  1. Not too worried about the result (although I'd like to see the Starlets win) but looking forward to seeing how much the likes of Kerr, Stokes, Nielsen, Jacobs & Blackbird have improved since I last saw them ride. And of course to see some racing after almost a month!
  2. He shouldn't, because he'd be wasting his time. He had a vision for the future which would have taken 5-10 years to bear fruit but the authorities chose a short term and much cheaper way which is of course their perogative. Unfortunately though we'll continue to see Brits struggling on the GP and SWC stages.
  3. Excellent meeting, was a bit worried when all that dust kicked up during heat one but once the track settled down the action was superb. Great final too.
  4. They've said they are happy for Rob to do it and add another string to his bow as it were. I think he's due to miss three Lynn meetings and two of those were for the New Zealand GP last month. Rob is one of the best motivators in the sport and its a father in his cap that a GP rider wants him in his corner. *feather
  5. A shame as I'm sure it would have been an excellent meeting but on the bright side I think our lads stand a better chance of getting through on what is a more 'British' style track if you like.
  6. No surprise that the Young Stars were rusty and slow out of the gate today, I think they just about have a chance to pull it back in the second leg but it'll be a tough task. Looking forward to the second leg.
  7. Thats a fair point, but perhaps tomorrow night was the only date available which suited both parties? The situation must have been considered before the fixture was arranged as its in nobody's interests to call the meeting off like it has been if other dates were available. I dislike stocks as much as the next person but I'd suggest that without them there'd probably not be a Young Stars team in the first place.
  8. Its a pity but looking at the bigger picture stock cars at Lynn are arguably what has funded the speedway progressing from the safety of PL to the much more expensive situation of both EL and NL sides operating at the Norfolk Arena. The income from stocks is considerable, and with the rain we had over here yesterday I can only imagine what state the circuit is in today. Like I said a great shame for all concerned but one of those unfortunate things which doesn't really warrant one or two OTT posts on this thread.
  9. Service station? What's one of those anyway looking forward to popping down to the Foxhole to have a little look at the Twitches at some point this year, once I can get in at the doctors for my jabs I'll be there
  10. Sorry, no originality prize for you
  11. No accounting for what comes out of a Suffolker's gob Shadders
  12. Out of interest, are they available for the general public to view and if so where? Just been onto the SCB website and the rules & regs on there are for 2011.
  13. Could have sworn I saw 'gating tart' Bjerre sweep past Freddie Also funny how Noddy doesn't have the speed from the word go and its fine yet Bjerre has two engine failures and gets chastised for not being able to get past Bunyan on what looked like a moped anyway prejudices aside I thought it was a very good GP with some great racing after the initial round of heats. Would have liked to have seen a little more grip but was the best GP I've seen for a good while so hats off to everyone. And on a final note I hope Bjerre's bikes are just as reliable on Friday
  14. Did the Lynn Lightning match during the Stars' P+P last Wednesday go ahead? Can't find details anywhere.
  15. And Armadale, plus a decent season at Belle Vue in 2007.
  16. Kevin also has a bit of a history of tinkering with his bikes when its not necessary, from memory he had spells in both 2005 & 2006 where he went from looking really quick and scoring well to being very sluggish because of making changes which weren't necessary in an effort to get a little bit more out of his machines. Listening to Chris Louis will probably see him stick at least a point on his average in 2012. If he doesn't then Lewis is right and the injury he sustained in 2010 probably means he'll not be a PL top liner again.
  17. Yet another example of why independent governance of the sport is desperately needed.
  18. If there are problems with the averages of any riders then why on earth has it taken until March to come to light?
  19. I think anyone who knows HT would tell you that he doesn't go round spouting unsubstantiated gossip. I'm going to make an assumption now and say that the fact that Fisher didn't find a team spot in either league until late in the day, and only then once another rider had left for another club, suggests that he has been asking clubs for a fair bit of money. His perogative of course with a family to feed.
  20. *sigh* I'm not saying that neither party is to blame, just that we'll probably never know the truth and to blame either without the real facts is a bit silly. The fact that Ashworth decided to keep quiet over the matter while Bowden ranted like a spoiled brat doesn't prove or disprove anything. Hopefully all parties can move on once the season starts as Plymouth, Berwick, Ashworth and Fisher all seem better off with the arrangements.
  21. A diplomatic answer would be one where you blame neither Bowden or Ashworth.
  22. So I take it you are totally dismissing the suggestion that Mr Bowden changed Ashworth's terms after agreeing them? I don't see how anyone can categorically blame either party without actually knowing what went on between them.
  23. If any facility is for the lower figure then that makes parts of my argument completely redundant Assuming its not against the rules and that Fisher is up for it then 500cc's solution is a good one as fixture clashes aren't currently an issue, and Fisher would be an excellent stand in if Barker was unable to ride for whatever reason. Rain offs may create fixture clashes but at least R/R would be for a decent figure.
