  3. My human rights and my religious beliefs demand noisey motorsport .are my rights not as important as any other human?
  4. Cheap speedway rolling chassis ,suit beginer or amatuer ,stuha frame antig forks £350 .message me
  5. Every year so called tennis fans come out of the woodwork and jizz themselves over tom hienman or whatever his name is ,these people are the same people that are currently jizzing themselves over curling. ,Its not a threat to speedway ,the only threat to speedway is the people who run it . Curling is just another media induced crap that we are forced fed in this country
  6. i wish i was a few quid behind them. Accouts and reality can be very different
  7. as the statement said its on hold for the moment ,we are not giving up .
  8. Dosent matter how much the sky deal is worth there are people within our cash strapped sport who are not feeling the pinch like the rest of the country is and this has been the case for years. To many hoovers and not enough radiators in our sport
  9. Not really a suprise is it. Should of gone to Phil Morris or even maybe someone like John "mavis"Davis, Chris Morton or Colin Pratt but hey ho its rosco so we will back him
  10. of course rhey are not easily won back but whats the alternative ,stay are we are? With crowds getting less every year. The future of speedway depends on getting more fans old or new and charging £17 is doing the opposite
  11. it does if they all returned to watch the sport . We wouldnt need to worrying about the future of speedway would we .from my own point of view speedway is too expensive to watch. But you can pay the £17 and i will give it a miss like the others who are in the wrong . I really hope you are right but i just dont see it. I said this before, making it a £10 sport will do nothing to get stay away fans to attend unless you address the issues within the sport and make the sport attractive to people ,then when they are tempted the £10 swings the balance in speedways favour .
  12. it must be a big planet because there is a lot of them
  13. the chairman is one of many share holders ,he has just brought more shares than most although other share holders have put in substantial amounts too. If anybody seriously wants to invest in the IOW then contact them . sent you a pm bryn
  14. The cut down situation is this .the club lost around £20,000 and apart from the money raised for the airfence there is no money left in the pot .the shareholders money has kept the sport going till now but unless someone comes in and has money to burn it cant carry on . The chairman has put nearly £100,000 in over a number of years ,its not that he dosent want to run speedway he just dosent want to put any more of his own money in. The 100-120 crowd levels are out of summer season and crowds are better in july-august. The IOW had an expensive team last season and the with a cheaper team yes the losses will be less but it still will be loss unless someone can turn crowd numbers round but that someone has got to be prepared to lose money. There is no miss management or any other issues stopping speedway ,its just the fact that as it is at the moment is not finacially viable . Nobody including the chairman or any of the share holders want the IOW to close but unless money is found to carry on it looks inevitable. If i had the money i would do it myself but i dont and nobody seems to coming forward with offers
  15. isnt that just a chinese bloke talking about the people on jeremy kyle
  16. Ive a brought a few bikes in the last couple of years for less than £500 and they are good enough to compete in the NL but there comes a point where they become classics and sudenly are worth a lot more .around 15 years ago you couldnt give a weslake bike away .try to buy one today for less than £1000. Same with japs and 2valve jawa. Currently the early laydowns from 95/96 are pretty worthless but are still good enough for NL but kids these days will never ride them .already early GM,s are starting to fetch good money again but 10 years ago were worthless if that bike were still around today it would be worth £3500+
  17. 1.Sam Ermolenko ,sam is my all time hero. A great rider and a great bloke. When i put buxtons airfence meeting on this year he was great to deal with. 2.Jan Staechmann, jan is another great bloke who i had the pleasure to ride with for stoke. 3.Tomasz Gollob ,when he is at his best he is amazing. 4 Buzz Burrows ,just generally out of control on a bike but a great bloke off it .5.Nicki Pedersen ,the gp's will be a poorer place when he retires. 6.Darcy Ward ,dont like his off track antics but he is amazing on a bike. 7. Mark Loram ,an all out action rider .8.anybody thats ever raced a speedway bike
  18. the share is worth nothing unless the isle of wight starts making millions . Nobody brought shares to make money it was to keep the isle of wight running
  19. the introduction of the green helmet colour helped colourblind people of which i am one. Just another example of stupid idea's of which speedway seems to have cornered the market. I said it before speedway has always been a garden shed raw type of sport .its dirty and basic and thats it apeal .its trying to be something its not ,its trying to be like F1 and failing and in the process its also alienating the people who love it
  20. its not that the chairman dosent want to run speedway its that he dosent want to put anymore money into it. He has put a serious amount of money into the IOW .you cant really blame him for not wanting to put more
  21. its not about having a finacial intrest in the club. The fact is the someone needs to step in and run the speedway .all the share holders want the speedway to run and not for money reasons. The share holders are fans ,but whoever steps in will straight away be running a club thats loosing £20,000 a year .yes savings could be made and maybe that person could turn things around but that person needs to have £20,000 to burn just incase they dont turn it around. I would love to be that person and have given them ideas where some savings can be made but the fact is i just dont have the money to do it. I like others dont really care what happens to the shares i currently have i just want the IOW to continue. I will just add last seasons team was a very expensive team for the national league and £20,000 was probly a one off as far a losses go but it stil looses £1000s .
  22. it is owned by the shareholders of which i am one but basically someone needs to come in and run it but all the losses incured will be theirs and thats a lot to ask of someone
  23. it can but ask yourself if you were in that position and sort of fell out of love with speedway would you do the same and off load the speedway?
  24. well it is run as one with the other stuff but the bloke who runs it dosent want to run the speedway anymore because thats the bit which is losing money. He is more than happy for speedway to continue but dosent want to finace it himself
  25. no the loss is the speedway itself. But i believe whoever comes in to run it only gets the speedway itself
