  1. A positive if cautious statement but given local elections etc and the speed that local authorities go at thats not surprising Lets hope that when they conclude these investigations the outcome will be positive
  2. Imminently someone told me yesterday (not an official source though)
  3. Track was rough after the stock cars, several grades in the first few heats, not enough water down. Finally sorted after the interval and some decent races in the later heats Presentation is pretty dull as mentioned elsewhere which is a shame as they have the chance to do something new. The tannoy is also pretty quiet in certain areas. More importantly though they need a couple of changes in the team, presumably Zagar will be back plus 1 other needed. A decent crowd (I'd say approx 1k?) but they really need some home wins or people will get fed up
  4. Probably because the GP series they took over was losing money and required stabilising first to put it back on an even keel
  5. Can they realistically bring Zagar back but retain Jeppesen?
  6. I think Discovery had some discussions with the London Stadium a few years ago (2022 ish) which i believe were positive although they stuck with Cardiff in the end. The stadium were keen afaik but I know West Ham want to take control of the stadium and if they can strike a deal with the Mayor then it might be more difficult
  7. I think the demise of the speedway GP finances may well be linked to the fall off in Cardiff attendances/sponsorship hence why it was the first to be cut
  8. Who might Northampton get instead though? Plus they may also have ideas about replacing Klindt
  9. I was at the Lynn match, I'd say between 1,300 and 1,500
  10. Whereas they announced over the tannoy whilst the injured riders were being treated and before the exclusion light came on that "the ref was reviewing the video footage"
  11. Just back. Very decent set up, track needs a bit of work, bit narrow on entrance and exit of the corners but they could extend it on to the infield in time There's an outside line on 1 and 2 if you get it right as Bomber did in one heat, nothing on 3rd and 4th though, reminded me of Foxhall The team however is very Birmingham notwithstanding injuries to Niels and Zagar, if they can't get Lidsey, Klindt and Batchelor going it's hard to see who they might beat. Kye Thomson showing them the way, absolutely brilliant performance but he won't score that every week
  12. I'm going to this, it'll be close i think 46-44 Foxes
  13. No mainstream tv as well means reduced interest in the sport generally whether people like that or not
  14. This weeks Star says the fence is still on order, the pits haven't been built yet and there is work to do on the stanchions. Once its done they are hoping to arrange a practice day
  15. Complex negotiations are ongoing Fingers crossed for a success resolution
  16. Did ok in the GP series but no impact in the Premier League but thats hardly surprising given the current set up
  17. It may not be that simple depending on the lease arrangement. Fingers crossed the speedway can continue though
  18. If the lease allows assignment and/or if the landlords are so minded Fingers crossed for a resolution
  19. It's all very Birmingham isn't it but that's no surprise to anyone They will have to try and change it up as the season progresses but even that has become incredibly difficult now
  20. I guess what it means is that some of the serious stuff hasn't yet been sorted They are certainly taking their time i can understand the team not being announced until it's complete though
  21. Todays Star says "we understand that there is a wish that all relevant club information will be announced at the same time"
