, just add Jason Garrity to the mix (including mr cook) and we will be alright. Ok we won't maybe set the world on fire, but to watch the potential of these riders giving 100% (in my book this is what I pay to see) would draw me in to watch and hopefully many more too. Harris, Cook, King, Sargeant, Bates - not bad Imo so far
-
Massive that Bomber back in 2016. Dreadful that Jonas gone to Wolves - believed him to be a definite ! No surprise now if Garrity not at Brandon next March. worried big time, but not as much as Mr Horton should be when the fans DONT turn up to when they could have seen a great show man, unless he puts hands in his pocket. Imo Coventry need Jason more than Jason needs Coventry.
-
Am so amazed by the negativity already. To me, Sarj and Bates offer a great facility at reserve and it's a hats off to both Mr Horton and Watson for this achievement (I have been the worlds worse for critism of Mick and Neil previously) Ok Jason becomes a 1 to 5 rider, but would rather have him riding for Coventry than any other team. The lad has massive potential and now has a chance to ride against 1 to 5 riders in each of his races. (Reminds me so much of Gary Gugliemi and remember how good he became when he had a chance to shine !) imo Garrity is the showman that British speedway needs - along though too with Kyle Newman, who both provide entertainment, spirit and effort that I hope real British speedway supporter appreciate and will continue to do so. happy days
-
Holy moly - just read that that Poole have signed the liability of Hans Andersen for 2016 - ha ha ha ! Well past his sell by date - spending too much time with his wife and kid and no longer has the bottle to ride speedway anymore ! Great move Mr Ford.for removing this Danish rubbishe from the breast plate from a more worthy club than he has ever deserved. Jason Doyle is the next Jason Crump - if not better ! Wherever he rides in 2016, and if in the UK, will be an amazing for that club.
-
Really chuffed that official Coventry bees site recognised his achievements. my son now based in Glasgow went along and had told me how good he was - but Sarj reprimanded and warned about his "electric" starts yet again - no proper tapes infringements. AGAIN.
