  1. Just started reading the latest Speedy Star, Jon Cook must have been completely p!$$€d up when doing his Premiership review. Spat my drink out when saw King's Lynn 7th He "don't think they'll really challenge for the Play-Offs" and the team "looks a fairly average pick" The tw@ even has Somerset above us
  2. £15.79 a meeting and you haven't got the hassle of potential threat of none result rain-offs I shall be purchasing my first ever season ticket
  3. Proper interval is missing for a reason, it's not needed. TV is the reason for how I've set the schedule and every meeting should run the same. Other things can't be helped with delays, that part and parcel. The thing that grates is when run smoothly, once the previous heats riders have left the track why is the 2mins not always on straight away? No excuse for that.
  4. It's not just Simon's testimonial It's the way meetings have been run since the return to the top league. There certainly is far more faffing about than the PL days, it can only really be put down to trying to get the tills dinging through food and drink. There have been times where intervals have dragged on for near 30mins when in truth no interval is required at all. The race day schedule should be the same for all and fits in with TV too and be strictly adhered to by the clerk of the course and referee: From Ht1 2mins to Ht2 2mins - 5mins Ht2 - 5mins Ht3 - 5mins Ht4 - 5mins Break - 5mins (adverts - track grade) Ht5 - 5mins Ht6 - 5mins Ht7 - 5mins Ht8 - 5mins Break - 5mins (adverts - track grade) Ht9 - 5mins Ht10 - 5mins Ht11 - 5mins Ht12 - 5mins Break - 5mins (adverts - track grade) Ht13 - 5mins Ht14 - 5mins Ht15 - 10mins (Inc advert, heat line-up, track grade) = 1hr35mins Anyone could accept that, the obvious further delays come with the sport but when things go smoothly there's no need for meetings to go beyond that time scale.
  5. Am looking forward to seeing the competitive season under way for the Stars
  6. I'm all for a 7.30 heat 1. If there's people still queuing to get in at that time, it's simple - fook'm
  7. Unfortunately, delays are inevitable at King's Lynn. Low sun the main reason
  8. They haven't spent £360k. They've given Gerhard a guarantee of that figure over a time period, say 3-4 years. If Gerhard hasn't received that number of sales the BSPA will pay the remaining balance or a renegotiated deal to be carried over. Gerhard certainly hasn't knocked up £360k worth of equipment
  9. I think that's a different kind of sport that's only allocated to the adult channels
  10. Do you have any idea at all how the bond works? It's for each individual clubs protection. Example, if King's Lynn come the end of the season owes money then the King's Lynn bond is there to cover King's Lynn debts. The bonds are not clubbed together so a club can go £200,000 in the red and be bailed out, that makes no sense at all to do that.
  11. Don't think Troy has proved to be a class act at the top level just yet but more and more riders these days seem to be hitting their peak in their 30's so still time yet
  12. To the Leicester fans - does the new track look encouraging? Some riders seem to think so but the fans view is far more important
  13. They'll be of higher quality + different manufacturer most probably Just seen the pics again and Holder doesn't have a new suit. He's wearing his Swedish club suit
  14. It's in the sponsors Trucks R Us colours. I hate the new suits with a passion. King's Lynn Stars are Blue & Yellow and these colours should be the most dominant, not f'in black
  15. It's not about believing, it's now down to BVA to prove without all considerable doubt that they were not involved with the track build. Just a personal opinion to the question, does it make sense for BVA to agree to substandard material? In fact, yes it does. It's already been made clear that BVA had no track building experts 1 of 3 BVA members could have just said 'just get it done, nobody needs to know. I won't say anything' BVA would have been desperate to get the track completed for opening night
  16. I hope so for their own personal sake. Taking on any council for such a high value can be hugely financially damaging if they lose. Obviously the loses are already big but this court case could end up catastrophic. Regardless of my thoughts on the case, as a human being I certainly don't wish the people involved in BVA serious financial hardships to the point they and the family end up on the street.
  17. Surely Belle Vue has to be in consideration as a 2nd UK venue?
  18. It's either muddying the waters or fact. Either way, what the MCC have done is put it in BVA's court to prove that they were involved in the track build. If BVA can't prove they wasn't involved in the track build the legal case for losses will collapse. It's as simple as that. The whole case is about BVA recovering losses which predominantly is all around track issues. MCC have obviously got something in hand to cover themselves.
  19. Personally, I'd go Simon Lambert on a 5.26 That would give you 3.43 to replace Shanes
  20. I assume you wasn't standing anywhere near turns 1-2 then as dust was a big problem. Absolutely covered head to toe by the end of the meeting. But you're right in that had it been an evening meeting it would have run much quicker simply because less track work would have been needed Standing in between turns 1-2 I was very grateful of the track grades and watering. Yes, I do agree it was a long afternoon but I suppose, because I expected it being quite a warm sunny afternoon & a GP format meeting I thoroughly enjoyed it. In fact, has any SGP / SEC / SWC meeting ever been completed in 2hrs? All in all 27 Heats 7 Heats Rerun 3 Due To Tape Replacements 4 Crashes 3 Of Which Required Medical Attention, Lambert's (rightly so) causing the longest delay The start was delayed but while Lambert was on parade we were treated to an RAF Marham flyby with 6 Tornado GR4's flanking the A330 Voyager (Air to Air Refueller). All part of the show I'd say All in all, a great afternoon out I'd say
  21. They don't need to. Just the fact that BVA and the track curator being in dialogue during the track build cover their backside. So, you can make that look a number of ways. ISG removed it without anyone else knowing MCC advised ISG to remove it but that would make no sense as the MCC required it as evidence to claim against ISG BVA advised ISG to remove the material ASAP as they were getting extremely desperate to get the season under way after the opening night balls-up Issue is, it requires somebody to admit they gave authority but everyone is blaming somebody else. This is where it's at right now MCC could/have claimed compensation against ISG which is the correct process being they're the ones spending the big bucks BVA are looking to claim losses/damages against MCC predominantly due to the issue with the track, to which caused BVA to loss income revenue. What the MCC have done is state BVA, as track specialists, were in dialogue with ISG over the track build. In law, for BVA to be successful in claiming loss of revenue from MCC they now have to prove they WERE NOT involved in the build of the track.
  22. I'm assuming that the Spiller brothers have signed their allegiance to Germany then?
  23. You did and the rule states that 2 Brits have to be in the 1-7 all season.
