Agreed.
Holder is a true number one. He isn't the only one who has stalled or gone backwards this season. In fact those that haven't are in a minority.
It's unclear on what newcomers averages will be.
In fairness I misread the BSPA update saying new none British riders assessed at 6.50 will be added to the heat leaders list. It doesn't say all newcomers will be assessed at that average.
[quote name="semion" post="2702494" timestamp="1445950810"Gone are the days where one rider sticks with a club for keeps.
Too some extent.
Riders like Freddie Lindgren and Woffy have only ridden for one EL club, likewise Chris Holder.
In the season yes, but on that average for next year? We would be crazy to let him go.
And any other teams would be crazy for thinking they had a chance of signing him.
I agree, no one should be safe until we have a rider capable of doing a number ones job.Part of me does wonder if the management are already investing in Joel Andersson for next season. On a 6.5 average he is too big a gamble and as a likely heat leader.
Not sure he is any further forward in his career than Jacob is.
It's not real rocket science. It's maximising the points limit to the full that makes it logic.
Given that no one is signed and no idea what points would be left it's all surmise at this stage anyway.
As a club asset it makes more logic to use you're own asset , obviously points limit allowing.
And if both become heat leaders they will both struggle.
The only sense it might make would be for team building with Barker on the lower average.
However both a second strings are decent bets.
As a second string it's a no brainer.
barker could still do a job (as you're example) but both would struggle as heat leader.
So if it come to them both upping their averages to become heat leader it's Jacob for me also.
