Leicester lions 2023 (PREMIERSHIP)
DJC replied to PhilTheAce's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Well batch came in on 4.99, if there were the full 5 available then there's plenty of evidence that there were Danes, Poles and Russians available at that mark. I get that they had done well, but well enough to have carried RR until the next set came out to properly reassess options, that's where the knee jerk comment came from. But all that matters little as the 'for sale' must have been on the cards before the Morris issue as there has been chance to improve since and the changes have been as cost effective as they could make them. Shame as they really did start off well...Sedgman's form is the biggest concern since Morris was banned -

Agreed, and more frustrating I'd imagine that the majority of those changes were driven by one riders actions. The knee jerk reaction of replacing Morris with Batch when there were (from the signings that have come later) better options out there has cost them big time. Even with the poor start from Laguta last night, Peterborough seem to have somehow come out of it all looking the better of those 4 sides. Sheffield have big hitters but a very long tail now and Kings Lynn still have a few injured or carrying injuries. -

3 clubs have made 3 changes, one injury RS switch for BV and Riss out then back in for Ipswich. They changed the twins over as well, then Wolves haven't made any. That leaves: Kings Lynn - 6 outgoing in KK, Laguta, Edwards, Jakobsen, Thompson and Pickering. Leicester - 5 outgoings with Cook, Dan T, Harris, Batch and Morris. Peterborough - 4 outgoings, Pedersen, Wojdylo Andersen, Worrall Sheffield - 5 outgoings, Holder, Kerr, Ellis, Bellego, Giles. That's 20 changes with only 3/4 due to injures? Gilkes, Holder, Pedersen and Pickering. -
If timing had been better they could have tried to replace Roynon with him then?
-
What would he come in on now? Presumably 6 as he's still a 4 for Ipswich?
-
What is stopping them signing the Pole/another in place of Newman though? It would be incredible to witness the fall out on here if Redcar signed Wojdylo to replace Hume or Oxford to replace Jenkins.

Oxford vs Plymouth - Champ - 25 Aug
DJC replied to Bojangles's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It should have been but that Plymouth side is so poor. I know there are a lot of meetings on today but Perry in the side, RR and Edwards at 4...Oxford could hit 60. Not a bad meeting for Boughen to make his debut in though -
If it has to be like for like average wise for a change, could he replace Hume at Redcar? Not that he needs replacing but would make the play off's very interesting and I imagine he would fly around there
-
I think I would have preferred Patryk if I was a Glasgow fan. He looks a lot more entertaining from what I've seen on the TV meets. Still a huge signing though and great replacement for Nowak
-
Throwing him straight into a Premiership meet before he makes his Championship debut feels very risky. It is of course a valuable experience but he seems a very determined young lad who I can't see settling for three 0's. Can't imagine Oxford will be happy if the worst happens from him overriding, trying to impress.
-
So is Cardiff, wouldn't be surprised to see him there
-
Thank you. The PL offer is interesting. Wonder if that was Sheffield after the Gilkes injury? Only Ipswich would probably be looking to change RS otherwise but don't see Louis having heard of him if he hadn't heard of most of the SGP2 field!
-
Can anyone post it on here for those of us not using that hell hole of a site?
-
He’s ridden in 3 out of 4 matches the Chargers have had at home, albeit for the away side so they’ve pretty much had him there anyway
-
Also down to ride for Region Varde on Wednesday this week
-
Why would you take the bait
-
The guest booking before his made his return to Oxford makes this make a lot of sense.

Peterborough v Sheffield - 21st Aug
DJC replied to bigcatdiary's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Really hope he's back on these shores again next year. Every time I've seen him he seems to get better. Great style and so much speed. Still a bit surprised he isn't in the top league in Poland Commentators curse there as he's now down as R/R after getting injured in Poland! -
Usually some of the better ones do, especially on the continent! Riss brothers had a track in their back garden, a lot of the Aussies have too. let’s not even talk about the golden boy Zmarzlik, I can’t imagine he’s had to actually buy a bike in his life.

Given Vatcher's history in dragging these kids half way around Europe and not giving them a sniff at a heat when named as reserve I would have done the same thing.
