Not to be unfortunately, the injuries have come at the wrong time and ruined our chances in a final we probably would have otherwise won. Frustrating but that’s speedway. I can take comfort from the fact we finished top of the pile even though it’s ultimately resulted no trophy. Hopefully we can win the cup next week as a bit of consolation. Congratulations to the riders and supporters of Poole Pirates for taking advantage and winning the title.

Depends on race nights and how much common sense is applied when compiling the fixture list (usually little). He will be on an attractive average.

I don’t understand this ‘helping Lynn’ thing. Leaving out whether people agree with it or not for a moment we chose a guest in accordance with the rules and then a solution was found with everyone in agreement which meant you guys get somebody whose average is too high so you are hardly being disadvantaged. If people have a problem with the situation then all three parties need to be blamed.

Probably not that early but soon after I don’t hate your club but I hate Ford. The stuff he had been allowed to get away with over the years has done irreparable damage to British speedway and even if he does Foxtrot Oscar in the winter (please God) it’s probably too late for the sport.

Why would we not blame Jakobsen? I’m sure he didn’t mean it and he wasn’t riding dirty but he has knocked one of our key riders off and injured him. An accident but his fault, compounded by the referee getting it horrendously wrong. I think the reason Poole fans are generally despised is that very few of them have enough about them to say ‘yep we got away with one there’ and win with a bit of grace. Instead let’s sling a bit of mud the other way and see if it sticks as a distraction. Very sad.

We’ll have to agree to disagree. I’m sure you lot remember what it felt like in 2010 when you finished top and lost the final, we’ll its pretty likely we are going to experience the same thing with the help of two injuries and a diabolical referee decision. I didn’t think we would win last night but get 40 and I thought we had a great chance. On another day and without Jakobsen cleaning MPT up we would have got them as we had the momentum and would have been taking that into tomorrow night. However it was not to be, that’s life. But I think we are entitled to feel sour about it.

Depends what you expected, he’s on 6.27. I expected 6-6.5 so I think he’s done ok.

I’d not have Proctor back as he has gone missing at the vital stage of the season but I’d certainly have Riss and Jorgensen in 2019.

Do you not think we are entitled to be for what went on in heat 12? Don’t get me wrong, plenty of our problems were self inflicted but that decision and MPT’s subsequent injury are an absolute hammer blow.

Now they need to claw back a 16-point deficit at the Adrian Flux Arena on Wednesday if they are to land their first-ever top flight league championship. It promises to be an epic night and defiant skipper Lambert believes they need to give Poole a dose of their own medicine. He said: “We can get 5-1s and hopefully hit them hard from the beginning and their heads will drop. “I don’t know what was up with the referee at Poole, I thought he was good before tonight. But that didn’t help us to say the least. “I guess 16 points is not the best deficit we wanted but considering how the meeting started, it’s good to come away with that. “We would have liked it to be a bit less but it could have been worse. I think they’ve gone for Ellis as he is generally decent at Lynn. I would say a better bet than Hans although he obviously has more experience. Kasper is too young to be the senior reserve on the night IMO and while Aarnio or NBJ are in form they haven’t done too many laps round Lynn before. Howarth is probably the safe bet even though he’s not in great form. The bottom line though is that we are likely to miss our injured riders a fair bit.

No might about it, we need one or two Pirates to have stinkers and some referee calls to go our way. A good start is imperative. If we can get a ten point lead over the first five or six heats we’ll have some momentum and a good chance. Really can’t see anything other than Poole keeping it tight though and sealing the deal in a professional, no fuss manner.

These kinds of posts are worthless without an alternative suggestion as to who should have been booked instead. And this is a Play Off final, with a league title at stake. I can’t imagine cost comes into it.

I’d like to be positive and think that Howarth could come in and match MPT’s performance levels around Lynn but it’s difficult to see considering his form this season. I can accept losing a two legged tie to a better team, even after finishing top, but for injuries and awful refereeing to play a major part makes it a very bitter pill to swallow. Hopefully the Stars will he fired up and surprise everyone but I can see this being a tight meeting and the margin on the night being two to four points either way.

I’m sure it will be prepared as it has been all season which our riders like. Making it different to catch Poole out could also catch our own riders out so just maintain the status quo and hope for a bit of luck which we are going to need.

If MPT rides and we have luck on our side this time then it’s doable but the odds are stacked against us. Need to make a good start and we need a lot more than eleven points from the three middle order men.

Unfortunately with Play Off speedway sometimes one team’s name is on the trophy and the others isn’t. We still have an outside chance but that becomes very remote if it turns out that Jakobsen has ended MPT’s season. Whatever the case Proctor needs to seriously pull his finger out on Wednesday.

Brilliant. That’s one ride. And what about heats thirteen and fifteen? Ellis will probably cover for Niels quite well but by the sound of it any other available guests or R/R would certainly have not.

Better for you as it would have rendered Lynn uncompetitive but no fairer as it would also have ignored the rule book.

If anyone has ‘backed down’ surely its Lynn for allowing Poole to be over the limit?
