Polish Grand Prix - Bydgoszcz
Gemini replied to Subedei's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Just wanted to say commiserations to the poor Hedgehog that was run over before the meeting so that Sam Ermolenko could wear it on his head. Very bad taste Sam. -

She sure will. Just say the word and I'll pack her bags. Don't suppose you could manage two of them could you? Is the bag big enough? -
Not having any luck Tommy? I've got some photos on my webshots albums - the speedway ones. Don't suppose they are any good for you but you could have a look. http://community.webshots.com/user/hambolwen

Television Commentaries And Interviews

We might disagree on who is the best presenter, Sophie Blake or Julia Bradbury, but that I do agree with. -

At last someone who appreciates a good presenter when they see one rather than just being influenced by a model type figure and pretty face. Julia Bradbury was best of the lot. Just a pity she was only mostly seen on the channel four highlights show. -
Ah...but that would make it possible to scan the picture and then print off your own photo. Can't be having that.

Not this one is it? http://community.webshots.com/photo/246145...15100466dNosAM#

.... Hope it's not going to kick off while I'm on holiday so I miss it. .....

Maybe, but it would be a shame if it was at the expense of another track shutting.

I hope this isn't going to go the same way as Handlebars parts one and two? Where have you been Sandman? Got caught up in a storm somewhere? I was really worried - not about you but the assorted pets you have on board.

I think Long Eaton have had a few name changes - another one was The Invaders. Incidentally I was talking to someone at the Leicester reunion on Tuesday and he seemed to think it is all systems go at Station Road, but as we have heard that before I guess we'll just have to wait and see what develops this time - if anything.

Czech Grand Prix - Prague
Gemini replied to Subedei's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
It might already be a foregone conclusion that TR will be this year's G.P. champion, but I still don't find it boring. If anything had happened to him in the last two G.P's we'd all be moaning about it being a fix so the result was in doubt until the final one. At least everything is above board and I for one still enjoy watching Tony race. It will be interesting to see who comes 2nd and 3rd and which riders are in the final 8 who qualify for 2006. It's still speedway - how can it be boring? -
Also for the Leicester one on July 19th.

Who Met Who At Cardiff?
Gemini replied to batesie's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Don't want to worry you, but that could have been Steve Turner. Pink hat, mini-skirt, thigh length boots, flowered top? -
Danish Grand Prix - Copenhagen
Gemini replied to Subedei's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I can't understand why Bernie is posting like this tonight because if you read her other posts she is perfectly understandable and her punctuation and spelling are good. Perhaps I'll just give them a miss tonight as I can't understand them. Normal service resumed tomorrow no doubt. -

Thanks Shirls. I don't know what happened then as we were at Cardiff. Worst thing is I lent it to someone on Friday at Coventry and forgot to mention about the 2 minute blackness. Never mind they will soon find out. -

Jay.......As if I'd forget meeting you after you've been keeping out of my way (or so it seems) for so long. This is a thread about who we met in Cardiff. You get full recognition in the Swindon v Coventry one. "I wish you'd all stop saying that. Could be serious egg on face time come Sunday evening. I prefer to be more pessimistic and then it's really nice when things turn out well." "Serious egg on face time it was then. Pretty awful performance by the Coventry riders, with a couple of exceptions, and a boring meeting but as I spent a lot of the evening with the lovely Addy the speedway came second anyway. Thank goodness for forum members to take my mind off the track "action". So many were there too and I met up with False dawn, Full Throttle, Dave Jones, A61, The Fairies, Grachan, ArnieG, Joanne, Kevin Hammond, Chivs, Robbie_45, Woody the Bee, Steve Turner, Sullyrox, shortoi, Silver Cheetah, Ballinger, London Witch and Witches v Hammers. Nice to meet for the first time at last! JAY, also Buzzybee. I think that's the lot. Sorry if I've missed anyone. By the way I needn't have worried about the fireworks after all as the dog hated Swindon before the match even started so I took her back to the car. Perhaps she knew what was coming." -

....How on earth do you manage that? My dog put her paw down at wearing a black/yellow scarf many years ago. -

Some people are just miserable. What's wrong with downloading a few photos of forum members so I can put them in my photo album? -

Managed to set the video okay and even allowed an extra hour in case it went over, but did anyone else miss half of heat 8? The screen was black for about a minute or two. Perhaps it was just NTL as no-one else seems to have mentioned it. -
Who Met Who At Cardiff?
Gemini replied to batesie's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Didn't meet many as we didn't go to the Prince of Wales, but were kept busy keeping Pawprint on the run so she'd be worn out for the evening. Was Sam's Bar shut by the way, as said earlier in the week? Met Andy P for the first time at The Castle, also nice to see Scorpio again. Bumped into Liontamer and his son in the queue for the programmes, also Joanne inside the stadium. That's about it I think. All in all a brilliant weekend, but I wish we'd gone home on Sunday instead of going to the Swindon v Coventry meeting. Still Porthcawl was nice beforehand and the Travel Lodge bed was very comfortable on Sunday night so not completely a waste of time and money. Looking forward to 2006 already. -
Great Venue Terrible Track
Gemini replied to Vincent Vega's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Sorry, but I don't agree with that. I thought it was the best G.P. yet with plenty of passing. Having now watched the Sky broadcast as well there were only 3 heats when there was no passing - heats 10, 18 and the re-run of the 2nd semi-final when there were only three riders. Not bad for 23 heats racing and there aren't many league matches on "proper" tracks where you would see that amount of passing. Brilliant stuff. -
The Ref Is A Clown.
Gemini replied to Vincent Vega's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Surely can't be correct? Marek Wojaczek was the referee printed in the G.P. programme and he was the one who was in charge of the meeting wasn't he? I seem to recall his name being mentioned more than once during the Sky broadcast. -
