What does Tai Woffinden mean?
Daniel Smith replied to Hamish McRaker's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Getting in the excuse for his low scoring early -
Although I don't have BSN, I will not be watching or attending. I might click on the Speedway Updates site at around 11pm just to be sure the meeting has completed to check the scores. Stars 33 - 57 Ipswich

There's merits to all arguments. I'd have had Lawson & / or Wright in the side over Brennan. They're just both better & I don't think Brennan is the future at all. He certainly doesn't have the ability & aura of a young Woffinden, Bewley & Lambert. He's not going to be that level. Anyway, it's also correct to exclude them if they're skipping team events associated with Great Britain. The last thing needed is rider's being able to pick & choose their international meeting. It's unfair on those that are putting themselves out there for the National flag.

He'd only ride for Wolverhampton apparently

World Cup - Wroclaw July 2023
Daniel Smith replied to Monarchs2468's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Love Lynn, dislike how it's being run, 2 different things. Lambert was having a great night then decided to curb crawl, maybe he felt the pressure but he most certainly shouldn't have been beat by Janowski how he was. The biggest let down was Woffinden. I expected us to finish 3rd, but going in to those last 4 heats, being able to use Bewley twice, we should not have been beaten, absolutely not. I'm allowed to be angry for losing that. Those last 4 heats, we should have won it. -

Actually we can. Ellis & Brennan didn't end up being the problem. Our experienced GP rider's let us down. Cannot be applauded whatsoever -

Woffinden & Lambert let us down in the end. Lambert & his curb crawling is really starting to grate. So angry, should never have thrown that away, absolutely never -

1. Australia 2. Poland 3. Great Britain 4. Denmark -
MPT is the only one, but it's certainly hasn't been a cause for an extremely poor season. Nobody wishes injury on anyone but the whole season people have wanted rid of Jorgensen.
-
Explain?? Let's be real here, Pickering, Jorgensen & Palm-Toft have suffered injuries but at the same time, they've all been pretty s#!te prior. King's Lynn are where they deserve to be. The injuries haven't really taken anything away from the season

Survival of The Premiership?
Daniel Smith replied to Najjer's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Here's a thought. Would 2 leagues with the same teams work. Championship is every club on any race day but has a race format for 5 man teams. Premiership is 7 man teams in the regular format, including the Championship clubs original 5 riders + 2 "World Class" rider's just running home & away once a season on Thursday's. An idea, could it work?!? -
Survival of The Premiership?
Daniel Smith replied to Najjer's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
You would think it's the answer but it's clearly not working currently. Official British Speedway viewing numbers for single race heats is appalling at around 1.5k. One of the biggest indicators that Speedway doesn't attract the masses is the SGP Channel. Only averaging 3k views, that's world championship speedway. Someone uploaded the recent Belle Vue vs Ipswich meeting, 14k views. The global audience are not interested in Speedway as a whole. For context, the Women's World Cup highlights are are regularly 50k+. Live British Speedway on Youtube will be catastrophic -

Difference being that the rider's can travel freely around Europe. The best thing rider's can do is come across on the migrant boats -
Kings Lynn Stars Vs Peterborough Panthers

Hearing this meeting could be abandoned, Buster had warned all rider's that they must make sure every heat is a 4-2. Far to many bonus points being paid ao far It's a joke before people get their knickers in a twist -
The best team manager for me isn't someone who wins everything. It's about getting performance above & beyond the rider's capabilities. Obviously we're all slightly biased but Rob Lyon is exactly that guy. Very good tactically too. Unfortunately, because of the 'Rising Star' system tactics are less available. Should still be the Great Britain manager imo. By far the worst Team Manager is Mark Lemon. Still absolutely clueless at decision making for both Belle Vue & Australia

It'll never get the backing from fans though. It would always have to be Leicester -

Wolves & Peterborough likely gone, concerns over Edinburgh & Poole's longevity, I just don't see how a 'top league' can be sustainable. -

I know full well how society is going & it's bloody scary when some think it's acceptable to drink & drug drive / ride
-
F'kin ell. You can be smacked off ya t!ts but if you're acting normal it should be ok A perfect example of where society has gone wrong. Drink & drug driving / riding in any world / sport is NOT ok

Survival of The Premiership?
Daniel Smith replied to Najjer's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It's purely my opinion, an idea & with regards to the Ekstraliga rider's wages, not the British League. It's an idea. To many ideas are the same year in year out. Quite a few ideas revolving around the kids, the next generation. Problem with that thinking is the product has to worthwhile for the accompanying adult too to be sustainable. We need to find a way to resource more rider's, with injuries currently, the league starts to quickly become farcical. The Ekstraliga being interested is very slim, almost zero, but €1000s coming back their way for something they don't actually own or use mid-week could be tempting & help build up our product for future years. British Speedway is just doing the same old same old year in year out. No improvement even attempted to save this sport. Just a consistent 'dumbing down' every season. -
Survival of The Premiership?
Daniel Smith replied to Najjer's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
As fans the last thing needed is "my clubs better than yours". From top to bottom, league by league, the whole sport is on the brink of collapse. As many as 5 clubs could be gone come the winter. If these clubs do fold we could see a complete collapse of the sport. There's never going to be full agreement between promoters & sponsors on structure. We're in a position that there has to be 1 league. Some will want the big guns, some won't. Fixed race nights, some just can't etc. Should we link up with Poland? Hear me out. Each of our clubs are feeder clubs to the Ekstraliga. Over there they pay salaries so instead of us negotiating individual contract, our clubs pay a monthly rate to use their squad. Effectively their squads of 14 / 18 riders also become ours. We have to include 2 homegrown rider's in our 7 at all times. British teams can only include 1 of the the Ekstraliga rider's that featured in the Ekstraliga weekend fixture, other 4 from the squad. Example: Wroclaw squad; Laguta, Bewley, Woffinden, Janowski, Pawlicki, Kowalski, Chugunov, Fienhage, Panicz, Andrzejewski, Curzytek, Wiatroski, Rybak, Lopuski. King's Lynn; Worrall & Nicholls full time This shouldn't be mandatory for British clubs to assign a Polish club. If a club wants to run their own 7 they can. We just need to find a solution to becoming more efficient, eradicate guests, doubling up etc. Just an idea. -
