  1. Depends if the lease he has signed allows him to sublet
  2. And Poole where they are the leaseholders
  3. I'd imagine as well as the viewing figures anything going forward will depend on how the production costs are going to be paid. I doubt we will find out but it would be interesting to know who paid Saturdays costs
  4. Redcar match now 3pm instead of 6 so no good for me as AFC Workington v Leek kicks off at 3pm. I told a few people that you could do a football/speedway double header as well.... Luckily I hadn't booked my hotel as the club hadn't replied to my message about the start time... Just shows you can't rely on a published fixture list these days when travelling any distance Maybe next season..
  5. He's moving back to Aus isn't he? If he's interested he can get involved in the speedway scene down there like Darcy. I'm sure he'd be welcomed with open arms
  6. This is great news, I wonder who is paying the broadcast costs but either way it's a great opportunity to get a terrestial broadcaster interested
  7. Less meetings probably means higher rents though I'd expect. You do wonder where a tv deal (that actually pays proper money not the other way round) and sponsorship might come from. Maybe Coleman has some ideas on this
  8. We were talking about potential replacements last night Charles Wright and Jeppesen were the best we could come up with unless the Polish connection can produce someone
  9. It's madness. Perhaps the remaining 12 should go it alone on that basis
  10. John Campbell in today's Star All the championship clubs want 1 league, a couple of the Premier clubs might like 1 big league Peter Oakes "the majority of fans appear to want 1 big league" So basically 11 of the current clubs are apparently in favour but (lets say) the 4 that aren't seem to hold sway.... It's an interesting set up Speedway
  11. Is the Redcar fixture 29/8 6pm? I'm hoping to do Workington v Leek at Derwent Park at 3pm then round to the speedway Tia
  12. Alternatively the sport as a whole looks at resolutions that would stop clubs losing serious money every season, perhaps this is what Coleman was getting at as in an 8 team premiership with everyone else in a watered down championship with reduced costs Something needs to change regardless
  13. Absolutely, let's hope it's not true or can be avoided but with the closure of the Comets at Derwent previously it seems there isnt enough support for speedway up there
  14. Is the future for Workington (and a few others) in the National League with associated practice and open days?
  15. It'll be interesting to see how the Wroclaw "partnership" with Ipswich goes, maybe other Polish teams will be interested in something similar?
  16. I now have no local track This season I've been to 2 Northampton meetings (3 hour round trip) with a further one planned plus 1 visit to Ipswich (2 and a half hour round trip) That's my lot and will probably remain so each season under this format
  17. 3 things can happen Sheffield can either get sponsorship.and investment externally, they can accept that Speedway in 2026 has to be owner funded or they can pack up No doubt they've done their best to arrange the first one and are still trying, the second one is ongoing which leaves.....
  18. A positive if cautious statement but given local elections etc and the speed that local authorities go at thats not surprising Lets hope that when they conclude these investigations the outcome will be positive
  19. Imminently someone told me yesterday (not an official source though)
  20. Track was rough after the stock cars, several grades in the first few heats, not enough water down. Finally sorted after the interval and some decent races in the later heats Presentation is pretty dull as mentioned elsewhere which is a shame as they have the chance to do something new. The tannoy is also pretty quiet in certain areas. More importantly though they need a couple of changes in the team, presumably Zagar will be back plus 1 other needed. A decent crowd (I'd say approx 1k?) but they really need some home wins or people will get fed up
  21. Probably because the GP series they took over was losing money and required stabilising first to put it back on an even keel
