Belle Vues National Speedway Stadium
Gemini replied to Phil The Ace's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
A Baffle Bank - that's a new one. Have you been to Leicester and seen them? If the mounds were purely to reduce noise they would be put round the stadium not a mile away. Well, it seems like a mile when walking from the shopping centre car park but it's probably not that far. -

Reminds me a bit of Leicester's great plans for their site but all that's happened in the three years after the speedway was built is a load of earth being dumped everywhere. -
I think you can add Long Eaton to that list as well? Never trust a plan that involves both speedway and housing because no-one would want to buy a house next to a motor sport stadium.

Only another month? Better keep him on ignore then. -

I've got 3 people on ignore but I don't suppose I have to bother about one anymore because he is residing in an Australian prison. Don't think he has access to the internet in there. -

I think you're just going to have to develop a 'thick skin' and ignore any aggressive comments because that's the style of some members on the forum and they aren't going to change. Alternatively you could always put selected members on your ignore list then you won't have to read any of their posts. Click on your name at top right, then 'Manage Ignore Prefs', add the names and save. -

Wait until the Winter when there's no speedway 'cos it gets a lot worse. -
Where's SCB - he'll sort it out.

Message To The Leicester Promotor

As rants go that was pretty good. -
Doubt there will be an Elite League next season. Hopefully the G.P. riders will be ditched along with some of the dodgy foreigners and we can get back to some sort of normality riding every week.
-
Heaven knows how we got there but I decided to follow the sat-nav instructions and it all became rather interesting to say the least. It was pretty normal until we got to Ashbourne but then we seemed to go 'off road' and ended up doing a number of miles on single track roads. Thanks for the post code Alan but never again.

Ah yes......High Edge I think. Otherwise where will they end up - Leek?
-
Looking forward to this meeting as I've not been to Buxton for a couple of years. Any other Coventry fans making the trip? If you've not been before - just keep going as you really will end up at a speedway track eventually.

No it hasn't. All 30 pages are still here. http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=73279

I wonder if it's the same person who did the Poole ones? They were hillarious........except if you were a Pirates fan perhaps. -

Brilliant. -
No news is presumably good news? Just had another load of rain in Leicester though. Ooops....beaten to it by Mr Watson. Don't give any forecasts Neil.
-
I'd say arrive an hour before the start if you want to get in the car park. We got there at 6.40pm on Saturday and it was already full. However, there were probably more there because it was a top of the table clash - even I went for the first time this season. It's a heck of a walk from the shopping centre unless you are young and sprightly - which I'm not.
-
Well done The Storm. Didn't go to this as I was making my first visit of the season to my local track (Leicester) but I'll be there on Friday and also hope to go to the Buxton meeting on July 7th.
-
Made my first visit of the season and it looks like I picked a good meeting because I'm wondering why some fans moan about the track being the wrong shape if it can produce such exciting racing. Think I need to go for a lie down as I'm beginning to agree with David. After a very drawn out start when I began to think it was going to be one of those nights and I wished I'd stayed at home in the warm things improved and there was some excellent racing. Lions were 12 points up after eight heats so I'm sure the end result was disappointing but as I suppose I can be classed as a neutral I just enjoyed watching the battling performances from the back by Morris, Doyle and Josh. It showed that if riders attack the track there is plenty of passing and it is not just a gaters paradise. Well done to Somerset on their one point victory.

Good post nobblytriers which just about sums up the situation. One of my pet hates is repetition so although I may agree with a lot of what Robert says I think we've all got the message now and it's just boring repeating the same things over and over again. -
Coventry Storm V Kent Friday 14th June --7.30 Start Not 8pm
Gemini replied to Main Man's topic in National League Speedway
Agree. I don't think either that a race should be called back if a rider happens to make a good start as long as he isn't rolling before the tapes go up. Some riders just have quicker reactions and some don't......Chris Harris for example.
