Championship Pairs
NeilWatson replied to eric i's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
On the night, a tie was to be decided: 1 Who beat who 2 The team that had the highest heat score (7-2, 6-3, 5-4) 3 By ballot Sheffield had two last places to Scunthorpe’s one, in a tournament based on team-riding, I wonder if ‘least last places’ would be a fairer way of deciding a tie. -

The same situation will now arise on 13th October - Newcastle v Redcar in CLKOC final, Wolverhampton v Peterborough in PST. (Charles Wright and Ulrich Ostergaard). -

It is still a valid league match. The cut-off date is simply an arbitrary date to allow the play-off teams to be known. The season carries on until 31st October. I would expect the matter had been discussed and resolved prior to the date being announced. -

https://ipswichwitches.co/changes-to-play-off-dates/ The ‘Tru Plant’ Witches will now face the Poole Pirates in the Premiership Play-Off semi-final with amended dates to those published originally. Ipswich were due to travel to Dorset on Monday 23rd September but due to the poor weather forecast on the south coast, the away leg has been moved to Thursday 26th September with the return fixture at Foxhall now taking place on Saturday 28th September. The other semi-final will be contested between the Swindon Robins and the Wolverhampton Wolves. Wolverhampton’s home leg will be on Monday 30th September before they head to the Abbey Stadium on Thursday 3rd October. The final will take place over two legs the following week on Monday 7th October and Thursday 10th October. All play-off fixtures will also be live on BT Sport but make sure you don’t miss a big night for the town at Foxhall next Saturday. -

The rule is quite clear and doesn't include any qualification regarding the cut-off date. However, as we know all rules in Speedway are subject to the caveat that Management Committee can make a decision 'in the best interests of the sport', and it may be that ensuring the most attractive line-up for the sport's media partner comes firmly under that heading. -

Isn’t it time to move on from ‘Horton bashing’? Mick has lost a great deal of money running speedway over the years - any ideas that he was trousering funds are pie in the sky.

Any loan fee is for the whole of the remaining season calculated on a daily basis. (A full season is 231 days). If a rider is released during the season and signs elsewhere the appropriate loan fee is charged by the first loaning Club to the second Club. Full payment in advance is required. -

The ‘mess’ dates back to mid January when the team Ged and I proudly unveiled in December started to be dismantled by the new owner. http://www.peterborough-speedway.com/_mobile/news.php?extend.3560

That transaction was nullified by the BSPA management committee last season - at that time Jason became a BSPA asset. -
Possibly, as I said a starting average would be based on previous experience elsewhere, that could be deemed to warrant a starting average over 4.
-
Under this year’s regulations a new rider would be graded based on his experience elsewhere, with a minimum average of 4.

The first image shows tenting over the main ring, the second (much older) image gives an indication of where the track sits on the site, incidentally the disused car track can be seen at the bottom of the second image.

As I recall, following the sad death of Craig Featherby the original floodlights and stop lights were moved back from the fence. That was some years before the new floodlights were installed, which I believe was to meet FIM regulations ready for the World Cup/ World U21 at the beginning of the 2000s.

Anyone claiming to the contrary is wrong.
