  1. Pity this couldn't be arranged on a Friday when Sarjeant isn't riding for Coventry. Who compiles the fixtures?
  2. Thing is the best and the worst riders in the EL don't actually meet under the format. I think the EL struggles for entertainment purely because of the tracks it has, the PL generally has the better racetracks in the UK (Scunny, Somerset, P'boro, Sheffield, Plymouth) and these circuits will provide the better racing whichever league they are in. Also beauty is in the eye of the beholder, some people prefer NL action but others would say because the skill factor and speed is less it's not as exciting however much passing you get. I've always struggled to really enjoy NL racing despite going to a handful of meetings every year since it started in the 1990's, whereas others swear by it and some only go to NL meetings.
  3. Yep to be fair to Panthers this one is totally out of their control.
  4. Rye House the only side who I didn't name originally in my top six who I think could gatecrash. Seen nothing from my original bottom seven other than them to change my mind.
  5. It's the Champions League thingy this weekend I believe, thought that was Saturday though.
  6. Howarth apart, that's a side full of Lynn specialists. Should be close as it usually is when Swindon come visiting.
  7. He's not the only one on this thread either, but by far the whingiest. Quite embarrassing really and a good example of why it's sometimes a good idea to leave it a few hours before posting, let the emotions calm down a little. All very well banging on about being a four man team but the opposition have to prevent those riders scoring. Edinburgh look to have a long tail this year (initially at least) so Sedgemen is therefore the key man, perhaps no surprise to see Monarchs comfortably beaten with him having a nightmare. I think Glasgow still have a lot more to come looking at today's scorecard, if they can avoid injury they are my tip for the PL now that the unfortunate Simon Stead is injured.
  8. I think its fair to say that Edinburgh have some noisy neighbours this season. Will be interesting to read what Blobby has to whine about today.
  9. Must be your dog then who keeps mentioning Rob Lyon in your posts, I'd get him to post under his own account.
  10. I'd politely suggest that you remove that chip from your shoulder and learn some manners before posting.
  11. Big blow that Campos is missing due to work commitments.
  12. Ah, I read it as 'assuming' or 'if' all are available.
  13. Hence why the poster specified 'given all are available' I expect.
  14. True but he is more experienced than Kurtz so can probably adapt to different conditions more easily. I agree that a track being safe and good for racing are the most important factors but some home riders will inevitably struggle occasionally if the track is never prepared the same.
  15. Your'e assuming he would have been an Aussie had that path been clear for him then? Quite possible he wanted to be a Brit all along.
  16. It's not nonsense though if the track is indeed different every week......Covatti wouldn't know any different and rode it as he found it but Kurtz et al might well struggle if conditions are different every week and require differing set ups.
  17. Arlington is a completely different kettle of fish to West Row, I would expect Eastie to have a huge advantage at reserve and probably one or two of the Young Stars to five to struggle too. Cockle & Hazeldene must have ridden the track at some point but the rest must be first timers.
  18. You've already hit sixty against Lynn without turning up reading some of the comments on here! One or two people could do with calming down a little after a couple of wins.
  19. I think that point of view disrespects the competition quite badly. And surely Scunny are in the business of winning meetings? Even if qualification had gone you still want to win meetings to build confidence and momentum for the PL campaign surely? Redcar were only three points ahead at heats 9 & 12, where Lunna could (should) have taken one of Perks' rides.
  20. You are talking about one track and referring to one particular meeting. Far more telling are the averages of King, Stead & Auty in both leagues over the past few years. I agree with you with regards to the five you have named. King and Stead failed badly last year in the final so for me Lambert & Cook should get their chance this time.
  21. Auty will never be as good as Stead or King, still can't gate after nine years and would be a poor choice. Newman possibly worth persevering with even though he had been around for a fair while too. The squad Gavan named in the OP is more or less on the money though.
