If we could get Cook and Starke in for Proctor and Andersen we’d have no reason to fear anyone and ought to be title challengers.

Edinburgh v Glasgow Friday 24th May
Bagpuss replied to SharpenRake's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Depends what you mean by ‘terribly flash’ but I don’t see much wrong with having a professional image and looking as good as you can when on duty. Years ago at school my PE teacher used to say ‘look smart, play smart’ when we represented the school at football, cricket or whatever and I think that’s true. He didn’t do as well as I thought last season but seems to be fulfilling his potential this year and it’s great to see. -
The bottom line is that List only beat one opponent for Scunthorpe and they were off 15m.....sometimes needs must for the good of the team and Ayres has done very well. Good that List will be getting his place back but he was dropped because he wasn’t up to the required standard. Hope for his sake he is able to take his chance this time.

All a bit childish, no?

Or he could be grown up about it and score some points to earn some money, get some confidence and perhaps put himself in the shop window.

No. Just a strong rumour which could be true or a load of squit.

Peterborough vs Poole 23/05/19 Premiership
Bagpuss replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Maybe. But we were told that there were how ever many tonnes of new material going on the track in March, and then by Hans how amazing it was to ride at P&P. Then after a few meetings of inside line speedway we were told that as the weeks passed they would develop the racing lines and hey presto a few meetings in we have people coming in here saying last night was the best meeting they’d seen there for years. Sometimes two steps forward require one back first and perhaps those in charge knew what they were going after all. The next few matches will provide the proof of the pudding one suspects. -
Which rules?

Peterborough vs Poole 23/05/19 Premiership

Glad to hear the track has developed how they wanted it to. -
Maybe the regulation has been dropped now that there are FRN’s in the Premiership meaning no clashes with Championship fixtures.
-
Morley has been the weak link really, he’s been knocking around for several years now and should be doing better especially on a small home track.
-
Not sure why they wouldn’t be in the case of a new signing.

Peterborough vs Poole 23/05/19 Premiership

Shouldn’t come as any surprise. -
It’s the inconsistency which does your head in. We’ve lost twice at home to Poole yet beaten them away. Got a draw at P’boro when other more fancied sides have lost. Taken four points from the league leaders after a first night hiding. Performed well at Wolves before falling away at the end and doing the opposite at Belle Vue. There’s a half decent side in there trying to get out but with each defeat it feels we are less and less likely to see it. Would be daft to drop Kerr now he’s dropped to reserve but Proctor and Andersen could have no complaints if they were culled. There must be a couple of second division riders who fit and would do a better job, riders like Pickering, Jensen, Stewart, Douglas, Mountain ie even unfancied names like Wethers, Mountain or Ayres could do no worse in the right position.

Would have been ok if he carried on from last year but has been nowhere near it, neither has he (or Andersen) for Sheffield. This team ain’t strong enough to carry anybody. -

Completely unacceptable to collapse like that away let alone at home. The only saving grace is that it wasn’t a league match. Massive blow if Riss is injured. Proctor and Andersen must be on borrowed time. -

Is there anything riding on this or is it a dead rubber? -
Robert will come good, there is very little doubt about that. Last nights performance and the riders he beat shows that. It’s just a matter of time. However at the moment he is misfiring and below him we have three second strings and three reserves. We need at least one rider from those two groups to step things up along with Robert getting back to his best if we are to have a chance of top four.

I think I counted four posts on both Facebook and Twitter throughout the day from the club as well as several updates during the meeting so not to sure where you are coming from. As for the team, it’s not been a great start to the league campaign but we've not had a home match yet. Three points from four away matches is not disastrous but needs improving on. So far nobody has stepped up to second heat leader and the number one has been inconsistent. An all round improvement is needed to be in with a chance of the Play Offs but still early days. Presumably Lewis drops to reserve soon so I’d have Proctor at two, the Danes at three and four with Riss at five. See if that improves the balance a bit.

Wolves v kings Lynn Premiership 13/5
Bagpuss replied to stevebrum's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
No excuses here, just support for a rider who is giving his all but not getting the rewards. Rather than accusations of a lack of application or effort. It’s what proper supporters do. Better tonight for him, although no surprise on a track where you can remedy poor hating. -
Consistently inconsistent.
