I've never known Redknapp to mention speedway, I've never seen him at Poole or any other track for that matter Perhaps he's introducing Bet Victor as the new League sponsors... Triffic

What about Northampton?
noaksey replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yes agreed, I meant more backing the project rather than running it per se. I wouldn't try and open Northampton whilst Brandon is still up in the air A large proportion of expected fans would surely come from Coventry way? -

Personally I think the only chance Northampton would have of making a proper go of it is if the Save Coventry Crew (speedway side not stocks) were prepared to consider that if they ever gave up on Brandon -
All privately owned though

On the subject of merch I was in Loughborough last week and a chap in the high street was wearing his Leicester Lions shirt Had a chat with him about the play offs A rare event anywhere these days

Is it wide enough with air fences up? -
The original post said around 6. 6.30 isnt around 6 but fine, the turnstiles have never been open that early when I've been to Owlerton but the regulars will know more As Iain says some kind of official policy on this can only assist. I walked through the turnstiles at Belle Vue just as they announced the meeting was off.

Id say 1500 maybe a bit more Possibly though the reduced "covid" capacity is still in place as indeed it was at Monmore

I think it's no good for him and no good for the sport either. The fact that you can lose these sort of figures is alarming. It'll be interesting to see what happens at the other tracks given some of the rumours around over the last few months

No point in anyone moving up unless there's some form of rider control introduced. There aren't enough top riders around so you can replace Birmingham with Northampton but where are the heat leaders coming from. Oxford, Lynn and Birmingham unsurprisingly are once again the poor teams this year. -
If its true that they have to be out by the end of August then they can't fit another meeting in plus the planning permission only allows one meeting per week

I quite fancy the 4 bed detached with views over the scrapyard

Interesting thanks for posting If a judicial review is applied for it has the potential to be very expensive in terms of legal costs. Im not sure on the position regarding the council's costs in the event that Forever Panthers lose the review

Wimbledon Dons...back from the dead?!!

I'd be amazed if Arena Essex came back at the Raceway even with Jeff Bezos backing them. There's zero interest in speedway from the land owners -
Looking at the filing history the last accounts filed were for the year ended 2022

I think they know what's what when it comes to visa issues in fairness
-
Thats an interesting angle, presumably in a speedway scenario the 3rd party has to be approved by the BSPL?
-
So as its the club thats been suspended (rather than Zagar for Brum for example) does that suggest an issue with the sponsor licence?
-
There has to be a reset on costs (for promoters and fans) soon if its to survive in anything like its current format Some tough decisions to be made i think but will they...

Rumours also that Leicester are struggling with crowds. Grim news when these purpose built venues that are always held up as the way forwards hit difficulties I hope its resolved soon

Birmingham v Sheffield Mon 16th June PL

Sam Masters for Pickers Zach Cook for Rowe -
Absolutely, the legal fees could be substantial if the matter ends up in the lands tribunal. Be interesting to see if the Council are prepared to do this in the current financial climate. I wonder what offer they'd make for the CPO? You'd pretty much expect BE to appeal whatever it is though
