  1. Riss and Jorgensen have really gone off the boil a bit I agree. If they're the same tonight we're then relying on Simon Lambert to turn it on. Even 16 points from MPT wouldn't save us. If Robert has a duff one we'll need Iversen to come to the party and he's been inconsistent at home. If Belle Vue can hit us early again then that may rattle the home side. Regardless of the teams, Play-Off Speedway throws up a random result now and again. If the Stars go into this meeting thinking it's done, they'll be beaten. We need to go into this meeting early on like the scores are 0-0.
  2. I don't know why but today I have a bad feeling about tonight. I think Belle Vue will turn this over. Fingers firmly crossed we do make it. COME ON THE STARS !!!!!!
  3. Poole will win this comfortably if they don't race Doyle. Let him get his 15 point max and just target his partner. Doyle isn't a team man so won't get involved if his partner is in trouble. The target has to be 3-3 every Doyle heat, anything better is a bonus.
  4. I'm assuming he's on about Matt Ford leaves
  5. Twice, more like 3 home 3 away, ko cup as well with top 4 Play-Offs. So that's facing some teams up to 6 times in a season. Thrilling stuff
  6. So who are the others? You yourself have only mentioned 4 clubs that want to maintain or better the product. So, who are these others you talk about??
  7. Some of the best times as a Speedway fan for me has been in the second tier of British Speedway. I'm not all that bothered by "star names" as such but what I don't want to see is rider's expelled from British Speedway because some can't afford them. The door should always be open for them if they're prepared to accept the wages and promoters are willing to pay.
  8. Bigger league I agree, but certainly not just 1 big league.
  9. If Leicester go down, that also has to mean Sheffield up as they both have the same management teams.
  10. http://www.swindonrobins.co/_mobile/news.php?extend.3184.1 You do realise it's was genuine clutch failures, with many shattered brand new clutch plates for the poor performances. Rosco treats fans like mugs once again. I used to have so much respect for Rosco but in the last couple of years since taking on the promoter role, he's become like the ordinary, out dated, wool over the eyes type owner this sport is already way to over crowded with. Swindon, Great Britain and the British Speedway fans in general needs the old honest Rosco. This "standard" promoter stance he has right now doesn't sit well with me and no Swindon fan is falling for it either.
  11. I'm totally not bothered, Flange is a try hard, he makes me laugh anyway.
  12. New averages are out and Toft remains at reserve.
  13. Maybe, maybe not but one thing for certain is I fully expect something to go wrong for us. Winning the top league has always been a bit of a bogey for this club. There is some kind of voodoo over us.
  14. The most radical thing that needs to happen is to move Ipswich, Peterborough, Glasgow and Sheffield to the top division. 1 big league will shut clubs down at a more rapid rate than today. I'm giving this thread a wide birth now because the 1 big league seems to be the saviour to the sport with no real means of how behind it, so no more needs to be discussed.
  15. But people are missing the point. Even if team building was unlimited, when you factor in injuries and retirements things start to get messy. It's ok saying employ NL rider's but when ends don't meet for them and they have to quit (which many do) then there's an extra problem for clubs, in both the 1 big league and the NL. Then also you'll have the problem of clubs miles behind in the league table going out of business because fans won't justify paying for it when things are going so badly. Then we're shrinking the sport in this country even further, creating a less viable product. I think we have to find a solution for 3 leagues. Bring at least another few clubs up from the Championship. The Premiership needs to run with a minimum of 10 teams. The wages at 2 paticular Championship clubs must be just as high as some pay in the Premiership. Ipswich and Glasgow spring to mind. For the top league also, I think the Bates are looking and/or being asked to swap Leicester for Sheffield. The latter being more financially stable. It's ok just knocking teams up, or saying teams can only jave 1 or 2 over 8 etc etc but some rider's will or won't ride for certain clubs. There are far to many risk factors currently to push 1 big league. May be, and it's a little more out their, that every Premiership club has to have a tie in with a Championship club and they have to share 3 rider's per team. Any injuries has to come from the tie in club first. Something like that anyway.
  16. I await with baited breath to see 18 teams built to 40-45 averages and see how many rider's are left over, or teams that can't even make up the average at all.
  17. But the world was our oyster then when we had the luxury of any rider in the World. Now it's difficult to get anybody to commit to British Speedway. So yes, one big league is TOTALLY unworkable once rider's start to get injured.
  18. Correct, and I agree from the neutral point of view. So how come the Stars rider's struggled early on in the meeting saying the track was way slicker than normal. Aces fans saying Monday was one of the worst meeting of the season. Coincidentally the track was different on a Play-Off night hey. It was total nonsense that the track was a little greasy because of cold conditions, the track was altered for home advantage which almost paid off. So, if King's Lynn produce an ultra grippy surface to try and win the meeting by heat 9 it's swings and roundabouts. In the Play-Offs, doesn't matter which club, which track, which rider's, the end goal is winning. Doesn't matter how bad the racing is to promoters because finals bring punters in regardless. What I'm not saying though is I agree with that but at the same time I understand why promoters 9/10 times choose that route of theory. All about the winning not the racing at this stage in the season.
