  1. I think it was a reasonably good idea in principle but they dragged it out far too long. You can certainly see and understand the benefit of keeping the club in the news right through until March but there are other ways to do this. Also it was understandable how they built the team last year but unfortunately three or four riders (you could even argue five) performed way, way below expectations and the level they achieved in 2018.
  2. Why would a business of that size which has lost half a million carry on?
  3. Is Fricke doing Sweden? Doyle apart I don’t think any GP riders want to do three full time leagues any more.
  4. I don’t understand why anybody would buy a season ticket at any track nowadays with the way speedway is run.
  5. Bech is ok but I don’t think I’d want him instead of Riss. He would be decent alongside him as an engine room, has always ridden Lynn will.
  6. I think Buster has a pretty accurate idea of who is going to turn up on any given race night considering the variables such as weather, opposition, holiday/half term periods etc. He’s been doing this for a long time now. My main worry is that three or four underachievers are in the frame because they are popular on the terraces, if they ride Lynn well then a big proportion of the home punters aren’t really fussed what happens on the road. The next few weeks will tell us how ruthless the club is willing to be. As you say only three, maybe at a push four of last years team should be coming back. But they could conceivably replace Porsing with Proctor and keep the same team and that really would be poor decision making.
  7. So are you saying that Rowe would / will average more than Kurtz? Not sure I agree with that.
  8. Sidney, it’s still November.....yes they got it wrong last year but the first signing is being revealed tomorrow and you’d like to think the rest will follow over the next couple of weeks. There also seems to be this idea that because we haven’t named a rider yet that none have been signed and other teams are getting in first when I’m pretty sure the team was sorted and signed weeks ago. People are of course entitled to be critical of who does or doesn’t end up in the team but FFS wait until it’s named before whinging and moaning. Other than Nicol I can’t see any others riders revealed so far by other teams who I would want or expect to be at Lynn anyway.
  9. The dark Lord Ford also wanted Brady Kurtz to be a FTR that first year
  10. Nope, because your opinions aren’t balanced (always negative) and your criticism is never constructive, just saying ‘rubbish’ is poor debating.
  11. I can remember him gradually improving at Lynn over a few matches culminating in paid 14 from five rides against Leicester before getting injured (!) in the next meeting. Don’t get me wrong, whether he excelled or flopped he would only be a short term, one season option to try and take advantage of a low average based on a few short spells over here. And he would be partnered with a young, fresh option a reserve rather than getting a team spot instead of one IMO. I just think that starting a season rather than joining towards of the end of one and riding in the second division too might mean that he is able to perform to a reasonably decent level at reserve and increase his starting average. It’s a risk due to his previous record of flattering to deceive and regular injuries but on just over a four I think the risk is worth it.
  12. Even better but I believe Charles has already signed for Belle Vue. Four new, fresh faces certainly appeals to me.
  13. 1 Lambert 7.65 2 MPT 6.30 / Museliak 6.21 3 Riss 6.61 4 Lawson 5.78 / Andersen 5.79 5 Cook 7.62 6 THJ 4.18 7 Pickering 4.18 Happy to be corrected on any averages which might not be spot on.
  14. You’re a rubbish supporter so you fit in well.
  15. Quite a few Lynn fans hold a grudge against Holder too for being garbage in 2017 I would imagine most people in speedway whether they ride, promote or manage can make up their own minds about messrs. Holder, Batchelor and Chapman. Everyone is in it to earn a crust at the end of the day so probably best that they put the past behind them and move forward in s professional manner.
  16. Maybe but not sure we could fit him in and have a decent reserve unless we didn’t sign one of last years heat leaders and I can’t see that happening, although you never know. The whole Buster falling out with people thing is a bit of a myth IMO, yes there are one or two who have taken the mickey when employed by him but generally I think he is a good promoter to ride for, pretty sure his riders have always been paid fully and on time since he took over in 1992 and that goes a long, long way for speedway riders.
  17. I can imagine there will be more than one club who could fit him in if they choose.
  18. Really surprised Nicol didn’t stay at Sheffield to be honest, can imagine that Wolves’ track and teaming up with Luke Becker appealed to him. It’s a great pity he was cleaned up by Josh Bates last year before he was able to ride for us, if he’d ridden some meetings for us and built up a relationship with the promotion we might have been able to get him in for 2020.
  19. Well done for passing the ‘are you paying attention’ test! Of course I meant 6th of seven
  20. If continuity means finishing 7th of eight teams again then nope! EDIT 6th of 7 teams of course!!!
  21. With no GP’s or U21 competitions I’d be gobsmacked if Lambert didn’t ride in the UK in 2020.
  22. Based on very little other than the fact that he has reportedly signed for a Premiership team and he had a spell with us in 2017, and this is probably a 2+2=5 suggestion but I wonder if Tomas H Jonasson might be lining up at reserve on 4.18? Other than his tendency to pick up injuries I don’t think he would be a bad signing in that average.
  23. I think you are probably overthinking it a little! I did say the main problem was poor scoring reserves last year among many other issues, and I think having a good reserve who can produce the goods in heats 2, 8, 12 & 14 is really important. MPT showed that in 2018. Again I agree with one part of your post in that we can’t have five or six of last years team back and expect success, it can be no more than four IMO. I’m not keen on hanging riders out to dry but we can all see from the averages who didn’t cut the mustard away from home last season.
