Atmosphere is as huge a problem than anything else. For me proof was in the pudding i.e. World Cup meetings at King's Lynn. On the backstraight a lot of us were bouncing up and down singing songs. Now, if I try to do that at King's Lynn for a league match it will be a case of "who's that d!k". Even a bit of shouting you get told to "wind it in soon". In general, Norfolk folk are a boring bunch and difficult to 'fire up'. This is also proven with the football at Norwich City. The dreary "on the ball city" is sung and to increase noise they get given clappers. CLAPPERS ffs. Norfolk for ya. After all that, for me you are correct. What makes speedway boring?- Watch a race - have a chat Watch a race - listen to crappie music Watch a race - stand and stare bored Watch a race - go have a sh!+ to kill more boredom etc etc I'd like to have some Norfolk folk that feel like me and want to get a bit singy shouty as I'm quite energetic and need to be doing something all the time. No matter how crap the racing is it would still be a good night Absolutely spot on "BRING BACK GRIPPY TRACKS"

Or you have a No'8 who can then replace any of the 1-5 at any time making no RR at all

Probably would have done but Peterborough are also racing Thursday night -
Could Woffy Be Making An El Return?
Daniel Smith replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
He doesn't have to with the No'8 rule. Could sign for a team & just race a handful of fixtures & the No'8 rides the rest -
The PL is definitely on a stronger footing than the EL regardless of what some EL snobs would have you try & believe. The package as a whole of competitiveness, rider & supporter interaction is much much stronger.
-
It's difficult to explain what the hell is going on the EL, in fact it's a bit of a comedy show. All in all though, the reason for such a low average in the British top league is we can't attract the talent. EL clubs in 2016 couldn't even manage to hit the 40.50 limit Start of 2016 Belle Vue 39.71 Coventry 37.07 King's Lynn 38.06 Lakeside 39.73 Leicester 36.25 Poole 39.93 Swindon 38.61 Wolverhampton 39.38
-
Yes but the 45 averages if I remember correctly included riders bonus points, whereas the 42 doesn't (40.50 in the EL)
-
But not with Wolverhampton? Wolves fans have always told us that if Woffy rides for any other EL team Pete Adams would no longer work with him. That now seems to be the case and with the dropping of the Heatleader list for May are things slotting into place for an EL return? Where would he go? https://www.instagram.com/p/BEYRkISFvLN/

Nobody has a problem with that at all. The problem is the format & the fact that the likes of Klindt will be in reserve, taking possibly 7 riders and likely taking a ride away from the promoted reserve and have 2 reserve heats. That's the problem

King's Lynn 1. Niels K Iversen 2. Mads Korneliussen 3. Robert Lambert 4. Kai Huckenbeck 5. Sam Masters (G) 6. Carl Wilkinson 7. Lewis Rose Leicester 1. Patrick Hougaard 2. Paul Starke 3. Aaron Summers 4. R/R 5. Freddie Lindgren (G) 6. Nicolai Klindt 7. Josh Auty Updated:- Paul Starke has moved to No'8 with Klindt to No'6

Don't agree at all. At King's Lynn you needed throttle control to negotiate the bends and rider's and you hear them do it. Now its slick its pretty much maximum throttle all the way round. Of course bikes will react with dirt now because nobody knows how to set their machinery for that only to have their throttle twisted south to the maximum.

He has as much right to moan about it as anyone else. He's probably had to use it more often than any of us ever hopes to
-
What was wrong with the post you'd quoted. Bit harsh to have a dig at Steve But in general you're quite right. Schlein is set to be sidelined for a few weeks and people moan about where he wasn't his treatment to take place. Frankley, that's none of anyone's business except his

I was assuming that's what Speedy was implying, with regards to replacing Schlein rather than Iversen? Come in on 6.55 ave

For me, the biggest factor that has made speedway more boring is all tracks are super slick. This then allows for less mistakes from the rider's which they'd prefer. For the fan's, mistakes allow for overtaking thus creating a better atmosphere. Whether that be to your teams advantage or disadvantaged. Another is Speedway's refusal to absorb modern technology. Instead they're rapping on the knuckles & banning it.
-
The strange thing is I to find Speedway boring but just keep going in hope. I believe there's a age group that struggle to tolerate the sport 0-20 can't get enough of it 21-30 it's not cool enough 31-50 It's an irritation 51-dead find the love again

Daniel Smith replied to PolskiZuzel's topic in International World of Speedway
I did say could but there isn't an awful lot between the 2 Vetlanda - Leszno will certainly be 1-2, just going with Leszno as favourites for me. -

Speedway Champions League ?

Having now seen the full draw for with all teams & riders side by side, Belle Vue have a good chance of finishing 3rd imo. The Danish outfit looks just as weak -
Swindon V Wolves 14th April
Daniel Smith replied to crazysue's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
& no, Swindon can't have Batchelor back (who is by far & away better than the guff you currently have ) -
Absolutely nothing. His Mum confirms it isn't his back but the silence is worrying to say the least. After last year an awful lot of people are concerned

Looks like Buster Chapman (BSPA Chairman & King's Lynn owner) is getting involved in Dubai Translation is pretty horrendous so apologies for that https://translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl=en&sl=pl&u=http://www.przegladsportowy.pl/znamy-nazwiska-budowniczych-toru-na-bliskim-wschodzie,artykul,663540,1,12427.html&prev=search
