  1. I expect Madsen was only in the corner of his eye as he was focussing on the tapes but even the slightest little movement would be enough, Nicholls described him as a coiled spring ready to go telly and thats good analogy. I'm sure technique is a large part of it but so is composure and coolness under pressure, both of those things are gained with experience and I'm sure even the great Mauger got better at it with age.
  2. Much more difficult than you are making out I'd imagine. I think he knew he had to make a good one against those three riders and his relative inexperience showed, although Madsen twitching on gate one really didn't help . He will have learned massively from it I'm sure.
  3. That's up there with Bacon and Bates in our league at going against what the Rising Star scheme should be about. Dear me.
  4. A pity Erik couldn't hold on to third but it is what it is, I expect there was a good reason he was chosen and not Tomas. That's now three good performances with the new TM involved, he has certainly made a difference and is getting more out of the group. As for Shovvy's comments the leagues are now closer than ever and I think Lynn would probably be narrowly beaten away at several Championship sides but certainly not over two legs, the reserves and second strings would be the difference. The idea of one league with North and South sections isnt a bad one but that's an awful lot of extra riders to find and a lot of doubling up lost for riders who may need both leagues to carry on.
  5. The only reason I can think of is that it would have been for Connor in heat 6 and that would have meant getting him into two heats later in the meeting. I'm definitely in the 'use it as soon as you get the chance' camp but sometimes its tricky.
  6. Time for the skipper to pull his finger out.
  7. Unless they are going to be one of three or four clubs who move up I wouldn't even contemplate moving to a six team league with virtually the same riders in it anyway.
  8. I think you've missed the word 'some' out Henry, every track has them unfortunately. I expect feelings were running high during heat 14 but it's never acceptable to cheer a fallen rider IMO.
  9. Don't agree with the tac sub at home but GET IN The signs were there at Sheffield last week that the change of leadership might have galvanised things and that carried on tonight. Everyone had a win or paid win again although I'd suggest Wells might be on borrowed time. And what a signing Lawson has been.
  10. Yep 6's, 7's and 8's by the look of it in fairness.
  11. I'm sure I'm repeating myself but home teams shouldn't be allowed the TR, if you are half a dozen behind on your own track tough luck.
  12. I'd suggest that 5 for Wright is not typical, he has always ridden well at Lynn IIRC.
  13. His season has been wrecked by that alarming spill at Wolves, if that hadn't occurred he'd be happily scoring points and enjoying himself I'm sure. As it is nobody would blame him if he packed it in right now.
  14. The CL and PL are of a very similar standard nowadays and I expect the is in the bracket of riders who can't/wont make it pay just riding in one league as he doesn't race abroad.
  15. Indeed, if folk cant front up after a defeat they don't deserve to post stuff like that.
  16. We had all this the other week with Crump.....if he's fit for Brum tomorrow night then he must ride for Lynn on Thursday.
