I can remember some betting at a track, many years ago. You had to guess the finishing order, by helmet colour, and the decimal point of the race time. Always seemed like, although speedway knowledge would help for the first part, the second was just random luck. Was not a success so the bookies gave it up. I personally thought at the time, that if races got delayed, so bets could be put on, that I would give up following speedway.

Sounds optimistic about a buyer being found, but would it need to be finalised before the AGM, so a team can be entered in a league?
-
When is this year's AGM? Presume that's when decisions will be announced.
-
Part of the reason it closed was due to Sheffield switching to Sunday racing.

Speedway On Tv And The Internet In 2026

Hi, can anyone tell me if highlights of SON are on any Freeview channels? Thanks -
Thanks. Would not want it for speedway GB. Don't want any less races, still remember the old days with around 21 races including second half. I don't suppose admission prices would be adjusted to reflect the reduction in races or riders. Presume there would be no rider replacement, with only five riders. Could be an issue if any rider had to withdraw early due to injury.

Could someone post the Danish race format on here. Would like to see how it works.

They could bring in the greasy pole. Anyone who wants to argue with the referee, has to climb up it, to get to the refs box. -
Super Heat - Why its not right!!

Why is the 4 3 2 0 scoring system used?. Means avoiding last is the priority. Why not 4 2 1 0, making winning a priority. Surely winning should be a priority when you have a race with 4 riders of the quality of Emily, Doyle, Bewley and Kurtz. -
Birmingham v Sheffield Mon 4th August PL2

Had Sheffield not replaced Flint in race 14, and put their best two in race 15, Birmingham may only have scored 28. -
A rider without a team in either division in the top 20?.
-
Possibly worth the gamble. Morris may take a bit of time to get up to speed, but Sheffield almost certain to make the play offs. Not really followed his scores, but from memory, I believe Jye didn't start the season too well, but doing a bit better now.

Nick Morris and Jye Etheridge in. Will it be an improvement?

We don't know for sure if rumours are true.

Without checking averages, availablity, or if an improvement etc, some riders without Premiership teams, Scott Nichols, Nick Morris, Connor Mountain, Steve Worrall, Declan or Zaine Kennedy, Kye Thomson, Cameron Heaps, Mitch McDiarmid, William Cairns, Fraser Bowes. I'm sure I've missed a few. -
Good question. Unless I've missed it, there appears to be nothing on BSPL or Oxford's website to confirm the change. Wonder if is still to be approved.

Is It Finally Time For One League?

I believe something similar was proposed a few years ago, more like a cup competition than a league. Also included Poland. Never happened though. -
