Newcastle v Leicester 12th June 2022
bringbackHalifax replied to justathought's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Dark dark days for the Geordies. Rob is no speedway promoter and he should of walked at the end of last season. Not sure they will complete season as people will vote with their feet. Lions won well, but only matched Redcar score, however they could of contributed to the end of Newcastle and that will remove 7 league points from their current points total. Irony. -
KOC Sat 4 June - Glasgow v Edinburgh

Heat 14 instead of Hume. -
Rob should have stood to his guns and walked at the end of last season. He is a butcher by trade not a promoter. He got giddy with the takings from the wake and thought it’s okay. BWD on a high guarantee and scoring zilch is not good business. Not the first time it’s happened but Newcastle will have to build trust with the rider population as they talk among themselves and the current rumours will not help. If true good on Starkey for holding firm. I think Newcastle need a winning team to attract fans and they are 4 riders away from being competitive. Very dark clouds and less attractive for someone to step in than it was in November last year.

Nice of Jye whatsisname to comment though he is biased. To progress in speedway he needs all tracks to close except the 2 he can ride Belle Vue sometimes and Berwick.- 352 replies

Long term plan. No rider to replace retired Eddy. Come and do one meeting drop it, and we can have a facility for ages. Rider shortage sorted. -

Once Zagar gets himself sorted he will be at Belle Vue and they will then be stronger, but need more from Max and Brady at home. -

I hope this is genuine and not a fudge. Think this is a stop gap, and Ellis not around in a few weeks time. -
Have any of the riders been asked about use of their image ? Do they receive royalties ?

Let’s hope the relationship with the stadium people enable track work to be carried out as racing dire this year. -

Must be two leagues as Lawson has signed for Kings Lynn and Plymouth. -
“Rising star” might be stretching it a bit if rumours are true

Not said it’s official but it’s true and you will see, just wait a while

Why numba 6

He is wrong your 1 to 7 will change April 21 will prove it but sure announcement will be made prior to then.
-
Except the points limit is being reduced to sub 40 but above 38.So apart from Kent everyone will be changing......... and then there is the work permit issue.
-
Woffy will be disappointed as he made a mistake off bend 2 and scrubbed off speed. Woffy is as quick just not as good when behind. Also The fantastic Pole is I believe about 55 kg in weight and on these slick tracks he has a massive advantage about two thirds of the way down the straight which he uses to great effect. This gives him a 5 to 15 kg weight advantage on some of his competitors. There are no deep gp tracks So unless it rains and rains in Toruń, he is home and dry, this year.

Mr Philips ?

Will get more paying punters through the gate = more cash for Robbo.

Doubt Poole will be allowed an occasional Bank Hol Monday in the championship.
