King's Lynn Stars 2017
Daniel Smith replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
So, why will the equivalent to Holder be missing too? Only Lindgren is in the SGP that could come in as Doyle's average is to high. Somerset V King's Lynn is the only Premiership fixture on that night. I don't see a problem with the fixture arrangement at all. -
Agree, there's enough in that top 5 in the current format to cover poor scores from reserve. As the season goes on both Bewley and Smith will get better, especially with the brilliant home track they have. Belle Vue will go unbeaten at home if they keep the same 7 all year
-
Yep, Belle Vue the team to beat. Great looking side

Belle Vue & Somerset are the best 2 tracks in the Premiership. Leicester has had reshape so we'll see how that performs but the new shape looks good. Saddlebow race circuit has slipped big time over the last few years and become more gate and go -
You just need the minimum paid subscription with Sky and all the functions will be available. Skysports, Movies are unnecessary extras

Team Gb T2day Training
Daniel Smith replied to ashtree123's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I'd only seen the group photo that was taken and couldn't see him in it -
But they don't take into consideration the NL 2.5% reduction. Dan Bewley is 3.90

#WheresLambert ? If Rosco is true to his word that's him out of the GB team -
Agree with some that this should be seen as a new start by all for British Speedway. Maybe us fans should also take responsibility too. If the league structure works and we are happy with the racing provided we all need to continue attending trackside whether meetings are on TV or not. No club has put a reduction on admission prices so I think they should be responsible for using a % of admission prices for adding extra entertainment FOC to the fans. There is loads of stuff that can be used for give-aways and not just for kids either.

Belle Vue National Stadium
Daniel Smith replied to PHILIPRISING's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
It makes business sense for both parties. The way I read it is that Adrian will run the stadium but everything taken on will have to be approved by MCC. After 12 months of all is run smoothly MCC will agree terms to run the whole site. It offers protection to the new owners as to whether ventures outside of Speedway are viable. For the MCC it gives them 12 months of full visibility of the day to day running. The concern will be in 12 months if these new owners can't get a business plan together and run up huge debts the MCC will have to review the position of the stadium i.e. whether it's cost effective in the long term. The MCC and the new owners are not concerned about loses, it's expected in year 1-2. As long as all bills are paid and a % return is made from 'outside sources' the MCC will approve the new owners to move forward alone. -
While true Brandon is the Bees fans home. If by some miracle £4m could be raised most would prefer that spent on the existing site than a new venture

It's pretty obvious what's happening here. The land owners are waiting on the sale of already built properties. Once enough are occupied and Swindon's 2017 season gets started they'll ask the new tenants about noise. Once the noise complaints start coming in it gives the builder's the power over the council to change the plans.

Big Al's request doesn't need to go to that extreme. Just a simple google search brought this up from Leicester today

The Goalposts Have Moved So...
Daniel Smith replied to thebaron's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Utter nonsense. How fair would it be on the rest of the league for King's Lynn to drop Bailey for Kerr or Rye House drop Perks for Sargeant? You really think that's fair just because Coventry folded. It'll make more of a mockery of British Speedway. -

There could be many with the Ekstraliga looking to run meetings Friday, Saturday and Sunday. That's not overly the issue, the problem comes with their rearranged fixtures that could take place mid week. Poland are demanding from their league riders that these too are priority over any other league. Every club that has an Ekstraliga rider will be having the same issues. If it comes to the crunch and Buster says no, Holder will leave rather than be pushed as this demand from Poland is in his interest too because there's no way he'll give up the Torun position. -
We are talking about the same Sandhu that was so far in debt that the bank sold the stadium from underneath him right?

Challenge meetings are done often but at the top 2 levels it's usually the opening meeting of a season thus bringing in decent crowds due to the winter break. Most challenge matches that take place throughout the season tend to be of NL standard. Fact, when the real stuff starts Premiership / Championship fans of the host club will not be interested. That may come across as harsh with the position Coventry are in but that's how it is.
-
I just don't see how the challenge meetings will work!?! With no income from home meetings the finances would have to be raised by the hosting team. To make it viable, attendances would have to double to which will never be likely. I can't see 1000+ travelling Bees fans going around the country for what are in all tense and purposes pointless meetings.
-
At the same time, if that's Sky's get-out clause they then can't stop another broadcaster taking over the TV rights
-
Could be anything Sandhu taking over Stadium sale confirmation Planning permission granted Bees rights sold to a totally new investor Stock cars returning etc etc etc It may be totally irrelevant news, who knows.
