Batchelor has just Tweeted he's gained an extra meeting back for May. So definitely returning

If Newman finishes with an 8 average that's his EL career fooked in an instant as no club will touch him, including Poole

Matt Ford - No Sympathy
Daniel Smith replied to damosuzuki's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I asked regarding the reserve picks at King's Lynn the other week. 2016 had no draft picks. There was a reserve list divided into 2 tiers by Premier League averages Clubs & rider's could choose where they wanted to be -
Not much interest around this fixture?!?! I know the feeling It does look like another weather interference will affect this fixture though

Matt Ford - No Sympathy
Daniel Smith replied to damosuzuki's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yep, I have no problem with what Matt has said because he's RIGHT. -
I'd say go but choose carefully. Pick the venue Pick the visitors Pick the weather Do that for all of 2016 the sport may suck you back in ready for 2017 on

This is a fortnightly podcast set up by Eastern Daily Press sports reporter Gavin Carney. It's a national speedway podcast so it's relevant to all speedway fans, give them a listen. All feedback welcome per links below and get involved. Dried up? Twitter and Facebook has been full of Stars news this week. Far more than when Gent was around. Can't say whether that's Gent's fault or whether the club are making a point. Either way, this week has been an improvement for communication imo

I can see what you mean by that. To me and I've said it in the past that I think Robert is a carbon copy of Chris Harris. Can't gate for toffee and it will hold him back. When Wroclaw were in town, young Pole Drabik is a similar age and a mile ahead in development.

Belle Vue V Leicester Friday 8th April.
Daniel Smith replied to nw42's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
If the weather doesn't get in the way this could be exactly the track Leicester's Pole's will enjoy. Away win 42-48 -
I use to say that but it's actually not true. It's more about the VFM. Game is changing in that alot of rider's train like athletes and their machinery is of exceptional high standard. This in turn allows the rider's to make fewer & fewer mistakes. Add to that, tracks today are billiard tables Thus meaning 9/10 times races are done after the 1st lap. Most action on track that happens after the first lap tends to be because someone's machine is a little faster than another. Thinking about it, having identical standard bikes could make the situation worse and totally rely on gating. What speedway needs, for every track to have the dirt about 2" deep all over. That would make things much more exciting and set out the men from the boys & imo deliver the VFM needed then £17 wouldn't be a problem.

I have thought that maybe the elite league racing could become a 4TT still using the home and away format. Home: King's Lynn v Poole v Swindon v Belle Vue Away: Poole v Lakeside v King's Lynn v Wolverhampton The if teams wish to also run the traditional 7 man format they could enter the PL or NL
-
JC, how financially viable would you see speedway if say:- 6 man teams 10 team league Each club supply (own) 18 identical machines for riders + cover repair bills per season. Start of season top heatleader picks 3 from 18 machines, 2nd in averages picks 3 from 15 etc. Machines are then tagged to said rider's. Only 2 machines per rider per meeting. Any rider can use any of the other 10 team members machines per meeting after completing 2 rides. Etc etc etc Could taking the equipment away from the riders responsibility reduce costs?

Bt Sports Costs
Daniel Smith replied to sportmaniaphotos's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
It really is amazing how different customers can be treated by the same company. I only have everything but praise for BT after they called me back and offered a better deal when I didn't ask for it. Are you a ranter & raver down the phone? -
If I had a helicopter I'd be requesting Air Traffic Control find me & anyone else alternative routes so the speedway vortex doesn't suck us in. Makes you unhappy but you can't find a way out until you finally crash.

You're right that we've had brilliant tracks in the past but we've had to wait around until 8.30 for heat 1. Also we've more than enough stinkers too. Then we'd see the next speedway debacle of the 'race to heat 10' while huge black clouds linger. While the race to heat 10 is on us fans stand around counting the discount value if the meeting doesn't make 10 heats. In hindsight, the right thing has been done but in totally the wrong way with no real explanation. That's what has got people's goat's more than anything

No

After all my moaning this week I think King's Lynn & or Sky made the right call. Last thing we'd want as fans is to watch Buster doing track work until 8.30 then another shower comes in.
-
What I can gather it will be BT Sports 2, same as MotoGP As an existing customer you should be able to get the full sports for £3 month extra atm.

It was never in doubt who you were. But you could of at least smiled ya miserable git Real name: Danny Smith Twitter: KLStarsFan

Are you really not seeing anything wrong with the way King's Lynn is currently run? Sadly many that have been attending for 20+ years have walked. This is purely down to how the fans feel they're treated. £17 to just stand there and watch possessional racing then go home. Today, that just isn't enough
-
Impossible, King's Lynn are on the ball when it comes to notifying about changes

Kings Lynn Stars V Belle Vue Aces 31/3
Daniel Smith replied to semion's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I hope he has a right stinker of a season after he let us down badly last season. -
Kings Lynn Stars V Belle Vue Aces 31/3
Daniel Smith replied to semion's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Huge test on paper but Belle Vue have had next to no track time so I'm expecting a heavy home win 55-37 -
As expected, garbage
