How 2019 will work. Teams built for winning at home only. Away from home teams will ride with 7 guests who are track specialists to that paticular track.

That version looks very different to the actual updated rule book. Have you amended the above personally?? 15.14.3 Nominations must be a ‘qualified’ Rider, determined as either: a) A Rider in the top 3 of that Meeting’s Team by current MA (NB. A Team missing one of the top 3 and using the RR facility) may use the 4th highest Rider by MA. or b) A Top 5 points scorer (counting the 4 x programmed rides only, including bonus points). Excluding any rider who has already taken 7 rides or if one of those top 5 point scorers has already taken 7 rides then the 6th highest points scorer becomes a ‘qualified’ rider. (NB: No facility is available allowing another rider to be elevated to the qualified list if any of those top 5 points scorers are unavailable due to be withdrawn or has no equipment). _____________ There is interpretation to be had as R/R rides don't count as 'programmed rides'. The referee could have mistaken all of Bellago's rides as programmed which would have pushed Worrall to 6th in the meeting score due to his 2+1 was as an R/R. This giving Worrall the same score as Bellago. The fact that Worrall retired from a heat render his 4 points worse than Bellago's 4 points better because he completed his rides. The referee may have interpreted the rules correctly but marked the programmed rides incorrectly. An easy mistake to make.

Agree, but you might have to lose MPT too as Kerr is a cert for 2019.

Fixture shambles - An annual event
Daniel Smith replied to Hawk127's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
The Championship fixture struggle was down to Rob Godfrey's selfishness and bitterness. Cancelling weeks of team fixtures so he could use their rider's as guests. Chapman and Godfrey are a disaster partnership for British Speedway. They need to be removed come the BSPA AGM. -
You're a clever man Steve so be honest. You clearly said "less financial reward". If there's 'less financial reward', once lumping down £500,000, how soon would you expect that money to return? What about rider, staff, first aid, paramedic, material costs? Sponsorship remember, isn't part of the deal. Sponsorship is for the current owner to help finance the season and for them to sell their brand in return. Sponsorship is not Matt Ford's to sell.
-
There you go, £500,000 is to much of a business risk. If you wouldn't bother, why would a more professional business man go with it? £100,000 - £150,000 under the current climate of British Speedway is far more realistic.
-
Half a million The only person to fork out that kind of money would be a pro footballer looking for a new toy to play with. Any sensible, professional, self leveling business man wouldn't go anywhere near £500,000. Unusable rider assets and the Poole Pirates name are the only things up for sale. So total value to start with a new owner will be around £600,000 to £700,000 once BSPA bond, rider contracts etc etc are taken into account. Total madness, only a mug would take that on.

100% correct

When you see the difference in performance between some rider's and 'Polish Power' it's quite miraculous that Woffinden is even World Champion at all in 2018. It just thankful that the Poles struggle with pressure as individual rider's as the speed they generate from their equipment is odd compared to the rest.

Lambert to Robins, Doyle to Stars
Daniel Smith replied to ZagarRacing's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Those comments would be prior to the season finishing so to not upset the apple cart. We're all just going to have to wait and see. -
Lambert to Robins, Doyle to Stars

As daft as this thread may seen, with Lambert now living in Germany I think it would be a great deal for King's Lynn. If Lambert makes the 7 for Lublin, a team in Sweden and Denmark, also likely to ride in Germany I think it he'll not ride in Britain in 2019. He has no need to, especially if the sport over here dumbs down further. -
Niels lay off had nothing to do with concussion. He was hospitalised for neck and back concerns. Concussion never an issue. I'm well aware of head injuries as I've been out of work for 2 years thanks. Talking out my backside I am not. Something wasn't right with the Niels situation. When he spoke on the camera he himself said he's perfectly fine and is ready for the KO Cup. He could quite easily have ridden Wednesday but the the guest had already been booked Tuesday. I'm sorry, but something absolutely stinks about using Ellis, no blame on Ellis at all.

