  1. A nice idea but as long as there is someone with the tv-rights to the entire league the clubs likely cannot have their own streams. Non-league meetings is another case of course.
  2. Tried this link? http://tv.eurosport.fi/tvschedule.shtml Only show the nearest two weeks though.
  3. SEC title definitely more worth then being an also ran in the SGP. SEC when Dryml won wasn't the same as it is today. Sure, Emil S, Nicki P, Grigory Laguta, Martin Vaculik, Antonio Lindbäck. Definitely sounds like typical second rate riders. You remember Ales winning the title also proves that you are wrong. Winners will be remembered, the also rans will be not. 2014 season, Greg was WC, Emil was EC but who finished 6th-8th in the SGP? I don't think many, if anyone, will know/remember without looking it up.
  4. I don't know. Perhaps (speculation) it's due to the nature of the speedway sport and the general design of the bikes? In most other high speed motorsports, the fuel tank is usually much more well protected and most car series, regardless if it is F1 or WRC or WEC or DTM, they have some special types of safety tanks (safety fuel cells http://fuelsafe.com/ http://atlinc.com/racing.html) which is usually embedded in the car to protect it from external forces. On a speedway bike on the other hand everything is very exposed, the engine, the exhaust and the fuel system so if there is a crash (which there often is in speedway) I think the risks if petrol is leaking out might be quite more dangerous (very hot engine and exhaust pipe+silencer) then if methanol would leak out since petrol is more prone to ignite, perhaps using petrol would increase the risks of a fireball a bit too much? *while I was typing E I Addio also answered. Perhaps it's a combination?
  5. Of course you can create engines that runs on regular petrol but one advantage with methanol is that it has a higher fire safety then petrol. Petrol ignites much more easily and it burns with a much higher temperature. So from a safety aspect, methanol is to prefer over petrol. http://www3.epa.gov/otaq/consumer/08-fire.pdf
  6. Smederna have been invited, as the only club, to Svemo's annual environmental forum at Arlanda airport. This is because are considered are an example of success regarding the environmental aspects of their arrangements as well as their work/program together with Svemo about "biological diversity". Smederna's "slogan" is environmental friendly motorsport of world class quality. http://ikarossmederna.se/eskilstuna-och-smederna-lyfts-fram-som-framgangsexempel-under-nationellt-miljoforum/
  7. Malmö will open the track this weekend for a training camp. http://www.speedwaynyheter.se/2016/03/10/sasongen-igang-malmo-till-helgen/ Further north there will another while or two before the tracks can be opened.
  8. The "but neither should British speedway be criticised for not participating because it wants to run its own programme of meetings at the weekends (which it has done for the past 80 years)." says it all. Some want things to be like the "always" have been. If Speedway is going survive it's time to stop with the "territorial thinking" like the one above.
  9. An article about Daniel Henderson. http://ekuriren.se/sport/1.3871047-henderson-plogade-fram-sin-egen-traningsbana
  10. 1. BSI are also a private owned sports promotion company. I am perfectly fine with free competition. 2. There are several. Tour de Ski in cross country skiing is a sort of "mini-cup" in addition to the original world cup, albeit organized by FIS just like the regular world cup. NHL owners doesn't want "their" players to play in the Olympic so they revived their own world cup tournament simply because they considered getting too little pay from IOC's Olympic games tournament. The last thing haven't been said though regarding NHL player in the Olympic. We had two parallel touring car racing series in Sweden during 2012. STCC was the old established series but a few teams left STCC and started a new championship called TTA. For the 2013 season they had joined forces again though. For many years USA had competing formula cars racing series. I don't remember which series was which anymore but they were named IRL, IndyCar, ChampCar, CART and similar.
  11. I also prefer national teams but BSI/FIM didn't like that so One sport had no choice. I also am not buying the "BSPA weekly schedule" thing.
  12. A shame to see that the Brits is still not present? Still afraid of upsetting BSI?

  14. Some kind of announcement will be made today at 12.30 CET. https://twitter.com/JKonikiewicz/status/704243674838859776
  15. Realistically, the weather is and have been too warm to have it at a naturally frozen track at Mariestad anyway so I don't understand why they even thought about moving it? It's time the clubs realized that the weather this far south is too unreliable to have ice racing events on naturally frozen tracks.

