can anyone tell me how big the crowd was?

the fault here lies entirely with BSI who accepted assurances from the Swedish federation that the track would be up to scratch notwithstanding last years poor surface. BSI are newcomers, who has heard of Mr P previously? they have made a serious error of judgement here that might cost them their credibility if there are any further problems. We all know that none of the governing bodies of speedway have any teeth so they are unlikely to be thrown out this time but if they loose the support of the fans then it's good night campers. As i said to a very flustered John Postlethwaite on saturday evening it could have been worse, i could have gone to the Austrailian GP (if it ever happens again!) Regardless of weather conditions on the preceeding days how could they have not had anyone doing some laps on the friday to test the track, i see that they have at least learnt from this by announcing that Tony Rickardsson will "test" the track on thursday night.

the insider is i believe correct. i was staying in the same hotel as the BSI party and Mr Olsen and Messrs Gollob, Nicholls, Richardson etc and there were various whispers. in addition a rider who was on a sunday night flight back to London basically confirmed what he posted but not in so many words
