The loophole that needs to be closed, ( I thought it already was ) is if an assessed rider starts riding in one league then immediately his average for the other league is multiplied or divided as per the current conversion rate. start in prem on a 5 then champs is x 1.5 start in champs on a 5 then prem is x 1.5. I thought this was the rule now so same average cannot be used in other league after 1 meeting.

Redcar v Glasgow 10th September
bringbackHalifax replied to Biffa's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The priority for championship teams , British riders is Britain. Charles was added to the squad when Pawlicki was injured but he came back early. Then the fixture v Glasgow was announced, prior to Woffinden crashing at Cardiff last weekend.who Charles is replacing. I agree a great opportunity and a lot of money, borrowing equipment so no outlay, but a dangerous precedent for championship speedway in Britain. -
Sheffield Tigers 2023

Biggest problem is the blind sided fans. 1st running Douglas on Worrall bike but had a rear tyre issue ( faulty tyre ) so slows up and coasts around. Tobi comes a cropper and ref put red lights on immediately Douglas was on inside of fourth turn when Pickering who raced on despite red lights on halfway down the back straight. Doughy always under power and not lapped when red lights came on. Charlie boy and Steady excitable and dreaming. Great rant on pits phone by Steady. Ref did his job spot on. in rerun on Worrall bike but with his own back tyre. -
If weather has been poor Mr Swales is the man who can.salvage a meeting for you. Well done Johnny. Full credit to the riders for giving it a go. Willy bottled it. Semi wasn’t first bend bunching, so an exclusion should have occurred. The final was not first bend bunching. A rider lifted, was out of control and took out an opponent. Charles should have been excluded. Hollow and shallow victory, but rode well in rerun. Ironically Bomber left Charles room on the outside, I wonder if positions were reversed would Charles leave some room. I have my doubts. Feel for Ben Cook who was best rider on display.

Wolves v Witches Monday 21st Aug
bringbackHalifax replied to Badge's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The world has gone mad. Fans are not cheering at the fallen rider, they are cheering for the gain for their team as a result of the incident, like when a top opposition rider goes through the tapes. It’s happened at all tracks and has been happening for the 52 years I have been going to speedway. It does not mean anyone wants to see a rider hurt though.- 106 replies

British Final 2023
bringbackHalifax replied to Hackett's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
It is not an extra payday, it costs to do the meeting unless you reach top four. As for pulling out late, he only found out when they did the draw that he was in it. Scotty has pulled out as well, but no comments on here, speedway is imploding in the UK and everyone wants to carry on as it were. It will be too late very soon.Riders need to be more involved in decision making and ideas. We cannot afford 2 min clocks to keep meetings moving but we can have transponders that will bring the fans back in their thousands (sarcasm). -

Ashton Boughen off to Glasgow with a very nice signing on fee that will dwarf anything any number one has received this season….. and he will be reserve. Piper or Complin is the dilema -
Sheffield v Wolves 24/07
bringbackHalifax replied to Tommy Sweetman's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It was Phil who made the call to force wolves to do this.Where was he when Sheffield conveniently did not run when Tobi was injured. Phil should have been all over that. -
Regards Vaculik and Lindgren, Lindgren committed to a gap and Vaculik spun up and parked the bike meaning gap closed real quick. Lindgren had no where to go, Vaculik was turning back. In rerun Vaculik again spun up mid corner and this time shut off and pulled back a little as Dan went through. Very close again to crashing and route cause was both times Vaculik spinning up and losing traction. If Dan had of touched and Vaculik went down Dan would have been out but not his fault. The other point was when Lambert was taken down on 1st bend Leberdevs should have been disqualified as no bunching, he just chose not to turn,

As a neutral watching this meeting, how can there be good racing when there is a complete no show from the away team. It takes 2 teams to make a good meeting and Glasgow were just outclassed. It was like watching Halifax away meetings in the 70s and early 80s. Cannot blame the home side or the track, start with Team manager who is crap, and riders who looked beat before 1st corner.

Newcastle speedway

All the above are replaceable with money. The real showstopper will be planning will have, or soon will expire and there is no hope in hell a new application would get through to enable bikes to come back to Brough Park. the day he announced he was staying for another year whilst banking the cash from the end of an era meeting, stupidly thinking he could make that much money every week with a rubbish team was really the end. That was 24 hrs after he was approached with a genuine offer to take it over. -
SCB's excuse for Artem Laguta
bringbackHalifax replied to TTT's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
If the SCB information is correct and was known at lunchtime yesterday, why was the official reason not given out until today. According to the press release the “true facts” were known. Who picked up the cost of his cancelled flight ? The real issue here is if he misses one more meeting this year whilst riding elsewhere the SCB, BSPL and Captain transparent Phil are goosed. The independent ruler that every one wanted in speedway cannot exist in current form. if emperor Phil with no financial input makes the right call on clubs mis behaving, it will lead to club closing down, or in west Scotland throwing toys out of their pram, which could mean closing down or selling. So his hands are tied. Buster and Godfrey have been the worse possible leaders of the sport and everyone is now suffering. Put the fans first with every decision would be a good start, but I believe it’s too late now. -

Johnny Swales likes to add 40 mins to every meeting. Spends an awful amount of time on track during meetings. Did it at Newcy as well . Needs to remember its riders on bikes the crowd pay for not ex riders on tractors. Even Hayley said on at least two occasions the tractor should be coming in any time now and five minutes later they were still out. -
Belle Vue v Ipswich 8 august
bringbackHalifax replied to Baldyman's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think the Belle Vue team have found set ups that give them top end speed, but makes it a little harder to get out of the gate. Hence the first lap chase. No team is strong enough to trouble them at home this season, it depends on the young German( he is gonna be a good one ) and Jyes away points but the rest can score at most places with maybe one or two struggling at Monmore. Even Lemo won’t get this one wrong, this year. -
Poor management not giving Flint a try. Kemp never looked like doing anything in his last 3 races. Does not matter who wins it’s no lasts that count and Kemp looked like a nailed on last in both races v Czechs

Newcastle now closed !!!
bringbackHalifax replied to Phil83's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Not strictly true. He had the option to move it on and get out last yr but he panicked that someone else thought they could make it pay and in his naivety he thought he could do it. The night after he was approached he announced he was carrying on and never even went back to let the frontman of the people who wanted to take on the club know before the announcement. Now the club is in such a sorry state, no one will do it now.
