  1. Sat down at 5.45 and had no intention of watching anything more than the first 4 heats. Almost 3 hours later got up from my seat. A tremendous speedway meeting - made even better with the likes of Rosco and Scott, plus the presenter on eurosport with some great no holds barred comments. Reckon Pearson and Tatum were on something dodgy too, like a comedy duo in their commentary. The only sour point was the decision of Mr Laurence. Took the edge of the meeting, although with the number of race wins, Sweden didn't deserve to go through. (How they missed the likes of Lindgren and Lindback though - SVEMO, well done ha ha ) If the final is half as good, then will be a fantastic evening. Too close to call 100%, but concerned for the Danes with Korneliussen as that is the rumour. Reckon. Poland 1st, followed by Australia, then Denmark followed by England (whoops sorry, Great Britain) Happy days !
  2. Coventry tonight - the first race started at 6.58 pm. The 29th and final race of the evening ended at roughly 10.40 Almost 3 and 3/4 hours - what an absolute joke. The final 30th race did not run due to the Coventry curfew. No incidents, no medical staff called upon, no starting gate malfunctions, no air fence issues. Just poor inept and blasé actions by the so called Coventry promotion team of Horton and Watson. A fantastic night weather wise - but probably the lowest crowd I seen for a Storm meeting ( and there were 2 tonight ) reckon 500 people tops and that being generous. Based on tonight, no way I gonna waste time and effort in attending in the future as the "muppets" don't appear to want to make the effort themselves. I wonder if we will get another Horton apology for tonight. however he has apologised so many times this season, these are now worthless and Mick (or are you Colin in disguise) you been taking the Mickey of us fans for too long ! I must end with one good point about tonight - Tony Atkin winning heat 15 - well done mate - it was a pleasure and hope you enjoyed the reception the hardy Coventry souls gave you. I could tell the win meant a lot to you from your reaction. happy days !
  3. 9.12 pm and still no second match started. Will Horton charge again if meeting runs into a 2nd day - the words brewery, pis$ up, couldn't, organise, a & in spring to mind.
  4. Gonna be a long night. 90 minutes in and only on race 11. 20 to go. Absolute dross at the moment too Wish I had gone to b&q instead and bought some paint to watch dry instead.
  5. Another world class score for Craig Cook - whoops sorry, should have said second class score from Craig Cook. Good job he ain't let loose in the World Cup - he would be right out of his depth there !
  6. Hey man- stop being so defensive for the prima donna. Last Monday, mr fast track Garrity beat the likes of Thorsell and Wells - a feat that Cook could not repeat. Just face it - unless Cooky faces premier league opposition or lower (as he did mainly in the British final) he is completely outclassed and makes himself look a right muppet. Rosco can see that too ! Happy days
  7. Mr blobby, what the hell you on ! You seem as comedic as you name suggests. Couldn't give a sh@te about mr self righteous Cook - more worried about British Speedway Tonight tells a tale. 9 plus 1 from 4. Or. 3 plus 1 from 4. - no brainer ! Okay, it ain't the way forward and we should be building for the future, but am staggered and didn't really appreciate how poor we are as nation to support the pseudo Aussie woffinden and the true Brit bomber. Feel so flat after being on such a high at Cardiff on Saturday ! Not gonna waste my time and effort going to Kings Lynn ( the cost factor is insignificant ) Rosco - i feel for you - hope i completely wrong and comes good for you ! Happy days
  8. whoops ! Time for Mr Cook to throw his teddy out of the pram again. However on his showing in the GP on Saturday am not surprised he has been left out of the team proper.
  9. Only decided to come attend as late yesterday afternoon and have come across to Cardiff this morning with my 8 year old daughter On the train from Coventry. Bought 2 tickets from the touts outside the stadium at about 11.45 - although no price on them as they 'bsi complimentary' but are 80 quid each. Row 8 on the upper level about 10 seats just left of the starting gate. paid 80 quid the pair. Now 4.10 and atmosphere building nicely. All I need now is for Smolinski to win ( silly 5 quid bet at 66/1 ) However routing for NKI Be good to see Garrity get one ride ! Enjoy all. !!!
  10. Hey Batch, from a Cov fan, feel gutted you didn't get what you deserved. Hopefully now you got the confidence to know you can beat them all. Good luck to you Troy.
  11. Over the course of the whole evening Tai was the best rider and well deserving of his British Championship.. So he didnt win all of his races, but he won the one that mattered However, for his gardening, be right or wrong, I feel the "spirit" of the sport suffered. Should a directive be issued straight away as to it being allowed / not allowed so all riders have an equal chance. It might be that a shovel and watering can become as much of a part of a riders essential equipment like the steal shoe is, going forwards !. Happy days
  12. Yet again the promotion are rubbish@Ing them themselves about fans producing their own racecarda. For this evening. They know what the riding rider cuz they got programmes printed. Are they really so desperate to take, the Mickey out of us fans. Of course they are! Hang you heads in shame Horton and Watson - reckon it will come back to haunt you for sure ! Regards the grim reaper !!
