  1. Hmmmm if you are going to arrange a challenge match on the busiest day of the season then don't moan when double uppers from the opposition are racing elsewhere in competitive fixtures.
  2. GRW123, how often do you visit other tracks? If you compare the standard of racing at Lynn over the last three seasons (2011 was very good) with the entertainment at P'boro, Scunny, Somerset, Plymouth, Wolves etc you will see that it's pretty poor at Lynn. Something isn't right.
  3. Hammers will be looking for revenge after last night. No Porsing or Kerr for Lynn, hopefully Steve Boxall has been tapped up already to fill in at reserve. R/R should be able to cover for Niklas. Weather forecast not good!
  4. Have said before that as well as having shale which is too grippy I think our straights are too long for today's machines, the better tracks over here tend to have more bend and less straight. No doubt the dirt used is the best for stocks so can't see it changing but would love to see Buster make the circuit shorter and wider.
  5. It's absolutely right that a competitive fixture has priority over a challenge match. It must have been known that these riders would be absent when the fixture was arranged. Have to agree though that's is an unfortunate reflection of the state of the sport at present.
  6. Your track gets flak when it has holes in it and is dangerous. You are right, Lynn is nowhere near what it was and not a patch on Peterborough but it is smooth and consistent more often than not. Tonight and last week when there was heavy rain around on both days probably aren't the best meetings to judge the track on, especially with such poor opposition tonight. I accept though that we haven't had a decent televised meeting from Lynn for a bloody long time. Forgot to say well done Robert Lambert, the boy has that in his locker when he strings a few starts together. Superb stuff.
  7. Can somebody please confirm whether the track was slick or grippy? And how much rain did the stadium have during the afternoon and evening? Nice start to the season. Genuinely thought Lakeside would be better than that, expect things to be different on Friday. Hope the two injured lads are ok, is Boxall available on Friday?
  8. If only life was that black and white! The reason sport is so interesting is that in pretty much any league any team can beat another on any given day. Burnley have achieved scoring draws at both Stamford Bridge and the Etihad this season but nobody has declared that either Chelsea or Man City won't finish in the top four because of it. If we lose to Lakeside tonight it would suggest to me that our form has much room for improvement before September. Would be daft to write anyone off in March!
  9. Most teams are riding on Friday so I expect the choices were limited. The script is written for the boy though!
  10. Have never really understood calling meetings off hours in advance based on a forecast. Rain either arrives much later than the 'professionals' predict or not at all far too often to take the risk.
  11. semion, the KLTFC supporters are notoriously fickle and will quickly stay way if things aren't going well. I gather they haven't won at the Walks for three months so it's little wonder crowds are currently below 500. The Linnets are certainly at a crossroads, money is going to have to be pumped in if they want to progress any further than the Evostick Premier.
  12. I'm sure if it was really that bad the riders would have united and refused to race. A wet track doesn't always have to be unsafe.
  13. Agree about the atmosphere, very difficult to generate a good one when it's freezing cold and the meetings aren't serious competition. In those situations is up to the promotion to move things along swiftly and make the presentation more stimulating. Some warmer weather and meaty league matches should get everyone's pecker up again.
  14. Track staff should be able to go 90 minutes without the need for a wee or a cuppa. If they can't then they can take a flask and nip to the loo between races if need be in consultation with the CotC.
  15. Not too fussed if we don't hit the ground running Em, we peaked far, far too early last year and it was pretty obvious we were going to suffer a loss of form / burnout / injuries come Play Off time. A slow start this time round may not be a bad thing.
  16. Not surprisingly for me, thought this would be tight. Almost certainly less so on Friday.
  17. Plenty of riders in the Hammers ranks who love riding at Lynn, not least the two Swedes so will be a tough task. Sometimes it's not as simple as 'we should beat this team as they don't look great on paper'. Would be nice if there was a discounted admission with Sky in town.....
  18. If he has any ambition he'll ride in the PL fixture.
  19. Didn't have Rye in my top six but may have to rethink given the start they have made.
