  1. That doesn't surprise me with regards to Iversen. If it felt like he was making a statement he probably was. That's why during the Play-Offs I'm not buying the injury nonsense for the home leg. I firmly believe that Iversen was purposely stepped down to stop Poole using in form Ellis at the AFA. The Stars management tried to play games and it back fired. The choice of guests has been nothing short of abysmal too and strange that both Poole and Somerset managed to get it right. I'm not having availability nonsense either as other teams haven't had that problem. With regards to the track and the racing, it doesn't surprise me that it's still gate and go. The only way that will change is if Buster moves aside. The man is delusional so will never happen in the near future. With regards to Allitt, I'm not sure about stepping him down. I don't blame him at all. Unfortunately, every man at King's Lynn has to be a yes man to Buster, hence Rob Lyon stepped down as manager. His differing views were not to Buster's liking so was moved on. The problems at King's Lynn are firmly down to one man and one man only. He is single handily destroying the club and he has a personality that he feel untouchable. Yes, some say King's Lynn have had a good season by finishing top of the table. Numbers wise they have but racing wise has there been an exceptional meeting to watch? Have you been given value for money? Think of the fuel spent, admission costs, spend at the outlets at the stadium, food to and from the meetings etc. That should be the question Stars fans genuinely ask themselves. For me, as a Stars fan I'll continue to pick and choose meetings away from home. Far more enjoyable than anything that happens at the AFA.
  2. We don't always bottle big fixtures, we don't get to many big fixtures to claim we always bottle them
  3. The Stars faulted because of poor performances from R.Lambert and Proctor. The reserves practically done their job with a 5-1 in heat 2. It's up to the rest of the team to then cover the reserves in the other heats. Bubble has exploded on the Stars season, today's result not influenced by MPT being missing. Especially as Jack Holder's replacement only bagged 6 point. There are no excuses for King's Lynn's end of season performances, beaten by the better teams in both finals.
  4. Can't use the same guest as the opposition in any finals. New rule
  5. "Yeah, but but but, WEEEEEE finished top, so we're the reeeeeeal champions So ner nerna ner ner."
  6. Not quite. Rider's that were in both leagues kept their Championship averages. In my opinion, rider's in both leagues should have their Premiership average converted regardless. It's a truer reflection of their standards.
  7. That was dropped due to priority given to each different leagues race nights. Hence why Iversen did Sweden, Denmark, UK and Poland. There's absolutely no chance of Lambert giving up on the Danish league as that has way better quality rider's than British Speedway. Even the German league is of similar standard, if not slightly better than the UK. Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, UK is probably the World Speedway order in terms of top league standards. With how poorly fixtures are planned here with huge gaps in the calendar and then forced double headers, it makes no sense in Robert continuing with British Speedway at all.
  8. Even then, I couldn't be bothered with the Play-Offs as they were live on TV. At £20+, I feel justified as each meeting proved not to be value for money racing wise.
  9. Not to far off my thinking but I'd say convert to Championship is more accurate of ability. What I mean by that is any rider that has a Premiership average has their average converted to Championship. That includes rider's who ride in the Championship. They have to use their converted Premiership average. As an example, instead of Rory Schlein having a Championship average as it currently stands at 8.59, if you convert his Premiership average he'd be 10.40. That would make rider's that really shouldn't be in the Championship less attractive.
  10. At least there's an attempt at thinking through fixes for the sport but far to many holes and contradiction in the plan. British Speedway needs to start over from scratch. Two tiers of league racing. ______________ All rider's in British Speedway to be given Championship level averages Championship 38 team average Premiership 55 team average This allows GP / Top international rider's to still be employed by Premiership teams. Any rider's sign to Polish contracts will not be allowed to compete at Championship level. _________________ Reserves in the championship must be 2 NL rider's, 23 and under. Premiership, one NL rider at reserve 23 and under. _____________ Championship, two rider's over 7 average only and must contain 4 British riders per team (including the NL reserves). Premiership 3 over 7, one of which must be British. 3 rider's (including the NL reserve) must be British. ________________ That would be my starting point of rebuilding British Speedway.
