I’m sure by the end of the season he’ll be mixing it with those three too but there are several other riders he’ll be facing in the Championship who averaged more than he did in 2019 in the Premiership. I think your expectations of him are a little high, he’ll need time to settle in and learn the circuits and he is still young so I expect him to improve fairly quickly but as I’ve said anything over seven will be a good year for him.
-
He will have to finish in the top ten of the averages to maintain his starting figure....not knowing the vast majority of the tracks makes that a very tall order. If he finishes with a figure somewhere between seven and eight he will have had a good year.
-
Don’t think he’ll maintain his average but a great signing who should do an excellent job, and I think a year in the Championship will do wonders for his development.

I quite liked the Knights name and race jacket of 1997-98 until it turned into that daft emblem that Brian Griffin came up with. The Silver Machine thing was ok but maybe the Stars is what we should always be going forward.

STARS LAND NEW TEAM SPONSOR KING’S Lynn are thrilled to welcome Minors and Brady Estate Agents as their new main team sponsor. The Norfolk outfit will now be known as the Minors and Brady Stars with preparations well underway for the latest Premiership campaign. Minors and Brady are award-winning estate agents which was founded by Jamie Minors and Alex Brady - who have both worked their way up from being trainee negotiators to running their own company with three offices across Norfolk. And for co-owner Alex Brady it really is a 'dream come true' to become team sponsor of the club he has supported since he was a child. He said: “I am a huge fan of speedway and I have been coming to Lynn since I was five-years-old. I went out to eight of the ten Speedway Grand Prix’s last year and we also sponsored Ty Proctor in 2019 - I would class him as a good friend. “I have known Buster (Chapman) for number of years – I did a Power Slide class when I was 15 and then I dealt with him through work last year, and that is really how this all came about. “It really is a privilege to be asked to be team sponsor because I have spent so many years watching Lynn and you see companies like Poultec sponsoring them, but you always dream that one day it could be you. I love the sport and I want to help it grow again, gaining exposure so like I say, it really is a privilege.” King’s Lynn owner Keith Chapman is delighted with the new partnership. “I am very pleased to have Minors and Brady as our new team sponsor this year and I would like to welcome them to the club,” he said “I know that Alex has been coming to watch the Stars for many years and he really has the club’s best interests at heart. Hopefully we can help them going forward as much as they’re help us as a club. “We like to have support from local businesses and the fact that they’re a Norfolk-based company is really good for the area and it is good for everyone involved. “I think it is brilliant how they have grown as a company in the last couple of years and not only that, they have also gone from being a sponsor for one of our riders to now being our team sponsor which is great for everyone. “Minors and Brady is a company that is growing and with the partnership that we now have, we can hopefully grow with them and take King’s Lynn on to bigger and better things.” The Stars will launch the new season with their press and practice on Monday, March 16, at the Adrian Flux Arena. All media are welcome to attend with team photos and rider interviews taking place between 12pm - 3pm. Gates will then open for supporters at 6pm with riders out on track between 6.30pm and 8pm, followed by a Q&A session between 8.30pm - 9pm in Champs Bar.

Wow, tough crowd -
We shall see. They obviously all need to avoid crashes and knocks to have better years.
-
Admission prices frozen for 2020 according to the club’s social media - good news.
-
I think there are valid reasons they will improve ie a better home track for Bomber, Hans being injury and personal problem free, Scott being at reserve. They could all put a point on if things go their way.
-
Not sure that will make s huge amount of difference really. I think they will do well because they have riders like Harris, Andersen and Nicholls riding in positions below where they have done in recent years. And Ostergaard will be better than many other reserves especially at home.

This. If this team doesn’t finish top four I’ll be very surprised. Looks like it will be very strong at home. -
I’d save your energy mate.

I misread that at first

In addition I wouldn’t be too keen on a reserve pairing of Hartel and Lambert. -

It’s not just about gating though, Lynn has been a track with a unique surface and a huge amount of grip and it took him a while to get used to riding it every week as it does many riders, I believe he averaged over eight both home and away which isn’t too bad at all. Seems the track will be slicker this coming season which can only benefit the likes of him and Hartel and hopefully the standard of racing which badly needs to improve. -

I really didn't mean for this to turn into a Cook v Iversen debate, my original point merely was that we’ve probably seen the best of Puk over the last decade and that Cook did well for us last year so probably deserves another go. There are other variables too, Niels is going to be extremely busy this year and perhaps Lynn would prefer a rider with fewer commitments abroad. I would imagine if Lynn wanted Puk then he would be there but it would be difficult to fit him, Cook and Robert into the same side so perhaps they decided the top two from last year were a better bet. You certainly can’t compare Iversen and Cook’s achievements on the world stage or in foreign leagues but perhaps in the Premiership which I’d have thought must be Puk’s lowest priority Cook might be the right choice for King’s Lynn for 2020. -
You’ll have to come and join the first bend ruffians one week

He has been number three in the world and I don’t see him doing that again so yes I’d say his best days are behind him, his previously high British League standards dropped for Lynn in 2018 and Ipswich last year and he isn’t getting any younger. I expect him to do a good job for P’boro but it’s unlikely he’ll be the rider he was for Lynn 2012-16. -

Time will tell. I think Cook did enough last year to deserve another season and Puk’s best days are behind him so maybe Lynn they have made the right choice, maybe not. I expect averages and league positions at the end of the campaign will tell us all. -

Maybe Lynn didn’t choose him.
