  1. I'm not keen on people bigging the boy up too much but by the same token you seem to have made your mind up about him negatively based on very limited experience of watching him race. I believe he has as much natural ability as Woffinden and Ward at the same age BUT he has a long way to go to emulate them. I think it's best if people leave him be to develop at his own pace and have an open mind about what he can achieve given time.
  2. Great signing for all three parties.....Robert gets more racing to help his development, which should in turn help Lynn and P'boro get a fantastic young signing who should attract plenty of Lynn fans to help with attendances. Looking forward to seeing Robert strut his stuff round the best track in the UK.
  3. In theory anyone other than King & Tungate could end up at reserve ensuring two strong ones all season. Even though there will be less fanfare than before I think this team could quietly do rather well. Must make the Foxhole a fortress though, it's what successful teams are built on.
  4. I'd say that's significantly better than Lanham & Jacobs.
  5. Morley and Halsey are small track men and the latter has been around for an awful long time without getting any better. I'd have thought someone like Greaves, Kingston or Stokes would be a better bet, they are only ever going to improve.
  6. I wouldn't get caught calling them that by a Forest fan! Nott'm the only abbreviation permitted
  7. I think Sheffield will be the team to beat IF they complete with Proctor & Poole and Sissis is as good as most people expect.
  8. Are Cook and Masters both likely to return? Like the look of those reserves, both could stick a couple of points on their figures once dialed in to Armadale.
  9. And the coat! Like something out of Grease
  10. Hmmmm these revelations put a different complexion on things. Would be nice to hear they other side of the story, and ultimately a statement from the governing body to clear the matter up one way or the other. ()
  11. Great side on paper with stacks of improvement in it, however Sheffield's likely team looks slightly better to me.
  12. Let's hope common sense prevails then as he is exactly the type of rider who doubling up should be for.
  13. Fair enough. I think inconsistency and moments of immaturity are often par for the course for young riders, but if I was a regular at a PL track I'd want to see talents like Lambert, Sissis, Holder, Kurtz etc as they put bums on the edge of seats.
  14. While I appreciate that some people will go to speedway to watch the racing come what may, I think it's understandable that the enthusiasm of others gets eroded by the rules and their application, non application and bending. For some a level playing field is essential in the first instance and I can understand why those people might stop going in its absence.
  15. Is that a joke? Unfortunately Bridger is one of the biggest wastes of talent I've seen in thirty years of watching speedway. Will never fulfill his potential now.
  16. Excellent news, riders like Clegg, Greaves etc need to be in the PL.
  17. Surely the race format will help a rider like Cook rather than hinder him? He gets to face and beat riders like Lindgren, AJ, Ward, Holder, Puk etc. The EL had many, many problems but it's s must for any developing Brit trying to be the best he can surely? Would be nice to have a proper discussion about this issue without people getting defensive
  18. Good value as in whether he can improve on it. Not sure he can personally but fair play to him if he proves me wrong. Not bashing Cook at all but as a GB fan I'd like to see him fulfill his potential, for me he still has improvement in him but won't ever realise it while riding in the PL. Look at how Jason Doyle blossomed this year. Would have him at Lynn like a shot, and hopefully he can secure contracts in Poland & Sweden too.
  19. Making sure they always ran on weeks when Lynn didn't would make it a worthwhile speculation IMO, you would get plenty of Lynn fans heading over to watch.
  20. If Peterborough signed Lambert and Kerr it could boost their crowds enormously.
  21. Surely Cook isn't going to spend another season in the PL? Not sure Sedgmen is particularly good value on 6.99 but time will tell.
