  1. I guess that's 6-8 weeks weeks for Aarnio as well then?
  2. Looking good. Could double as the EWR if the Humber bursts its banks and floods N Lincs.
  3. NHS says 6-8 weeks for fractured wrist, but Speedway riders it probably means 4 weeks! Don't know what injuries Tero has and how long he will be side lined.
  4. So where is Aarnio this week then? Berwick track specialist and a no show for us! We need some away points ,but keep shooting ourselves in the foot. Is everyone allowed to replace Aarnio for r/r rides?
  5. Could be because Connor Coles is riding at Berwick, as he has signed for the Scorpions to cover for Ryan Kinsley's long term injury.
  6. Do I do the 420 miles round trip, will the weather hold, will we win away??? Probably not, probably not and probably not.
  7. Some good racing last night, but we threw some points away too. Can't help feeling we gave the Pirates a point and let a substantial lead fritter away. Another 3 points and at this stage of the season our aim is to stay in the top six, after that its start again and all to play for. I am still of the opinion whoever scores the most league points wins the title, but it prolongs the season and gives the underdogs a chance of the trophy. Shout out to Rob and his track staff, who provided a good race surface in 30 degree heat and drying wind. The Poole fans near to me, were thankful the track was not dusty, didn't need tractor racing and could make their long journey home after 15 heats in 80 minutes.
  8. With 30 degrees forecast for Friday, best start the water bowsers up now!
  9. Another potential banana skin meeting for the Scorpions. Poole have a few EWR track specialists in Lawson, Worrell and Kemp. As for the rest all could score well too. I think a make or break week for Aarnio, with both the management and fans beginning to lose faith in his commitment to the club. I am sure the feelers are out looking for a replacement, but as we all know riders are thin on the ground.
  10. If you cannot ride the EWR then you can't ride anywhere. Its so wide, no massive cambers, lots of lines and every man and his dog practises there out of season. A track you can go all out on and take calculated risks, so good racing usually ensues, we are spoilt rotten!
  11. Forget all the Glasgow internal disputes perhaps the Scorpions just rode well and had a good win!
  12. Weather today, tomorrow and Sunday looks dubious. I can see this one rained off, or "spongy track"
  13. Well as predicted on page one, the afternoon track was bare and dusty, I think half of the track is in my hair. Feel like we threw a few potential points away on a track that the blast around the outside was just not working again. Please Rob refrain from afternoon fixtures the track is never as good as usual evening starts. From the programme notes, there is an indication that Aarnio is on borrowed time after letting us down again???
  14. Why a 5pm start when the track will be difficult to keep the moisture in? Much better to keep the usual 7.30pm tapes up.
  15. Had to do something for the crowd to watch whilst ref was called to pits due to Worrall's handbags with Aarnio
  16. Rob only grades it once per meeting ,sometimes not at all, so the track just evolves naturally.
  17. Jeez ,let's flog a call off to death. 1) Crappy weather forecast for evening. 2) Power supply issues. 3 Hole in road is just off the public highway B1430, some 200yds from the EWR . The EWR can be seen in the background of the Twitter photo, but the land in between is private land which Rob has no influence of. Clearly contractors doing repairs with their tape and fencing around hole. Google maps is useful. 4) Some people just want to make waves for Rob Godfrey. I cannot see many promotors wanting to take up the poisoned chalice of Chairman/Chairwoman post. 5) Some people you just cannot help, even when you give valid info. 6) Track had from 10.15pm until the following morning to dry out for the next meeting. 7 R.G runs the country, Boris and Rishi are doing a good job, the illegals crossing the Channel are welcome, inflation is a blip and Putin is misunderstood!!!
  18. National weather forecast was showers, local weather forecast was showers, club made early call off , what more information do these prats want??? If you want to travel long distances with a dubious forecast, you take that risk, if you want to ignore the information put out in good time, then you reap what you sow end of!!!
  19. Two miles from the track and it was a steady drizzle from 7.30pm onwards , with a deluge at 8.50pm. So weather forecast was correct, early call off correct and if you can't be bothered to check websites before travelling boo hoo!
