Coventry V Wolves Monday 9th May

have tried to put some logic on heat 12. The only logic I can see is that Masters suffered problems directly as the race was stopped and had clashed in the run in to the 1st bend. Did the clash cause the puncture or was it just a coincidence? If there was any doubt that any incident caused the puncture then a time should have been allowed for Masters instead of putting the 2's on straight away. Maybe Durno realised his mistake at the end of the 2 minutes? that said 2 mins came on and he wasn't ready within that time slot. don't let Pinny hear you saying that, he is past his best don't you know! However back in the real world Fred appears to be having a resurgent year and long may this continue. A true class act. He isn't an EL draft rider. EL draft riders now get EL averages and can move into the 1-5, although only one of them can move up at any one time. Howarth has moved up to 3, Masters at reserve. Poole - Ellis moved to 3, Kurtz to reserve, Swindon - Wright moved up, Tungate reserve, Leicester - Auty up, Klindt down. Averages change every 2 weeks to avoid the draft riders struggling in the main body. -
averages from 2014 I fail to get this obsession with who is better, Newman or Garrity (last season) or Newman or Worrall (this season). If we are talking only EL performances/averages I'd say Newman shades it both seasons although as SCB pointed out there really isn't a huge difference in it. At PL level obviously then both are quite a bit better than Newman. The only farce has been working out the grade numbers for these riders. Hopefully this season's EL averages alone will affect next seasons grades. Or failing that take their EL averages and times it by their PL converted average to give a much truer . Plus any calculation of averages should omit any of their reserve rides. The true reflection of their abilities should only include their rides against better riders.
-
Agreed, that would be my worry.
-
While we are performing well we can carry him a little, particularly if he might drop to reserve. He seems to have gone backwards each season so we need to see an improvement soon or I can see changes on the card. I'm sure PK is dusting off his goggles as we speak in case he gets a call.

Anybody would be crazy to not believe fast Freddie isn't capable of stepping back up again as class just doesn't disappear. Well unless your name is Pinny of course. A point you have argued 3 times and already dismissed as nonsense. A rider that's riding quick and committed , doing well in a GP round and averaging over 9 in a tough race format isn't past his best. More to come quite clearly. Point dismissed 3 times as nonsense which on his performances this season prove my point. Troll off. -

It's a weak league I agree yet very few top riders have excelled since the new race format came out so I'd say it's a tougher race format for them personally. Point in question woffy was on fire everywhere in 2014....... just not the EL. -

Why mention him not being in the GP's as some sort of defence then argue he isn't back to form when anyone with a pair of eyes can see he us flying this year?? Totally predictable no argument post, troll for troll sakes. -

Already argued and point proven correct. Unless my eyes deceive me he rode the 1st GP this season and already named in 2nd GP. Dear oh dear. Looks like your posts are getting worse one after the other. -

Predictable response, no doubt you will still be saying that if he qualifies for the GP's again. Freddie is on 9.12 so far for this season alone (higher if we include tonight's match). Out of those 5 matches he has had which are the crap ones??? 4 double figures and a paid 9. Your point I think well and truly stunk out. Anyway back in the real world Freddie is on fire this year. Class remains. -

Why? Harris run into Freddie's dirt deflector. He was out of control before he went down. Typical Harris dive. -

The big moaners have nothing to say of course -
Ash is already our 2nd tier 2 rider so I'd imagine yes. PK finished on 5.51 last season. Bech is 6.48. So yes !!

It is, however Howarth has been superb too. Bech has been the weak link. Just goes to show how the averages have been totally messed up. What a farce was that race? Why would the ref turn off the 2 minutes?? What a heat 14 - where are the Lindgren is past it brigade? ?? Strangely quiet. -

I have, I wasn't referring to this year as I've already stated that the past 2 seasons have been poor by its usual high standards. -

excellent post but I'd imagine Stoke Potter would still disagree. Again another excellent post and much more depth than the bigger is better one. -

It's a joke surely comparing any track of size that hasn't yet had a meeting run on. I'm looking forward to visiting and taking pride in a national stadium tho. There is no need for jealousy when you have a race track that probably gives better entertainment than most in the UK so if there is any cheap shot it's your last sentence. -
I never got what others saw in what was obviously a poor team on paper. In saying that most had Wolves down as also rans.

What I have got is that you consider in general that bigger tracks offer a better racing spectacle. I didn't say I completely disagree with that . However I maintain that so long as track prep is paramount then racing is likely to be as good as at any track. And I still maintain I'd pick watch racing at Monmore over every track. Good that you mention the new Belle Vue track as an example as to why it's better than the Wolves track already - that's the track that they can't get fit to race on yea?? Shame, you were doing so well until that last ridiculous claim. (Perhaps when the track has had a couple of years racing on I might take it seriously before you make another claim like that) -

stevebrum replied to TonyE's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
you said levelling all things up (assuming all tracks are equal, preparation wise I assume not to mention stadium upgrades ) that the spectacle will always be better on a bigger track. Have I got it? I assumed I had all along. I'm not asking you to agree with me as your agreement isn't required. I'm just stating a fact that I have seen as good a racing at Monmore as I've seen anywhere. And if I had to pick watching racing at only one track I'd pick Wolves every time. Who mentioned only one track as an example ? Just you of course. The Polish tracks are some of the best in the world yet I have watched some live streamed meetings from Poland that lack the 'spectacle' you claim comes with every big track. You argument started realistically but you have now turned it into a farce with this silly comparison. Torun is a wonderful stadium and track but as I live in England it isn't an option for me to watch matches live there on a weekly basis. As you previously stated if all things were equal then Monmore would have an equally as good stadium as Torun so I think I'd be more than happy with that. No doubt I still haven't 'got it' because my answer is different to yours. -

Don't really think I was missing your point however if you equal things up I've seen equally as good racing at Monmore as I've seen at any track in the country so I have to disagree with you on that point. -
Watt is an EL rider whilst Cook has been a double upper till this season. I've no issue ensuring British riders get rides in both leagues, that's the least we should be doing to help any home rider. As for Watt, he might want to drop down (I don't know if true) to earn more money or because his EL days are over (it's only his 'personal issues' that appear to be affecting him not his ability to mix it in the EL) however the rules don't allow him too. I wouldn't like the rules altered that help none British riders however as that would be plain crazy.