  17. Yes that is right. The tax authority didn't considered the sponsorship money to be actual sponsorship but a form of indirect salary. The difference is that sponsorship money is tax deductable (at least to some extent) while regular salary is not. So it was considered that Holta (and i think also Jason Crump) had received the sponsorship money is such a way that it was an attempt to escape taxes. It can also be used as a way to circumvent salary cap even if there isn't any salary cap in use any more.
  18. Can any of our Polish members tells us what this is about? http://sportowefakty.wp.pl/zuzel/579317/greg-hancock-zaplaci-za-klamstwa-klubow Something about Greg H, something about illegal/illegitimate clauses in the contracts or something like that. It seems, according to the article, that Greg will be fined and possible also loose a large sum of money?
  19. Well he used Stefan Edberg for a few years. Andy Murray have used Ivan Lendl as a coach and Andy is now using former player Ameli Mauresmo, Djokovic is using Boris Becker...
  20. There have been some controversies regarding Robert Lambert's average Some think because he have a German license his new Swedish average should be based on his average from the German Bundesliga rather then on his average in the British Elite league. The only reason to why Masarna is complaining is because using the EL as a base for the average will be slightly higher then using BL as base. EL=1.318 BL=1.250 http://www.dt.se/sport/motor/snittproblematik-i-masarna-vi-kan-inte-kora-med-nagra-tilltankta-laguppstallningar The rules says that a rider who does not have an official Swedish average will get a new average based on the average in his/hers home league, the question is then how you determine which league is the home league? IIRC Australian and New Zeeland riders are considered to have the Elite League as their home leagye Some claim that because of his German license his average should be based on the German league average. In my opinion Robert is a that having a German license doesn't make BL his home league. He's represented GB in 2014 team U21 world cup, 2nd in 2015 individual British championship, describes himself as a British motorcycle speedway rider. So without a doubt he IS British and therefore the Elite League should be considered his home league with hesitation. He was also registered as a British rider least season but as far as I know nobody had any issues with that then.
  21. Rasmus Broberg's appeal regarding his suspension have been overruled by RIN. http://www.speedwaynyheter.se/2016/02/10/brobergs-overklagan-avslagen-av-rin/ ...and yet he re-signed with Vetlanda.
  22. Surely it depends on what the club and the rider have agreed on? I am pretty sure that Emil and Vetlanda have discussed this during contract talks and that Emil knows what/how Vetlanda are planning to use their best riders. I doubt Emil would have signed with Vetlanda if he wasn't satisfied with what Vetlanda offered.
  23. I think that Vetlanda is clear favourites but after them it is a pretty much an open game between the rest of the teams. Personally I would switch positions between Rospiggarna/Piraterna and Smederna/Lejonen. Lejonen have a pretty big advantage of their home track which Rospiggarna also have to some extent. I also think that Dackarna will be better then 7th. Smederna have many good riders but their Swedish riders are pretty week, then there are some ? regarding Laguta and Zagar. How well will they perform? Laguta wasn't as good last season as he have been the two previous seasons and Zagar have never really done that well in the Swedish league. However Smederna do have Michelsen available as well and he can replace Kenni, Zagar or Laguta without needing to replace Zorro who himself also is a bit of a question mark since he usually is very up and down. But I guess that Smederna didn't really have much choice when Thorssell signed for Rospiggarna, Kim Nilsson signed with Masarna and Berntzon went to Vetlanda. But as I said it will probably be a very open game between the rest with Masarna as the possible weakest team but they have KK on a very low average and if he gets going again then Masarna could also do pretty well. It will be interesting to see what Lambert can do. I think he will do pretty well. I think final standings will be something like this; Vetlanda Indianerna Rospiggarna Lejonen Dackarna Smederna Piraterna Masarna
  24. I think Emil and Bartoz will share the meetings. Especially since Bartosz will be doing the GP-series this season. Vetlanda could also theoretically replace Tai or Jarek with Emil but they then need to replace THJ with Mikkel Bech (+Sögaard for Kling if Tai) but I don't think Vetlanda will do that since THJ is from Vetlanda (or just outside). At least not in the beginning of the season.
  25. His average makes it quite difficult to fit him in. Sure you can replace Bartoz and Ricky with Emil and Jesper Sögaard but the question is how much you will gain/loose from that. Tai Woffinden 1,948 Tomas H Jonasson 1,500 Emil Sajfutdinov 2,390 Oliver Berntzon 0,648 Jarek Hampel 2,000 Kenny Wennerstam 0,500 Jesper Sögaard 0,500 total 9,486 remaining 0,014
