Could Woffy Be Making An El Return?
stevebrum replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
he isn't . Thats why he is world champion. I see a confident young man well earned. -
Predictable finish tho. Looked promising early on.

Could Woffy Be Making An El Return?
stevebrum replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Who knows the real reason and I'd guess money plays it part. Personally speaking I thinks demands on the GP with extra dates added over recent years plus with Poland becoming the biggest player and the UK much lower down the pecking order plays a huge part. Plus back then everyone seemed to want to get some education on UK tracks so most of the top boys and youngsters would want to be here. I think the likes of Greg and Nicki showed you could still be the World's best without needing the UK and it seems to have been adopted as the culture. I would imagine Polish speedway culture has changed as well because virtually all of the best rode here and it was almost expected and encouraged by all speedway nations and now that seems to be virtually none existence. -

Wow, nearly half from 6 seasons ago. Doesn't that tell you something? Jonsson had about 6 seasons out until last season, Zagar has missed a few seasons here and Iversen wants out. Thanks for helping me prove my point tho. -

More are not doing the EL. They are all probably sick to death of being ignored by the BSPA , bit like the amount of fans who can't be bothered to go anymore too I'd say. -
He is really just a second string. Never has seemed to step up to EL H/L.

The riders keep saying the same thing. Too many matches, too many racenights. Nowt to do with money IMHO. Poland and Sweden both have shorter league programmes and all the top boys ride . And they know there race nights too. And get better crowds too. Something to learn from AFAIC. -

That's a fair point and I'd rather he drop Sweden and do the EL. However what he is doing is the same as ALL the rest. That's proves who are at fault really. -
I think you are still missing the point. Garrity said he didn't want to do another season as a EDR and wanted to test himself in the 1-5. Of course he would get that chance this season if he started as an EDR. However here lies the crucial part to me and i think he probably wanted a proper starting wage not an EDR one. And I think he is right. Why should he be paid a lower wage for doing something he feels he is already capable of? Unless Cov offered to pay him a proper wage and start in reserve then there might be some merit. Do we really think the EDR riders suddenly get paid more even when riding as heat leaders??

And Nicki, and Greg, and Jarek and now Niels and many others. Why can't they ride for the 5 easy minutes in the UK as well? ? I guess you've trying to say that all those riders are making excuses too - am I right??? Well, no as it's just a chance to attack one rider. No wonder no one takes you seriously. It's at least comical reading seeing you proven wrong each time to back with another spade to dig a bigger hole. -
Wolverhampton V Poole. Ela 2/5/16
stevebrum replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Poole haven't been convincing away so far So I think that's about right. One thing tho is no team will take Poole lightly this season or should they. However I rate belle Vue more dangerous at Monmore tho. -
Garrity didn't want to be a draft rider so it's irrelevant. I'm sure Cov tried to convince him to stay there but why should he if he feels he is ready to move up? Cov were unlucky because they had little option once they protected Sarj and it's unfair to lay the blame at Garrity's door for Cov's team building. Off all the fast trackers I admire Garrity the most for moving up.

Could Woffy Be Making An El Return?
stevebrum replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
No he isn't. He us doing what all the other top riders are doing. Why should he be any different? Because he is British? ? If the sport used him as a figurehead they could push the sport better but instead they bury their heads in the sand and ignore the obvious. The BSPA are badly advised, Tai is perfectly advised. He is still achieving his dreams and goals. -
It doesn't read that he will be around all season but only ones that suit. Not sure how the Stars can plan around this unless they sign another rider to share with him - that wouldn't include Troy tho who I assume is part of a re-structering.

New Averages (team Line Up Changes Updates)
stevebrum replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Good point. However it would still make a mockery of their inflated averages due to having easier (than heat leaders) rides. I would like to think that there is a long term plan to assist these successful EDR'S progress next year but I know it will be another farcical decision like using the PL averages again. Hopefully they will make a rule that a British EDR must start in the 1-5 next season. -

You have every right to think what you like about Tai. However I won't agree with you that he is an arrogant idiot. Plus it's a strong opinion IMHO. Like I said confident yes, the rest is earned . -

I wonder who the current world champion is and how long it's been since dirty Nicki won a title? Sorted, -

If Kyle is missing then I can't think of an equal guest or EDR that is suitable. So it would definetly weaken Poole. -

you say arrogant idiot (what was that I saw you telling Gavan about name calling?) And I say confident young man. You are no more right than me. So I too will leave it there. exactly, who can put a package together that doesn't include his parent club? If he did ride in the EL it would have been for Wolves because I can't see Adams allowing him to go out on loan. He at least does have loyalty to Wolves in the EL when he chooses to ride here. well said. You are correct. Nicki is in a different class to Tai - it's one that is below Tai. Tai has had him in his back pocket for a while now. -

Many said that about ward. Truth is as a double world champion he has nothing to prove and has earned the right to be a confident young man. Yet more speculation being lauded as fact and yet the same sheep jump to believe. Says it all. -

stevebrum replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Wrong yet again. British speedway is under achieving as none of the riders have been household names in years. Another attack that's shown up for lack of insight. Next you will be saying he has underachieved under Peter Adams. It's a shame you're posts lack any credibility. -