There has to be an importance to finishing top but I think because Speedway is a pretty minority sport, maybe the thinking is it would detract from the Play-Offs. Thus making the Play-Offs feel like a pointless trophy. If ever the European Team competition ever starts up again, maybe Play-Off winners and table toppers can qualify. Every league runs a Play-Off so would suit quite well with 8 clubs. Maybe in a 4's format. Obviously the rider situation will come up again with them riding all over the place but it can be over come.

I fully understand where you are coming from with regards NKI. He stood there in front of the camera last night and said he was perfectly fine. He felt rough on Monday but perfectly fine today and will be available for the KO Cup. So the question has to be, did the management choose purposely to sideline Niels to stop Poole having "the inform track specialist" in Ellis? Could easily explain why Ellis was such a shocker over the 2 meetings for us. If anyone watched Niels interview, something really didn't add up for me and I totally lost interest in the meeting from that point. I genuinely felt and still do feel like King's Lynn got what they deserved. I love that club to death but these last 2 seasons there's something about the management team that really really stinks for me. I cannot bare the thought of any of my money going into their pockets. As a Stars fan, the only support they'll get is away from home. Yes I am bitter but because I do really care. I do not trust this management team 1 bit. Everyone is always in uproar when Ford plays his games, it certainly smells like these games are also being played by King's Lynn also.

Klindt hates grippy tracks, Woryna and Jakobsen won't know what's hit them but I don't think King's Lynn will still have enough. Harris will love rolling in the deep and Grajczonek and Worrall will also not have a problem with it. R.Lambert, Jorgensen and Riss will be fine and S.Lambert can get 6-7 points on a deep circuit but it will hinder both Ellis and Proctor. Both slick specialists. So overall, tonight will finish up 48-42 to the Stars. Poole win the Premiership title.

King's Lynn ARE the reason all this has kicked off. Poole had Ellis and Morris booked as guests for Kurtz. King's Lynn booking Ellis for Monday, although not against the rule, made the sport look a total embarrassment by swapping guests for each leg. If everyone was totally honest with themselves, King's Lynn should have been made to find an alternative guest. Poole should have kept Morris and Ellis. There are other alternatives out there and Poole should have NO blame. There were alternatives available to King's Lynn, i.e. R/R, Jacob Thorssell, Hans Andersen, Ricky Wells and David Bellego. The first 3 being much clearer options. Stars fans 'disgracing' Poole and it's supporters for it's blinkered views are exactly the same. This whole sorry mess all started from King's Lynn 'disgracing' the sport and we all shouldn't get away from that. Yes there were terrible decisions from the referee in the meeting but these wouldn't have been as bigger issues had King's Lynn not gone 18 points down in the first 5 heats. We displayed an embarrassing start to the meeting. Also, just remember, had Jakobsen been excluded instead of MPT, he was still injured. Had he come out for the rerun as the adrenaline was flowing, 100% would have pulled up in that heat with a broken wrist. Result; 51-38. Although a bit of fighting spirit was shown by King's Lynn mid meeting it was still a pretty abysmal performance. People should wind their necks in, focus on tonight and try to turn this result around fair and square with what we've got. Regardless of whether Ellis and Howarth score 0, King's Lynn need 8+ from all of Jorgensen, Riss and Proctor. Double figures from R.Lambert to be expected and 3-4 from S.Lambert. Any points from Ellis and Howarth should be looked at as a bonus. We have to go into this meeting with our minds set as a 5 man team and our middle order has to be on form. If one of Jorgensen, Riss or Proctor flop, quite frankly we're in the poop and we only have ourselves to blame for the appalling display in the first leg. Fingers crossed all rider's end the night safely, both sets of fans have an enjoyable evening and the world becomes a happy place again. May the best team over the 2 legs win and good luck all

For me, Buster has dragged the sport down to almost irreparable harm. He's done that in just 2 years of chairmanship. Yes, Ford has been bad for the sport but that's only been allowed to happen because every other promoter has allowed it too. Ford is a virus, Chapman is a disease. I will never pass another £ into that man's pocket. I'll only watch the Stars away from home in future.