  13. Confused.com Sheffield own web site shows the result vs. Berwick and team scores with r/r accredited to Ty Proctor ! So where all this Roynon ban,no ban (kelvin) mullarkey coming from ? - now there is a name from the past !
  14. if if an Health and Safety issue then you can't argue with that can you. Can you ? But who decided it was an Health and Safety issue, the HSE themselves or is if just some sort of excuse that smells like bull. Come on Swales,Horton Watson - stop treating the people that earn you a living like idiots ! What is wrong with you guys ? Why not give us more details. Otherwise how can you be trusted to provide a meeting for us in the future. It used to be down the the weather, but now you seem to have your own set of excuses. Almost like network rail and "wrong kind of leaves" scenario. Horton and Watson - have a look at the word "promotion" in the dictionary. The pair of you so far this season, what with p'boro and coventry debacles may need for the boffins In Oxford to re-assess the word. Happy days !
  15. Shame for Luke in heat 15. Thought Morley had a bit of a flyer and could have been brought back - (but not as much of a flyer as a charged up Sarjeant in an earlier heat after the starting Marshall got him to shift his bike across the gate - that not brought back either) Reckon too that Luke put down to avoid the out of shape Morley on bend 3 too - but that just my opinion. Team spirit seems great. . RTD coming round to give Sarj a lift back to the pits plus Knuckey coming out to see how the unfortunate Nielsen was after his bounce off the fence. Good on you lads! Keep up the great work. Have to agree as well with the earlier comment about the pace of the night. All over by 9.20pm and that even after RTD trying out a bike and then the Bronze helmet match race. Well run meeting. By the way, which bar can I get a pint of the stuff which Yorkie must have been drinking ? Losing it or what !!
  16. I remember the days of Dudley wood and our supporters coach being "stoned" by the cradley "fans" Was a regular thing ! Blamed on the West Bromwich Albion football supporters (that great footballing team who have won so much - ha ha) This back in the 80's. - remember the great Garry Gugliemi getting his first rides for coventry as our number "8" Nothing changed in the behaviour of the fans although probably now the children/grand children of the "Marvellous" few. No sympathy any more about your lack of stadium - however was a great supporter of Dan McCormick and believe speedway On the whole is better for experiencing a guy like him ! (As an add-on, for what it is worth, have some great memories of Dudley wood and the golden hammer meetings. Struggling to get a vantage point in the stadium cus it full to the rafters. The likes of doug Wyer, Dave jessop, ole Olsen and of course Bruce penhall , They were the great times. We as fans are mugged off big time now !
  17. When Scunthorpe raced against coventry storm the other week I was so full of praise for the efforts put in by.the Scunthorpe riders - even though they got trounced and posted as such on the forum. Seeing today's score, unfortunately feel that they could be killing National League speedway. Now have to think twice about the level of speedway on offer when two national league teams meet ! At coventry they only charge 10 quid to get in and free for my 8 year old Daughter which is fantastic value for money (sometimes !) But the major factor is giving up 2 to 3 hours of my "social" time. Normally it is well worth it - but how the hell can I judge. Sorry Scunthorpe riders/management/fans (if any exist apart from family members and girl friends) - pull the plug now ! Await the normal rubbishe responses !!! Too right they are and will kill the league if they continue !!!
  18. The obvious being that they are Cradley ? Heathens by name and nature. Like "in the olden days".
  19. Was not aware of Colin Pratt being there - hail the king !
  20. Thoroughly enjoyable GP and well worth getting up early for. That final lap of the final race made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Surely the winner is as surprising as Jerzy Szczakiel in the 73 world final Well done Martin Smolinski - isn't he still a coventry asset ? Well done Eurosport gb for your part of the coverage. Good to hear Scotty Nichols and his honest observations. speedway GP makes formula 1 car racing look so boring in comparison ! - must add I hope Darcy not too badly hurt and in the next GP line-up FInally, domestically my thoughts are with Daryl Ritchings for a speedy recovery - good luck to you kid for your future career in speedway !
  21. After the debacle of the Cradley meeting a couple of weeks ago I declared that I was finished with attending Coventry meetings and especially the Storm. I so full of bullsh@t as I went along tonight. Forget the score line - I really enjoyed it and so impressed with the track craft of ALL of the Storm, but also the enthusiasm and efforts of the Stags - keep plugging on guys. The track looked amazing and the improved banking seemed highly visible to me. It also remained rut-less for the whole evening - No real fast times 63.4 upto 67.something, I had been highly critical of the Polish track curator and also Sandhu and his intentions - but on vision alone looking good. How it fairs as a proper RACING circuit we will have to wait and see.
  22. It anybody wants the benefit of the 4 quid that Horton and Watson are giving, then please send me your address and I will send you my re-admission ticket and even give you the price of the stamp for free. Am so sorry for the young guys of the Storm who have so much enthusiasm - but for me, I now had enough.
  23. Yeah you dealing with the Horton brothers (?) here though - peas in a pod as they say. When was the last time Colin and Mick been seen together - coincidence or spooky !
