Premiership Media Day
bringbackHalifax replied to spin king's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Genuine question who is paying the riders travel for this event. for example Zach Cook from Poole to Manchester and back in his hire van eats up his 500 mile a week allowance and no chance to earn any points money. Many more examples available. -
The Oxford riders had lots of track time the day before. The Brummies did excellent and maybe would have done more if they had got track time on Monday
-
If not a ban then Scotty can only replace for a 28 day period, so effectively Pawlicki cannot come back before 28 days expire.
-
DJC says money should be thrown at someone to fill Pawlicki’s boots but money in Poland means its not money that will convince someone to come over for a month. I don’t think Pawlicki will be allowed to ride for Brum before riding for his Polish team first. He will not miss a Polish meeting and I believe he will have to serve a 28 day ban in the UK. Not the best of starts. With a full team inc. Pawlicki Brummies would have been somewhat competitive in last years Premiership, but all teams have strengthened compared to last year leaving a very large gap. Fingers crossed they survive the season.

Don’t think she will be Worky’s biggest issue, give her a chance
-
Laguna would ride here for 3.5 to 4k per mtg. Np other add ons. He just does not want to come
-
Think Brum are goosed now tbh. It’s obvious that they are having to work very hard to persuade someone to come over. None of the riders mentioned actually want to race in the UK so I would question how much effort they would put in.
-
100% believe Flint, Tom, Steve and Zach. ?The other 3 need to be higher ave so these are bottom 4 otherwise this is gonna go pear shaped before March
-
I think some riders genuinely connect with the fans and Steve seems to be one of them. Saying good bye and Thank You to the fans came from the heart and I can see why Steve would rather say that aloud than let people read it in a crafted cold statement. Danny last yr, Lewis Kerr this yr would have loved the opportunity to say good bye in person. With so many riders leaving the championship, not cutting the points limit would have left 5 teams with 3 ht leaders and 4 teams about 5 points under the limit. As for the points limit and team building, I would say 80% of the riders know where they will be next season and at least 10% will be pretty sure, leaving around 9 riders sweating.

Just checked and Steve was top scorer for Poole in playoff final and tonight from 4 rides Rich got 7 and Steve got 7. The whole team lost out by losing Anders and not getting his points from rr and every year it is hard to beat a team who have strengthened during the season and finish with a team whose starting averages mean that team could not have been built at the start of the season. Speedway has always been the same.

Scunthorpe v Poole - 2023 KOC Final
bringbackHalifax replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Championship for next season going to look different. Two big hitters max, low ave, 38 for 7 riders and so far, no Basso, Brennan, Pickering, Douglas, Morris, poss Worrall R, . All heat leaders, Worky or Northside stepping up to replace Birmingham, Team building going to be very tight for 5 and 6 point ave riders. If all true -
Sheffield track and weather was awful for semi final but suited them so no complaints. At Wolves in first leg Howarth binned it on turn 2 but got back in, then in ht 11 Lambert out of control took off Howarth on 1st bend and got all 4 back. No complaints from Sheffield then. Steady being a prat . Not a clue. Hard to believe Team GB look to these two Stead and Allen to steer us to greatness.

Dan backing off the throttle way too often and way too long. Will not make top 6 here. Lambert is in via challenge 100%

Glasgow Vs Oxford play offs 26/9/23
bringbackHalifax replied to Anzum's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The rules were meetings must be completed by end of September. Redcar forced to go to Oxford last Sunday cannot be undone so it’s Saturday or bust. No extensions at this late stage as not fair on Redcar -
Interesting all 4 back when Haworth ditched it on bend 2 and no exclusion when 1 rider knocked off his team mate Sheffield trying to win the same way they said was wrong when losing last yr. its within the rules but moral and spirit. Not for me. Robert Lambert is now the most successful play off rider in British speedway and he hasn’t ridden 10 matches outside the playoffs in Britain in 4 years. Hope Ipswich win it now. Sheffield will be praying Vissing doesn’t rule himself fit for Thursday or next week as that would be a mare for them.

He won the funny hat again

Vissing won’t be back this season Sheffield and Glasgow both stronger without him. Tara and Tom get to cover and a guest for Sheffield
