  1. Bet you can't get tickets on the first or second bend on the day! I know False dawn was a bit late booking his this year and he had to go on the 4th bend as they were sold out.
  2. Tickets for the best seats and the first/second bend are likely to sell pretty quickly so if that's where you plan to be then I wouldn't wait very long before ordering.
  3. Since when has Wales been so big?! We will be on holiday the week before Cardiff now the date has changed, but I wasn't too concerned because I thought at least we are already in Wales rather than Cornwall or Scotland. However, now I've checked on the AA route finder from Abergele to Cardiff is 215 miles. We have almost got to come back home again to pick up the M6 (Stoke on Trent) and M5 (Birmingham). Surely there is a quicker way than this?
  4. But have you seen any of the G.P's from Cardiff on Sky? "Proper" track or not there was some terrific racing this year and in 2004. (I can't remember any further back than that!)
  5. How much have they gone up overall? The £27 tickets are now £29 so that's not too bad - just a £2 rise.
  6. I'm not really a happy bunny either at the change from the second Saturday in June to the week before. We will be on holiday in North Wales that week so the problem now is what do we do with the pup? Jemma always comes to Cardiff with us for the weekend so that's no problem, but the plans were to leave Molly with my daughter. That idea has all gone to pot now. Anyone know of a good kennels in Cardiff?
  7. Ordered ours now and have had a similar thing happen. Just one seat away from where we were this year. Great news! Only £13 each too. (There is something to be said for getting older.) Just got to sort the pup out now as we will already be on holiday in North Wales that week. It wasn't in our plans to have her with us, but unfortunately moving the date a week back has put a spanner in the works.

    Leathers

And not forgetting Simon Wigg with his very distictive lime green leathers.
  9. Photo of Jack Winstanley - with Charlie Barsby another Leicester favourite - taken at the reunion last November. http://community.webshots.com/photo/246145...450617580MjXmrK
  10. Bit annoying that. We can all see his sponsor's name without him keep pointing at it every time the camera crew comes near him. I can't remember any other rider continually doing this. Mind you at least he sees them coming most of the time. Obviously not when Sophie Blake headed his way for an interview recently, which had to be delayed because he was too busy picking his nose.
  11. What no Coventry where G.P's have been successfully held before? Peterborough would be no good unless you can get in the grandstand. Have you never been to the old Four Team Cup Finals when it was really popular? Viewing from the back straight was awful unless you could get right near the front.
  12. Subedei you don't have to keep this up any longer. Steve Shovlar is back now to take over his spot again of number one wind up merchant. Personally I thought it was a brilliant G.P. with passing in nearly all of the races. Great stuff.
  13. It would be really nice for Scott Nicholls to get a G.P. win under his belt, but he's had 3 or 4 bad falls recently so I wonder how fit he will be. Just stay safe Scott. Coventry need you on Monday!
  14. Are you on NTL? We get Sky Sports Xtra included in the sports package now - on number 970. Try that to see if you can get it.
  15. That really is an amazing record. I doubt if it would ever happen over here as riders seem to swop and change clubs on a regular basis. Mateusz. Thanks for the translation.
  16. Always on the cards I suppose, but I hope not as the second Saturday in June has so far been lovely weather and nice for all those who like to sit outside the various pubs enjoying the sunshine.
  17. Someone needs to please! I'm glad to hear the lad is back in training (well I'm not really as I think he should pack speedway in as it's too dangerous.) I think those photos brought it home to me just how horrific speedway crashes can be - probably because over here we don't get shown close ups of an injured rider. I thought about him for ages afterwards and hoped he was recovering okay. Glad to hear that's the case. That's a blast from the past Tommy as he rode for us (Leicester) in the 70's. He must be even older than Sam Ermolenko.
  18. True! I know I would hate it as I prefer the good old-fashioned British way. I can't see our health & safety regulations allowing all those flares for a start. We get frisked at Coventry to see what we're taking into the stadium now and it's only a couple of packets of crisps and a flask of coffee.
  19. Great photos Lawrence. Why don't you enter the forum photographic competition? Jim Blanchard is looking for more entries and it looks like you have plenty of photos to choose from. I particularly liked that one of the sunset behind the spotlight. Very artistic.
  20. Looks more like a war zone than a speedway meeting Mateusz. Not something I would like personally, but each to their own as they say. Wouldn't be able to take my two dogs to any matches in Poland obviously. They would be terrified. ... Any news of that young lad who went over the fence during one of the matches a few weeks ago, when some pictures were put on here? I hope he has now fully recovered.
  21. In the case of Cardiff I'm afraid it doesn't. Their tickets were on sale last August for the 2005 G.P. I know because I bought mine then. Hoping it is June 10th because like a lot of people I've already booked the same hotel for that weekend.
  22. I think Ross is only young so I doubt if he will have heard of any of the riders you mention. Just a shame I remember all of them. Incidentally Jack Winstanley was at a recent Leicester reunion and was the oldest rider there. I hope he manages to come down again on September 20th for the next one when John Boulger will be the star guest.
  23. The Leicester rider in white looks like Steve Regeling, but of course I could be totally wrong as usual.
  24. Thanks for the updates. We had to leave before the end as we had to pick up my daughter's dog who we are looking after for the weekend. I was hoping to be able to watch all of the junior racing but it got too late, following the long drawn out match between Bees & Wolves, then several falls in the Academy match delaying things even further. Hope none of the riders were injured.
  25. Sad isn't it? He has always looked really nice but has decided to go down the road of highlights and spikey hair. Not that I notice these things....but....Gary Havelock seems to be having a mid-life crisis as well. Hope Rabbit doesn't see that comment.
