The crowd level last night was dreadful not being helped by the stadium owners yet again deciding at the vey last minute to ban people bringing food and drink into the stadium (on one if the hottest days of the year). Led to queues at the entrance snd some very unhappy customers . They then closed the food outlet before the interval. !!!!! Note to the owners Your bar prices are horrendous. Your food is very poor quality snd, very expensive. I CALL ON ALL FANS TO BOYCOTT BOTH THE BAR AND THE FOOD OUTLET IN PROTEST. This is the fault of the stadium owners snd is being done without consultation with the Mason’s but, it is alienating fans . if this continues, this will be our last season there were plenty of new faces there last night BUT these gains were negated by the fact that so many of the regular fans, just were not there I stress, it is the stadium owners who are making life almost impossible for the Mason’s who are operating with their hands tied behind their backs because of this . I can see them giving up snd walking away , just like many of the fans are doing . That first night is costing us dear but, many of the problems on the night, were caused by the stadium owners coming up with unhelpful snd, ridiculous edicts at the last minute, without consulting the owners As I said, the crowd was dreadful last night which is a pity because apart from the dust, the track was excellent . The racing and team performance was superb Hope I’m wrong but I worry this is looking like it could be our last season time to get a track going at the wheels project before it’s too late and we fold yet again -

Coming from the midlands, you do not cross the bridge the track is literally adjacent to the main road. you gi down the A38 until you come to a roundabout where there is a premier inn. If you were to turn left it takes you to Plymouth town centre via the A374 You turn tight at the roundabout onto the B3416.Turn left near the McDonald’s onto coypool road following the signs for the park snd ride You can park there for free snd it’s s two minute walk to the stadium or, when 200 yards from the park snd ride, follow the road around to the right and under the bridge. Track 400 yards down this road. I’d park in the stadium. It’s only £2 snd you just walk into the seating area excellent viewing from either main stand, back straight or bends 3/4 Worth paying the extra to sit in the main stand. Enjoy your trip

Plymouth v Poole 13/7/21 CL

Well done Plymouth. -
Sorry yearbyred. It was very late in the night when I wrote that so was half asleep. !!! You are correct , my apologies. original post edited fact is, it was a cracking meeting on a brilliantly prepared race surface. A bit is spice along the way to keep us entertained snd, give us things to debate. a very fair snd balanced match report on the Bests official site. hope Jordan Jenkins is back ASAP.

Very honest comments from both yearbyred and, Bearlt. As a Brummies fan, I totally agree that Wright got away with knocking Schlein off in heat 13 snd, that it was the correct decision to also exclude Bomber in the heat 13 rerun. Yes, the 5-1 allowed us to bring in Harris as a tac sub in heat 14 so yes, it did somewhat level it out but the fact that the heat 13 crash kept Schlein out of heat 15, hurt our chances and in my opinion, cost us League points On top of that, I felt Jenkins was very lucky not to be excluded for bringing down Nielsen in their first clash !!! also hest 13 meant Schlein was injured snd unable to come out in heat 15 which was a double whammy snd the difference between getting one match point snd possibly sll three points. Have to say, it was a cracking meeting on a cracking race surface with a very friendly set of home fans. it would have been very unjust if we hadn’t got something out of the meeting. a thoroughly enjoyable night of Speedway Loads of praise for how well both Drew kemp rode as a guest for Redcar as his scoring (other than that controversial heat 13), turned out to be the difference snd, also great praise to Stefan Nielsen who rode well as a guest for us

Plymouth v Poole 22/6/21 K.O. Cup 7pm
the hobbit replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
We sat one yard, first bend side of the finish line and I was convinced Danyon has nicked it on the line. I was shocked the referee awarded third place to the Plymouth rider !!!! -
Was at Plymouth last night and from what Crump was saying when interviewed, he is still one to two weeks away from riding again. we have booked two tickets for this upcoming match, we are Brummies fans but want to support the Newcastle owner and club after all of your troubles . the tickets are for the covered grandstand area . could anyone tell me if that is a terraced standing area or , if it is a stand with seats as my wife can’t stand throughout a full meeting due to a bad back and, I was wondering if I needed to bring folding chairs into the stadium or, if our tickets were for an area with seating ? thanks for your help

Scunthorpe v Eastbourne 4th June
the hobbit replied to BEATTHEBOOKIEBOB's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
four of us Brummies fans were supposed to be going to Redcar but the M1 was shut due to an accident and it was mayhem. With our eta going from 17.45, to 20.30, and still being in queuing traffic, 85 miles from Redcar, we gave up and diverted to Scunthorpe. The meeting went through at a rapid rate of knots! It was a cracking meeting. Jordan Palin is an outstanding prospect why are people asking for Aarnio to be dropped? He had a good meeting. Give these lads chance, they’ve had the best part of 18 months off. Give them time to get going before you sack them!! seen a lot of gloomy predictions on here about your final league position but on the evidence of tonight, you won’t lose many at home so no way it’s going to be as bad as the doom merchants are predicting. sit back and enjoy seeing young Palin progress. He was worth the admission money on his own tonight !!! -
Redcar v Birmingham 4th June KOC
the hobbit replied to Yearbyred's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
There were four of us Brummies fans travelling up from the midlands to attend the meeting but due to traffic mayhem caused by a crash shutting the M1, out predicted arrival time of 17.45 turned into 20.30 and we were still in queueing traffic !!! we diverted to Scunthorpe, arriving in the stadium literally as the riders were going to tapes for heat one. It made it an expensive meeting as having booked online tickets for Redcar , we then had to pay to get into Scunthorpe!!! It was a cracking meeting and Jordan Palin is an outstanding prospect. Would rather have seen the Redcar - Brummies match so we’ll probably come up for league match now and hope for better luck with the traffic, -
Plymouth Vs Kent (Championship) - 1st June
the hobbit replied to ellioth4's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Thanks. Makes more sense now. -
Ok thank you.

Can anyone confirm if there is any food available at the track please or would it be best to get something on the way up from Birmingham. I know there used to be food offered on the stadium but is it still available under current measures and restrictions please ?
-
Think you will find they were referring to things like the air fence and track maintenance equipment rather than riders

Plymouth Vs Kent (Championship) - 1st June
the hobbit replied to ellioth4's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Why wasn’t Tom Bacon given heat 15? He was Kent’s top scorer at that stage, Threw away the win with that decision in my opinion . -
A good effort from Eurosport spoiled only by the constant inane drivel from Pearson snd Tatum, riddled with the same sad cliches snd inept mistakes such as calling Bewley an Aussie and, Tatum SCREAMING down the Mike about a brilliant overtake that never happened etc etc Sack them and bring in Dave Goddard

I have just spoke to them and they have confirmed they are showing the matches live, starting Sunday 4th April Not sure why they aren’t showing the matches scheduled for Saturday 3/4/21 or, if those two matches have been cancelled ive just spoken to them again and they are showing 72 live matches from 4/4/21 and, also showing the Swedish meetings from may onwards. if you had a subscription last year but cancelled it at the end of the season. When you subscribe, go onto the promo code section and enter : SPEEDWAY2021 ( type speedway in capital letters). this will get you a 12 month subscription for £80 instead of £120 only negative being that it’s a one-off, upfront payment for the entire £80 hope this helps everyone
