  1. Dull meeting so far but on the plus side I bet on chris holder each way 😀
  2. Engine tuning has gone out the window in the early stages of this one , set the bike to gate , ride using throttle control and put a few tear offs on , some body languages saying not to keen on the track
  3. Pit gate needs to be shut like it is in British league for restarts , get them back to start there is no need to tighten chain or refuel
  4. I think it's more of a private matter what riders get paid more than anything else, if a rider wants to tell people how much he earns then fine but I feel it's not right for anybody else but as much as the outgoings for riders are substantial a lot of them do make good money or at least decent money but as been said many times it's not that they don't deserve it and more it's just not there anymore , reading Workington's piece in the star , they are struggling to get crowds of 500 , that is very alarming to everybody but it won't even register with riders , I do sympathise with the riders to a point but why are they not asking for costs to be cut ? Everytime they are offered something to cut costs they don't want to know because in their head they will be somehow at a disadvantage and they can't see that in the long run they will be the one who gains , Steve worralls response was this is 2017 not 1967 the sport has moved on , has it ? Cause as far as I can see it's gone backwards
  5. what I meant by that was the IOW are doing a great job of promoting but are being let down by the sport in general being in a mess , the NL job was mentioned to me a couple of weeks ago that's why I put it on Facebook as he was retiring , I wanted to see who people thought who is replacement would be ,not saying I wouldn't be interested but it's not something I am looking to do but it won't happen anyway because of how these people are chosen no matter if they are the right person or not, my mrs said she is going to apply to get the job just to see if she gets an interview or even a reply
  6. be honest how many of you have just googled the meaning of this word 😉
  7. I had 2 , to be a speedway rider and own my own business, achieved both so now I'm trying to invent a time machine so as I can go back 25 years and be a speedway rider again But it's proving to be tough one to crack , I've watched all the "back to the future " films but all that happened when I drove my van down a street at 80mph in a thunder storm was I got a speeding ticket
  8. im going to use Steve worrall here as an example, 50 meetings in the uk will be an income of around 40-60 grand depending on your deal , your expenses have to come out of that which are quite substantial , Steve points out he would need another job to make it pay but then goes on to say how he wants to get to the top but he isn't going to do that while he is working at McDonald's to subsidise his earnings but the point is his other job should riding on a Sunday in Poland , that's his way to the top and his earnings and the one league 18 teams on set days would be perfect for him to achieve that but strangely he can't seem to see it , on the other side you have the josh autys who are with no disrespect going to get to the top but still need to earn a living from uk speedway , can they not make it pay on 50 meetings ? Scott Nichols only rides for one club and he makes it pay ,riders deserve to millionaires but in the real world the sport is running on amatuer finances and as hard as it is to take is just isn't a job that is able to afford the earnings that riders want ,we have to cut our cloth accordingly , get the basics of the sport on a sound footing and when that is right sell it to the public , when the public come in big numbers the riders can expect big money again but until that happens riders have got to accept the real world of where we are , as with most of my posts I will be a popular as cold sick with the riders but I didn't put us where we are I'm just bringing the bad news
  9. he says in the star today he won't be riding in the championship next season cause he wants to ride in Poland and Sweden , hence my post
  10. i said in earlier post on Monday and Thursday , for me this is the perfect compromise for both riders and fans with the only sticking point being if teams can't get their stadiums on those days
  11. the riders. Roberts lamberts piece in the star today , the one league 18 teams running on set days would be the perfect thing for him as it would be for worrall if he could only see it
  12. good piece in SS but after seeing the riders responses to the twitter poll I don't think the riders are listening and I think for the bspa to listen they have got to go against the riders wishes , is that going to happen ?
  13. I feel the IOW are doing the right things in the right way but are being held back by the sport
  14. i thought kildermand was the replacement for pedersen and smolinski was for Hancock ??
  15. I'm not losing interest in speedway in general it's just British speedway , I still love the GPs and attend some of them and I love polish extraleague ,I subscribe to polish tv just for that and have been there this season to see some but British speedway has just lost my interest , I still go to buxton occasionally but it's more to see friends and the fact that it's close to where we walk the dog than the speedway itself ,it's not the racing there is good and bad racing in all speedway it's just everything else ,rules these days are reactive rather than proactive and often stink of desperation and even the most dedicated fans are totally perplexed by some of the rules and how they are interpretated , there is no or very little vision and I feel the fans are a second thought , I know some like Berwick and the Isle of Wight and a couple of others are really trying but are being held back by speedway in general in Britain ,nobody seems to know what to do and to me it just feels like we are plodding along , I care deeply about speedway especially in Britain ,that's why I keep mooting any ideas or thoughts on here and Facebook etc , when I read Phillip risings post " it looks like doubling up is here to stay" I just felt like another kick in the balls for fans ,where is our voice ? We don't seem to matter and I think it's just wore me down ,at speedway ,riders are one side of the fence and fans are the other and that is becoming true off the track aswel but the fence seems to getting higher , its speedways job and purpose to make you want attend and for me British speedway isn't doing that
  16. have you noticed how similar the racing is to last year when it was a poznan , fast but no passing ,I'm told this is because the guy who does the track wants it that way not because the shape or shale , I've never been to poznans track but I'm told it's a good race track but last year it was a no pass track
  17. then why the hell did the bspa announce it , they really are their own worst enemy
  18. Genuine question as I losing track of who rides where , does Scott Nichols double up ?
  19. why wouldn't they if they remained fit ?, I was spanering for skornicki until he got the sack , he was only riding for wolves and about 10 meetings for rawicz around 40 meetings in total so it can be done ,
  20. but fans are being lost and this should be no1 priority , guests but only for injuries or for no1s
  21. if it's 50 meetings that's 2 meetings a week from march till October , how many more do they want ? They don't do 100 now
  22. i fail to understand how a rider can not make it pay on 50 meetings a year without guest bookings which is what one league with 18 teams would give and I'm not the only one who thinks this ,but more importantly the sport is losing about 10 fans a week because of stupid things like doubling up , I have sympathy with the riders I've been there I know the costs but when a suggestion is put to them about cost saving they gang up to rubbish it , I also know this I was one of them but you don't feel how heavy the rain is until you step outside
