  1. Presume Mads Hansen comes in now then? They haven't said that have they?
  2. Exactly! was pretty obvious from the images they showed as examples and no one bat an eye lid - will be interesting to find out where a complaint come from!
  3. Wore his own Kevlars instead of the ones with GP sponsorship on. Had 'Orlen' on his chest and not 'Infinite Reality'. Rules are rules - but why was it not noticed during qualifying?
  4. Definitely looks like a kings Lynn race jacket, could be a red herring though! jan Jaros?
  5. From either the 97 or 98 Welsh Open. Chris Courage?
  6. Doyle will retire with one, Adams didn't. I know which one I'd prefer
  7. Don't think you're far off there. Can't see Lidsey being back over here next year either.
  8. Wouldn't the Pole be on a 5? Rew is a must on his average although I do feel like Ipswich doesn't suit him a great deal. He's looked fantastic in the SGP2 but can't seem to replicate it over here. Riss seems to be a cert now he's dropped so low and lets face it, you won't run without King in the 1-7. Thompson could feel pretty hard done by if not picked as a RS again after a real upturn in form over the last few weeks but can see them staying loyal to Thomas if he can get fit. Biggest question is how do you replace Emil if he doesn't come back? Masters?
  9. Is there not a 'licence' type test in Poland before they can ride in a proper meeting? I'm sure it may have been Holder that was complaining about it when one of the juniors took him out this year, after taking someone else out in the meeting before...and the one after. Probably one of the rarer occasions but a test should be in place, especially the basics like laying the bike down which newer riders don't seem capable of these days.
  10. I may have been a few jars deep by the end so it probably was a little better from the sofa!
  11. May well have been, but it's the drama that keeps it going. Wouldn't have said the racing in the final last year was great (from memory) but the drama made it a fantastic evening's viewing
  12. That's only to drum up audiences for the GPs - that they haven't made accessible to all! I do enjoy that Kelv's rider to watch isn't ever someone who's actually in form, it's always the GP rider, who everyone knows will have a decent night.
  13. Oh, I realised that from the first broadcast they did. Doesn't make it anymore frustrating that they big up the sport then miss the best bits.
  14. What's an even bigger shame is that Eurosport have now buggered off for the foreseeable until the play offs start. From what's been said about the last few meetings, all over, the drama and racing has been some the best it's been all season. Yes I know they have a contract and rain off's have pushed the season back but it's just so blind sighted with the permeations left and drama that they had to show more meetings to the mainstream. Believe this was on BSN - but still this or Sheffield should have been on Eurosport
  15. Don't say that on the Leicester thread!!
  16. The way Heeps is going at 2 I'd put RR there to use Tarrasenko in 8 and Brennan in 1. Piper and Complin to take a ride against either Atkins in 6 or Jenkins and Kerr in 10.
  17. Not sure if it has been mentioned or even if this is the right place, apologies if not, but feel its prudent to share. Wales Online has just release a story of a fan that's been missing since the GP with links to report any information to the Police etc Live: Wales breaking news plus weather and traffic updates (Tuesday, September 5) - Wales Online
  18. Thoroughly enjoyed it again this year. Managed to catch up with some old faces from all over the world that we've not seen in years. The buzz around the city centre was fantastic with a few friends from work commenting that they didn't realise speedway was so popular as I'm the only one they know who likes it. Imagine if all you moaning on your keyboard from a far had turned up, the impression of a thriving sport worth watching can never be a bad thing. The meeting its self was very enjoyable, Tai early on looked like the Tai of 2018. As has been pointed out many times you don't need 10 passes in each race for it to be a good race, only a handful of riders actually managed to get out in front and pull away. It was a much better meeting than the majority of GPs this year If you want to take it away from Cardiff and up to Belle Vue, go for it. But you'll all be moaning about how poor the 'fan zone' is or the parking or the hotel prices there too! And Wembley talk is quite frankly ludicrous! If you cant fill a 75k seater because its a 'temp track and they never work' how empty is Wembley going to look and what makes you think they'll get that right first time? Give your heads a wobble.
  19. Hope so. If he gets a decent pick he should be alright.
  20. If he actually was 'ruthless' he would be a serious medal contender!
  21. Pretty much, it's chaos most days. As you'll most likely come down Newport Road from the M4 it does get very busy. Maybe busier than usual getting out as there is a strongman competition in the CIA opposite and it tends to be a car park of choice for events there as its so close.
  22. FYI for those travelling into and staying in Cardiff, the 10k is on Sunday morning so escaping could be a bit difficult! Road Closures - The CDF 10K (cardiff10k.cymru) 2023-CDF10K-Road-Closure-Map.pdf (cardiff10k.cymru)
  23. Well batch came in on 4.99, if there were the full 5 available then there's plenty of evidence that there were Danes, Poles and Russians available at that mark. I get that they had done well, but well enough to have carried RR until the next set came out to properly reassess options, that's where the knee jerk comment came from. But all that matters little as the 'for sale' must have been on the cards before the Morris issue as there has been chance to improve since and the changes have been as cost effective as they could make them. Shame as they really did start off well...Sedgman's form is the biggest concern since Morris was banned
  24. Agreed, and more frustrating I'd imagine that the majority of those changes were driven by one riders actions. The knee jerk reaction of replacing Morris with Batch when there were (from the signings that have come later) better options out there has cost them big time. Even with the poor start from Laguta last night, Peterborough seem to have somehow come out of it all looking the better of those 4 sides. Sheffield have big hitters but a very long tail now and Kings Lynn still have a few injured or carrying injuries.
