  1. Sums are a little less simplistic when saying how many extra fans are required to pay for him. You need an average sum for the equivalent rider that would be in the team on a similar average. I can't see many rider's on a per point rate on a similar average accept less than £200. On a rough 7.00 average the ordinary Joe would earn £1,800+ inc bonus points per meeting. Nicki P wouldn't take bonus point money on fixed rate so would be £500pp. 9/10 sponsorship will cover the difference rather than people through the gate.
  2. Many, if not all top rider's demand per meeting these days. £3.5k is a bargain for Nicki P
  3. Peterborough will have a team of 20 rider's by March with all these definite signings, so added another rumour. Must be linked to Peterborough somewhere
  4. Keep quiet, go under the radar, BANG........ League winners. Don't need to keep the club in people's minds to much in the off season, mid February is when the chat from the club should start
  5. Geez, what I've heard today will blow your minds. Wout Weghorst is 10x the player than Erling Haaland
  6. Maybe he's just invited himself for the p!$$ up
  7. I have a feeling Ipswich will release Riss & use both Holder & Tungate.
  8. Well, King's Lynn's hopes of top 4 increase with every week that passes & Ipswich & Peterborough keep p!$$ing about. There's a lot to be said for get your team's done quickly, to much risk waiting on indecisive rider's & federations. If a rider says "don't know, not sure, may be", time to move on & find someone else.
  9. Ipswich not releasing Tungate & Holder now potentially saying no, I'd say that's falling apart From Holder & Tungate to Worrall & Andersen is a disaster
  10. Would any of you Ipswich fans change Erik Riss to add in Holder & Tungate?? Thing's seem to be falling apart over at Peterborough
  11. Thing is, even if Peterborough get Holder & Ipswich refuse Tungate to Peterborough, I can see Tungate saying "no thanks" to Ipswich. Which would mean they'd lose both Tungate & Worrall as Worrall will be at Peterborough. This could get really really really messy
  12. Scrap that. Found this that says Tungate is still an asset. So yes, Ipswich can withhold his signing for any other club https://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/20662920.ipswich-witches-ring-changes-two-riders-two-riders/
  13. I was thinking the same. I though Tungate had a bust-up with Louis & was sold. To who I can't remember. May have the totally wrong rider in mind though but I'm convinced it's Tungate
  14. If Buster is still owner you'll need to hope Tungate keeps his mouth shut too
  15. That last paragraph is a little different to "I'm a winner" isn't it “In the meantime we’re committed to putting on a great season, and hopefully the full team will be well received when it is confirmed.” Suggests that the fans may not be so pleased compared to previous rumours
  16. What's sensible for 'World Class' though? I don't think £5-£6k is unreasonable per meeting for a world class rider. If you want them, you pay for them. The issue is, 100%, the uptick in fans wouldn't even cover the rider's costs. These guys get paid the same home & away so you'd need roughly £10,000 worth of extra fans every home match. Almost impossible when Ipswich already have Doyle at No1. Only TruPlant can afford to cover these costs, Ipswich itself certainly can't.
  17. Just stick to watching the racing. You would fall off you chair once you realise the £'s floating around this sport. Yes, clubs struggle but it doesn't mean the numbers exchanging hands are miniscule. Speedway is f'ckin expensive & clubs need 6 figure incomings
  18. Nope, each club per season. King's Lynn were getting £70,000pa from Roger Warnes Transport years ago & was said to be the lowest in the top league
  19. Great track that deserved top league status but unfortunately took the jump to early. Don't think it was just being in the top league that was the downfall, something wasn't quite right with the Hancocks, they always talked a good game but always gave the impression they'd sell the land eventually for huge profits
  20. Don't forget team sponsorship can net anywhere between £70,000 - £100,000 a season. It's quite possible Guy Nicholls would go beyond that.
