  1. The rule regarding race nights does not preclude CL teams racing on Monday or Thursday (nor PL teams racing the other nights. However it does give rider priority to the appropriate league.
  2. When the precedent was set to allow Richard Lawson to ride for Ipswich rather than Eastbourne, Eastbourne reported that “The usual protocols that guarantee that Premier have protected fixtures on a Monday and Thursday, and Championship have priority on all other days, have been rescinded and amended by the BSPA as an exception in the interests of the sport.” As you say, commonsense has Wright and Ostergaard in the North East if the cup final goes ahead next Sunday (it's currently a provisional fixture), but we will have to wait and see!
  3. I'm sure you know this really Steve, but Peter Adams is a Promoter at Wolverhampton.
  4. Shouldn't be any withdrawals as the NDLRC takes priority - Art 19.7.3 (Where a rider is additionally declared in a SGB Premiership or Championship League team, the SGB Premiership or Championship League Team shall have priority, except that a rider nominated for the NDLRC must appear in the NDLRC.).
  5. I agree Gordon, and I pointed out the sloppy wording at the time, to no avail. I'm sure in the scenario you mention, MC would be as scrupulously fair and unbiased as ever.....
  6. I don't see anything in the rules to prevent that. Apologies, completely misread the question. Losing semi-final riders remain ineligible to guest in the final.
  7. No restriction on that, an eligible guest rider could appear in both semi-finals - and the final - of both leagues, averages and fixture dates permitting!
  8. Spur of the moment fun from a former World Champion and a few riders in front of the TV cameras - never happened before or since I suppose. How do you know it wasn’t part of the ‘script’ - ah, that would be because you weren’t part of the management team.......
  9. That's not what Art 16.1 means (although the wording could be more precise). If a rider has two conflicting fixtures then there is an order of priority - the rule does not instruct a Club how they should organise their fixtures. Only in exceptional circumstances might the MC step in and dictate fixture planning.
  10. In the Premiership league matches only count towards rider averages (as they do in the NDL); in the Championship, Shield matches are also included. It should be noted that only matches up to and including the cut-off date count towards averages, so the two CL matches after the cut-off (Eastbourne v Birmingham & Edinburgh v Newcastle) will be excluded from the calculations. The effect of all this is that the 1st October averages should be the final averages for the season.
  11. I don't see any self-aggrandisement in the post I made, however I believe my promoting career has been more successful than yours.......
  12. I don't believe KK was released from Coventry twice, and when I released him in 2013 it was for just the last match of the season to give Linus Sundstrom an opportunity.
  13. Sorry, I thought it was self-evident that it wouldn’t carry over into the next season :-)
  14. There’s no time limit on a facility for an injured rider during a racing season - up to 31st October.
  15. That’s correct, there’s no time limit on a facility for an injured rider.
  16. 16.1.1 is in bold simply because it is a new regulation for 2019.
  17. KK was one of the most straightforward riders I had the pleasure of dealing with. He’s a thoroughly nice guy too.
  18. Charles Wright ( and Ulrich Ostergaard) should be quite straightforward - riding in the KO Cup Final is in accordance with the Regulations and the ‘more important’ meeting.....
  19. Art 16.1 of the Speedway Regulations states: Fixtures shall take priority as follows: FIM Speedway Grand Prix Speedway Of Nations Speedway Grand Prix Qualifying Meetings FIM U21 World Speedway Championship Meetings FIM Speedway European Championship FIM Europe U21 Championship British Championships (Senior, Junior) BSPA Shared and Fee Events Official Competitions: 1. SGB Premiership; 2. SGB Championship; 3. National Development League. (my emphasis) NB. Non-Official Competitions have no priority over any of the above. A Championship fixture should take priority over an NDL fixture at any time, regardless of when it was arranged. However it appears that this season an unwritten addition to Art 16.1 applies - 'the more important fixture shall take priority'. That is subjective, but might be seen as commonsense. The precedent was set when Richard Lawson rode for Ipswich last Saturday so the Danny Phillips decision followed that precedent. What should happen is that a 'Supplementary Regulation' be issued by the SCB clarifying that Play-Off fixtures take priority over other fixtures - if that has been done it doesn't yet appear on the SCB website.
