I read on the coventry bees web site that details of the 'discount to be applied' on production of their re-admission tickets for a future NL meeting will be provided in due course - in accordance with the (BSPA) regulations. That means I gotta pay the "muppets" some more of my money again in order to get a concession. Nah- don't think so ! They made a fortune last night in the track shop, endless queues at the refreshment/food areas and the 2 quid they charge for two sheets of a4 paper with a staple in the middle they call a 'programme'. This promotion have taken the pis# too often over the last few years and may come to regret it. If anybody wants my re-admission ticket - let me know and will willing send.

Watson and Horton hope you sleep well tonight ! Call yourselves speedway promoters - tonight's farce was anything but promoting ! After heat 4 and a crash, 10 minutes later it was announced that grading needed to take place. 25 minutes later the grading began. Heat 4 re-run, then heat 5 and the all important heat 6 - the point of no return for the paying public (unless things have changed) All of a sudden a conference and the supporters left sitting in the cold again like idiots for many more minutes where ultimately the meeting not surprisingly called off. The riders safety is paramount and have no problem with the decision. Watson and Horton - you employ peter York who has a roving microphone - why not think of the supporters and let us know what's going on. You had a Tenner from me tonight - but you ain't gonna get many more from me for a while you muppets. Happy days Must say however, I did have some entertainment tonight from your new 'man in the box' announcer. If he was a Mickey take, then good on you and if he announces on Sunday for the elite riders then the crowd are in for a treat - for the cringe worthy things he comes out with.

God help us if Branford back in uk for 2014. Just a cocky upstart who happened to come good on one night in 2013, Having seen his spoilt kid attitude riding for the coventry Storm last year, uk don't need him. Just read on speedwaygp.com referring to him as a teenage sensation . What utter rubbish !!!

As the saying goes " good point, well made Barbara " Oh, I love this forum for winding people up. Roll on March and tapes up - if only this bloody rain stops ! Thank you (muchas cracias)

Yeah, but he a second rate premier league rider - and paying in less than he is getting out. Just another Aussie Criminal decedent coming back for revenge ! Why not stay in Aussie and come back once he healed. As for Brujas Espanalos ( message above ) the name says it all. Nothing wrong with the daily mail. I guess you abusing the UK rules too Happy days. Sorry shouldn't say abusing the rules as no doubt you only taking what you are allowed !! Welcome to Great Britain - without the Great anymore unfortunately !! Still Happy days !!

I read that Heeps coming back to the uk earlier than planned as he requires further surgery. Is that so he can benefit from the expertise of the doctors and surgeons in the uk OR cus be can sponge off the British tax payer and get a free medical treatment. Not rocket science to work out which one !! sick to death of Johnny Foreigner -

Whoops- just been advised by my son that I should apologise to the female members of the forum. I should have referred to those in the employ of the Speedway Star magazine. I can feel a ban coming on ! Well whatever, if the truth hurts then so be it. Good luck speedway - a minority sport that needs real help and guidance. (Tai woffinden , minority sportsman of the year in some region of the uk !!! - was it Smethwick or some other obscure region of the uk ?)

Sorry probably WO man !

Have been a popular reader of the "free" feeds on the APP sites for speedway star and almost at a point of signing up to the regular weekly FULL download.recognising the saving vs the hard copy price. Although do remember paying just 12pence in the 70's for the same. However, was reading the story of the magnificent Garry Stead (wow what a guy) and then finding that for the final part of the story I have to purchase the subscription. Well I will buy the hard copy, but no way I gonna subscribe now. Garry Stead- you a perfect bloke and sorry to bring you in to this rant. Hope you have a great rest of life with your friends and family, Speedway star, you can swivel

Bbc Sports Personality Of The Year
markyb replied to Grand Central's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
What a firkin joke. Speedway is a minority sport big time - and whilst woffy done real good, hardly worthy of a uk sports personality ! Speedway bosses should be spending their time and money sorting out their own sport rather than criticising the bbc. Time to get real guys . -
Just back from a thoroughly entertaining meeting, so it took 2 hours, but for once it was great to be outside for that amount of time. Worthy win for Isle of Wight and Adam Elllis exceptional talent. His winning time in heat 9 was 61.8 seconds, a new national league record. For Storm, some fearless riding from Olly Greenwood and James Sergeant. Only slight negative was Robert Branford throwing his dummy out of his pram (not for the first time though !) Purposely rode his bike into the air fence, fully upright, after being relegated to third at the end of heat 13 leaving it wedged (still upright) in the fence. Could see a member of the track staff was as angry as I felt about it too. Grow up Branford !!!!!! You only British under 21 champion and not world champion. Stop acting like a prima Donna.

After the unfortunate weather for the last home meeting, and for me to say never again, am so much looking forward to tonights encounter with isle Of Wight. My 7 year old daughter is smitten by young Ryan Terry-Daley (has his photo as her I-phone home screen) so she pleased he is riding for the Storm tonight. Track hopefully will be in pristine condition - and the weather will hopefully bring out speedway fans in plentiful numbers. For 10 quid, where else do you get so good entertainment these days ? And the free kids is a massive marketing ploy too. Interested to see Adam Ellis and how good he really is ? Although Storm have greta talent for the future too. After last nights debacle with the GB world cup team, my god do we need talented British riders !! Cheers Mark

Just read that Martin has stood from Storm due to personal and financial reasons. Another entertainer lost from the sport ! Good while it lasted All the best
-
Hey Martin, hope you read the forum If points were awarded for 100% effort, you would get 12 point maximum every week! Could see you were so frustrated last Friday after you 3rd ride fall -kicking your bike won't help mate ! But good to see so much passion I guess ! Carry on as you are and it will come good. You worthy of the admission price alone and my seven year daughter gets excited to see you (but also Ryan Terry-Daly, but sorry to say its his photo she got on her I-phone home page) All the best mate

Sad as it may sound, so looking forward to this Friday meeting between Coventry and Mildenhall. Not since my teenage years of Olsen, Molyneux and Shirra (I guess even Gugliemi too later on) have I been so interested in going along to my local track just 3 miles from where I live. I have mentioned before about my 7 year old enjoying the sport and she anxious to come along to her 3rd successive Storm meeting. my 22 year old son, for whom we used to travel around the country watching the bees (great memories of panthers meetings too) is also very keen again after seeing his first Storm meeting against Stoke. My old man (78) might even be tempted again - he moaned as always but think deep down he enjoyed it (he as a Brandon born lad and painted the inner white line in the 1950's !) So that's maybe 40 quid in your pocket mr Horton and a freebie for the future. Will shake you by the hand if you interested on Friday night. The best thing to happen with Coventry and speedway in the last few years. Hope the weather is as good as forecast and you get a decent gate and superb track to match Great team you have got together and some superb guys trying hard (especially Martin Knuckey) Good luck guys

Coventry Storm V Stoke Potters .. Friday May 31st 8pm
markyb replied to Main Man's topic in National League Speedway
My first venture to national league racing at coventry and will not be my last. Great entertainment and good racing too. Took my 7 year old daughter to her first speedway meet and she said "dad can we come again" Well impressed with the attitude of joe Jacobs in shutting off on lap 4 bend 4 to allow James sergeant his full maximum. (Good on you joe !) Credit to mick Horton and what was/is a gamble, but hey more like Friday's meeting And people spreading the word will hopefully repay your effort. Mention to about Martin Knuckey, 100 percent trier and was rewarded for it. Pity about 2 minute exclusion for his 4th ride -

What an absolute joke ! They certainly took the 'Great' out of Britain.