  11. Main talking point has to be the removal of Chapman and Godfrey
  12. How 2019 will work. Teams built for winning at home only. Away from home teams will ride with 7 guests who are track specialists to that paticular track.
  13. That version looks very different to the actual updated rule book. Have you amended the above personally?? 15.14.3 Nominations must be a ‘qualified’ Rider, determined as either: a) A Rider in the top 3 of that Meeting’s Team by current MA (NB. A Team missing one of the top 3 and using the RR facility) may use the 4th highest Rider by MA. or b) A Top 5 points scorer (counting the 4 x programmed rides only, including bonus points). Excluding any rider who has already taken 7 rides or if one of those top 5 point scorers has already taken 7 rides then the 6th highest points scorer becomes a ‘qualified’ rider. (NB: No facility is available allowing another rider to be elevated to the qualified list if any of those top 5 points scorers are unavailable due to be withdrawn or has no equipment). _____________ There is interpretation to be had as R/R rides don't count as 'programmed rides'. The referee could have mistaken all of Bellago's rides as programmed which would have pushed Worrall to 6th in the meeting score due to his 2+1 was as an R/R. This giving Worrall the same score as Bellago. The fact that Worrall retired from a heat render his 4 points worse than Bellago's 4 points better because he completed his rides. The referee may have interpreted the rules correctly but marked the programmed rides incorrectly. An easy mistake to make.
  14. It may not be, but the pressures of the situation can throw people off. There's no sport in the world where the referee's get everything 100% accurate. There's nobody who can interpret every rule 100% accurate. Interpretation is the rule.
  15. That's not fair on the referee's. The people writing the rules don't even understand them and interpret them differently. What chance to the referee's have to be 100% accurate.
  16. Agree, but you might have to lose MPT too as Kerr is a cert for 2019.
  17. The Championship fixture struggle was down to Rob Godfrey's selfishness and bitterness. Cancelling weeks of team fixtures so he could use their rider's as guests. Chapman and Godfrey are a disaster partnership for British Speedway. They need to be removed come the BSPA AGM.
  18. You're a clever man Steve so be honest. You clearly said "less financial reward". If there's 'less financial reward', once lumping down £500,000, how soon would you expect that money to return? What about rider, staff, first aid, paramedic, material costs? Sponsorship remember, isn't part of the deal. Sponsorship is for the current owner to help finance the season and for them to sell their brand in return. Sponsorship is not Matt Ford's to sell.
  19. There you go, £500,000 is to much of a business risk. If you wouldn't bother, why would a more professional business man go with it? £100,000 - £150,000 under the current climate of British Speedway is far more realistic.
  20. Half a million The only person to fork out that kind of money would be a pro footballer looking for a new toy to play with. Any sensible, professional, self leveling business man wouldn't go anywhere near £500,000. Unusable rider assets and the Poole Pirates name are the only things up for sale. So total value to start with a new owner will be around £600,000 to £700,000 once BSPA bond, rider contracts etc etc are taken into account. Total madness, only a mug would take that on.
  21. When you see the difference in performance between some rider's and 'Polish Power' it's quite miraculous that Woffinden is even World Champion at all in 2018. It just thankful that the Poles struggle with pressure as individual rider's as the speed they generate from their equipment is odd compared to the rest.
  22. Those comments would be prior to the season finishing so to not upset the apple cart. We're all just going to have to wait and see.
  23. As daft as this thread may seen, with Lambert now living in Germany I think it would be a great deal for King's Lynn. If Lambert makes the 7 for Lublin, a team in Sweden and Denmark, also likely to ride in Germany I think it he'll not ride in Britain in 2019. He has no need to, especially if the sport over here dumbs down further.
