Well hopefully all now goes well. Hope Martin Philips is gone completely, hope George hangs around to help Granty through the coming season and then Rob can be his own man thereafter. Would like to recognise and thank Andrew Dalby who has done more than anyone in the last couple of years to keep Newcastle going without the credit he deserves. Hope he hangs around as miles better on the mike than Roy.

Whoever comes in at this critical time needs to accept that this coming season will be tough due to riders getting/ already signing for other clubs, leaving scraps to be picked up. Ged may be thinking of coming in but will be busy contacting riders to see what sort of team he can put together before committing. By the end of next week the pool of riders will have shrunk and by the end of the month I reckon we will no either way. If Danny has gone to Redcar I would imagine his father and family will probably lose interest in Newcastle rather quickly. Worrying times.

As teams are settling on certain riders and the list of top Enders shrinks I hope Newcastle have someone in the bag like Hans Anderson already or could be faced with picking at scraps and a season as the leagues whipping boys. Not sure even the leftover hardcore would stomach that. Not exactly a good time for a third tier season either so I fear for the Diamonds. Hope behind the scenes they are well ahead and on the front foot.

If I am hearing correctly you are using 23.96 on two announced and 1 other done deal. That’s a big chunk on top 3 riders but will give 2 big hitters and cost a pretty penny. Won’t lose at home.

There are definitely at least 2 leagues. I know of 6 riders who are signed ( agreed deals ) with top two leagues. The usual culprit has his one to seven sorted and hopes to be first to announce, did not stop them finishing near bottom half of table, 3 championship riders dropping the champs league next season, one club looking to bounce back from a poor year have two riders over eight, one already announced. They have some idea of what’s happening or one hell of a job backtracking to do.

Not forgetting Rye House under Buster Chapman in the Premier. With half the teams he has a 50% chance of the title.

Diamonds don’t have the fire power for this one. Stevie not the problem here, Matty will be fine but don’t see many points from anywhere else. I believe Redcar will probably win on the night to be honest. Hope it’s a good crowd and not too many put off by weather forecast.

If he was ill, fine, say that and stick to it. just be honest with the people who pay to watch I hope Nicholls gets a ban as when I heard the pay rates on Thursday, he was first name to spring to mind for not turning up. Charles Wright missed a meeting at Ipswich but rode either side of it, so he should have a ban. with no punishment it will carry on. The clubs should also get no facility to cover any bans for riders picking and choosing when to put in any effort or not.

Should get a 28 day ban to aid his full recovery.

Cookie could miss play offs when his ban kicks in. Very hard to undo it when the other two riders have served theirs.

R/R for Max v Wolves

Steve will come good. A little low on confidence and not quite getting the bike working how it should. Ulrich will never be great round Brough but beats the 2nd strings who hate Brough. Needs gating gloves on as he cannot pass. Lasse not good for Diamonds. Gets heat 15 cos he beat Kerr in rerun of hit 3 then reserves after that. Never was going to get a point in last one. Tommy gun just can’t get to grips with Newcastle or the championship for that matter. Hope he has a good one at Scunny. Seems to do better in Premiership. Max is an enigma when he gates he’s quick , was half a straight behind in most races tonight.Never be more than a reserve in a league like this. Danny scoring his average again but needs more if getting zero away from home. Should not be getting beat by Edwards at home. Matty going great and should win rider of the year with as many votes as the rest of the team put together if there is any justice. Looked like a wooden spoon elect team, but should bounce back against a woeful Brummie team and could do with a boost at Scunny on Friday.

And in the meantime Leicester build an expensive team, desperate for glory, that goes well and costs too much, and now struggling to meet the costs. Workington and Edinburgh all over again. Edinburgh fans bailed their club again, no one bailed Worky, who is going to fund the shortfall as Leicester costs keep rising and they are running out of home meetings ( cash ). Scary times to have a good season, hence the plea for supporters ( cash ) for this week when in all fairness Sunny won’t offer much resistance, hardly see them as entertaining away from home with the exception of Sheffield.

Tommy Gun scored well on Mon, so not his fitness. Was always hit and miss at Brough as a visitor. Lasse average was always gonna drop as half his meetings are on a track he cannot ride. Steve was always going to re find his feet this year, always been a trapper and not quite getting it together at the moment. Never has been a racer like evil twin, who cannot gate as consistently as Steve normally does. Ulrich is not a racer, looks good when gates in front but average other times. Danny shouldn’t have lost out to Stoneman in hot 8. The guy has never been to Brough and fell off twice in his first race. Matty down on recent form but still exceeding expectation. Cleggy on it.

Is the limit crazy ? Teams in this league need to cut their cloth accordingly. Should Cook, Masters, Worrall, Schlein etc be allowed in this league Strengthen up the premiership and create this championship to a level where no one over 7.50 is in this league. Then let teams race in the league that suits them Do not have a team total in top league as money ( lack of ) will prevent it getting too strong. Joe Lawlor et al will develop but no body gains from a personal or a sport or a spectator point of view of a meeting in which the number 1s race against the 5th to 7th average rider in a team. drastic but speedway is broken in all countries and someone needs to change direction and fast

Doyle was slowing race down for team mate, not losing speed. his fuel cap came off , hence mechanics getting a bollocking pearson and Tatum so out of it it’s untrue

I think the tone of some on here is poor tbh. I was talking to some of the Bandits management and they were really disappointed to have had to call off the Edinburgh meeting and they had worked hard to reach out to the locals for that meeting with special offers. I was talking to one of them again this morning as they were deliberating what to do about tonight. Money and costs were not mentioned but the fans possibly being in the stadium when the storms arrive for the second time in 3 meetings was talked about and was not something they wished.to happen. That is the only reason they called it there and then. Give the guys a break. They have the club in their hearts and even if they were stinking rich, would have made the same call. Sure they would like to break even but they are not looking to rob the fans who support the club.

Still looks professional and could have enhanced peoples view of speedway and therefore any sponsors logo.
