If you mean 2017 he was much better than he has been in his short stint this season. Coming in at reserve he should have been an upgrade on Andersen and Lambert but unfortunately he has been dreadful. -
I’ve never got the appeal of oval car racing personally but you can see from the number of spectators in that video exactly why speedway has to play second fiddle to the stocks and bangers.

Some classic Shovlar on this thread and still people bite all these years later. Poole have a great chance of winning tomorrow and a more than fighting chance of winning the title. Everything else is arse covering and bait casting. -

It’s unlikely to be a good meeting because the shale is crap for speedway, nothing to do with doctoring the track. It will however almost certainly be smooth without lumps, bumps and holes. -
Peterborough v Wolves 17.9.19

They’re not the same thing though.....one is carelessness, the other.....well I guess that could be carelessness too As a relatively new Father good luck to Sam and his other half. -
Ipswich had nothing to lose or gain so they were always going to go ‘through the motions’ on a track which had a few lumps and bumps. They may even have experimented with set ups etc. Can’t imagine any of the 28 riders not giving 100% come the Play Offs.

Ipswich’s shape is a hell of a lot better than it used to be.

To be fair to her she said yesterday that neither Boris or Steptoe are capable of running the country.

Big decisions in November.

Not enough variety. Poland and Sweden don’t ride everyone twice home and away. -

Eight teams still not enough really. Hopefully Eurosport will insist on team kevlars and bike covers across the board. -
I presume you are referring to Duckworth Lewis Stern? If so it’s got absolutely nothing to do with test matches.

Proper sport.

Jobs for the boys. Or a desire to shaft Poole
-
Jorgensen a big miss at home. Think the Robins will sneak this.
-
I’d never write Poole off in Play Offs however out of form or weak they may look, they nearly always raise their game when it matters.
-
Racing good but have seen better from there when there is more dirt on it, a shame they didn’t prepare it with a bit more. The Poles are just too good for everyone else, so sharp from the gate and such fast bikes. Robert would have his work cut out to finish above them all if fully fit but the two massive pearlers he has had (particularly the Toruń one) have knocked the stuffing out of him, just doesn’t look right at all on the bike. Gutted for him that injury has robbed him of a proper tilt at winning it in his final year of eligibility.

Poole vs Kings Lynn 12/09/19
Bagpuss replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I reckon Lynn is the smoothest of the smooth simply because of the blade and other equipment Buster has at the stadium. Won’t be a decent track again though until he replaces the shale. -
A sad reflection of where speedway in the UK finds itself unfortunately.
-
I thought it was quite constructive, and on an appropriate thread. The Polish Extraliga is absolutely brutal, nowhere to hide at all.
-
Palm Toft withdrew after a couple of rides at Eastbourne last Saturday then missed meetings at Scunthorpe, Lynn (rained off) and Poole. The difference is that he has been one of our better riders this year, nothing to be gained by anybody for him missing Thursday.

Is it what has driven the majority of people away though? If it was purely down to racing then Belle Vue, Scunny etc would be packed to the rafters. I’d suggest there are several factors ie admission cost, rule bending, poor atmosphere, poor facilities, poor marketing etc. -
If it’s possible for a rider to be ‘stood down’ or for him to ‘withdraw his services’ for the Play Offs then the transfer deadline might as well be done away with as a club could use the same guest for its four play off meetings thus effectively signing that rider for the remainder of the season.
-
I think most of the stick relates to the suggestion that he has been stood down / is withholding his services. If true no doubt Poole have realised they’ve dropped a bollock signing him and now want to engineer better guests for the Play Offs
