  1. What may scare buyers at the moment is the fact Harris and Lambert had an engine go pop. The service intervals may be few and far between, but what's a blown engines repair bill going to be??
  2. http://www.fim-live.com/en/article/fim-team-player-management-wsl/ "Polish and English fans could also enjoy the opening of speedway season with the First International Pre-Season Speedway Cup in Kings Lynn. The second edition of this highly successful tournament will be held on the 20th of March 2016 in Kings Lynn" Looks like we're (King's Lynn) having a season opener the same as last season. Great stuff

  4. You seem to have lost the development of the thread. It's not just kids that need attracting to speedway. It's all ages. To get people through the gates expectations have to be met. First & formost, to a newbie in this modern day the action tends to be irrelevant initially. When you visit somewhere for the first time it's what you see and feel as a venue that can grab you. We're similar I'm sure in that we could happily watch a meeting in a cow field p!ss against a tree if needed etc. I'm happy with the standard of the AFA, as are 1200 others that turn up week in week out. Just remember what this thread is about. Attracting new punters. On that basis, the AFA still is nowhere near up to scratch. These simply need to sink in with some fans & promoter's. Speedway venues up and down the country will be compared to Old Trafford, Wembley, O2 Arena, Sheffield Arena etc. It's what today's expectations are if we want to deliver to crowds of 3-4-5,000+ on a weekly basis rather than 1,000 today.
  5. I feel I need to address some things here. I can't go along with the below at all. Yes, Buster has transformed the NA from a ramshackle to a tidy venue but still lacks tremendously compared to modern stadia / arenas Toilets - state of the art my fart box. They're cleaned portakabins. Nothing else. New bar - portakabins VIP boxes - portakabins Referees box - portakabin New turnstiles - no better than the old version, still 2 entrances with guys tearing off stubs as you walk in Grandstand - We have seats, wow. These are exposed to the elements and for that privilege you're charged an extra £1. Seating should be a given and is inclusive at any venue within the admission charge. In fact, I'd say there's less seating than the old stadium in the 90's. Both either side of the referees box and under cover. In terms of where the Adrian Flux Arena is now compared to stadium expectations, we're maybe at around the early to mid 1990's. We're still 2-3 decades behind being 'state of the art', let's be realistic about that. In fact, during the World Cup (to which my mrs and her friends came along) they still referred to the AFA as "a s#!+ hole". There complaints were the queues for the food outlets and the toilets. Outrageous compared to concert venues at stadiums / arenas they visit every year. I went to Old Trafford a couple of weeks back for the 1st time in about 10-15 years. Not a single queue in sight, dealing with almost 80,000 punters. That is the customer service speedway is up against.
  6. 1, Doyle 2, Iversen 3, Janowski 4, Jonsson 5, Ward 6, Zagar 7, Zengota Just can't be beaten
  7. As much as people won't take much notice of this post, it is absolutely bang on the money with that 1st sentence. How old is their youngest member of the BSPA?
  8. The thing is, the BSPA are blocking modernisation of the sport. Mike Bennett our presenter, use to use Twitter to interact with fans so direct questions could be asked to rider's / management, birthday messages etc etc. It was banned by the BSPA. Small interactions like that help fill gaps
  9. I think everyone is looking at this completely the wrong way round. How do we attract youngsters, YOU HAVE TO ATTRACT THE PARENTS. Kids can't attend without them. Personally though, we need to aim our attention at the age group of peeps in their early 20's. The majority have money, no commitments to worry about etc How about group discount, this age group goes everywhere with mates and partners. Lads / Lasses group nights, 20% off admission with free drink. Discounts with a local taxi firm to take punters to the town centres etc after meetings If there are 4 or more people in a vehicle they get a 30% admission voucher Onsite bar with cheaper than town centre beer and club tunes / live bands There are loads of things to try that would be cheaper for promoters to deliver than paying a GP riders wages
  10. Correct, and you could see things going in the right direction 10yr ago. Since the cronies thought they could do better British Speedway has slipped back another 20. Unfortunately, as I've said previously, Buster is on a loser as anything he wants to change, the old boys will still have the power to veto anything that is progressive.
  11. I think jc would agree with that. After knocking up the super7 series (forward thinking) the old cronies got their hands on it and totally fooked it up. Anyway, great to still see ya popping in now and again fella. Think it's safe to say, you're better off out of this game as it's one serious sinking ship Your old man has a stinker of a job trying to save British Speedway's future
  12. So, we are just a few hours away from having a genuine No'1 announced. Or are we?!?!?!
  13. John Cook, There's only 1 group of people within speedway that are "thick, biased or both". BSPA is such a group, the problems facing British Speedway are now at a point that they are beyond fixing thanks to you & your friends short sighted fook-ups
  14. Just like Niels had his fans meeting which you was expecting him to stay but he didn't. I don't believe the next signing will have an average over 7.00
  15. Those that want Roscoe sacked need to explain is, which Brits he should of signed over what he's already got? Woffy not in the EL Harris and King always staying at Cov Lambert at King's Lynn So what people are saying is Swindon should run a Premier League outfit in the Elite League?
  16. I think the choice has to be between him & Roynon. Not much else to choose from
  17. Hasn't that been the problem with the riders we've had. Only Robert Lambert could make a pass happen
  18. Yep, he certainly had all that last time he rode for us. I believe him coming back can recapture that belief in himself.
  19. I'm so chuffed Mads is back, Buster is being true to his word in delivering a side that has more heart, passion and entertainment. Certainly should deliver some racing
  20. I can't see Buster paying out on a superstar. Before you say we had Niels, we wouldn't have to pay overseas travel expenses due to him living in the UK.
  21. May be at King's Lynn. We currently only have Batchelor as our heatleader
  22. Believe it's to be in the evening. They put a press release out saying rider's will be announced on our new race day of Thursday instead of the fans meeting. 7.45 is our tapes-up time
