Of course it does because it's true. I don't hark back to the past because I know the racing is no worse today than it used to be.

I watched 3 meetings last weekend - two E.L. and one P.L. - at Coventry, Leicester and Peterborough and do you know what all three were exciting and had some brilliant racing so how does that fit in with your assessment? On the other hand I used to think Leicester v Coventry matches back in the 70's and 80's were thrilling, but having recently watched 3 on video (sorry but I'm still old fashioned and have some videos ) the racing was pretty boring with hardly any passing. I blame Ole Olsen. Don't tell him Pike ~ he's a Poole fan and you'll only start him off.

And there isn't the slightest bit of rain on the track.

Now that did make me laugh.

So you're agreeing 100% we should accept that other posters are expressing their own opinion but others who respond are trolling them with their own thoughts. Strange logic that in one case it's an opinion but anyone not agreeing is a troll. I don't get that and don't agree 100%.

I think you're reading posts wrongly again.

The people I'm referring to wouldn't bother if every single thing about the sport was changed and there were 20,000 attendances everywhere because they still wouldn't get off their backside to go. It's much more satisfying for them to sit at their computer moaning about everything and saying how much better speedway was years ago. Just as a matter of interest what would your idea of changes be? GP stars/top riders back over here will miraculously improve attendances enough to pay for their appearance? Unfortunately attendances have been dropping for the past 20 years when they did ride in the UK so that's obviously not the answer. My ideal scenario would be one big league riding Friday/Saturday/Sunday without any disruptive GP riders and no foreigners who can't commit to riding in every UK match. Not going to happen in my lifetime though. One of the best examples is the 1981 World Final at Wembley that everyone seems to rave about. I was there and yes the atmosphere was amazing, but watching the video proves there were only 3 or 4 races that were any good.

I thought his average was too high anyway?

My weekly fix is always at Coventry so about 21 miles from Leicester ~ a quick wiz up the M69 and I can get there in about 20 minutes as long as Lucy is hanging on safely. It takes me about the same time to get to Leicester which is 8 miles away. My favourite track is Peterborough though and I try to get to all their Sunday meetings even though I absolutely hate the journey as I have to go from one side of Leicester to the other to pick up the A47. I did all three last weekend.

It depends how often the negative posts appear and always from the same people who don't even go to Speedway so why do they bother? The only conclusion I can come to is just to bring everyone down to their miserable level. Well, sorry but it won't work with me. I went to 3 meetings in 3 days last weekend - Coventry, Leicester and Peterborough - and enjoyed all three. All contained some excellent racing with Speedway at its best. Perhaps if some of the miseries actually made the effort to go they might also enjoy it rather than continually dwelling in the past. And believe me it's quite an effort for me to go these days but I do and if I ever have to stop attending I certainly won't come on here being negative in every post I make.

Oh gawd. Another negative misery has made a reappearance.

Depends how long Rory will be out I suppose. -
Too right ~ so would I. (There's a shock ~ me agreeing with Game On.) Couldn't resist could you? I thought you weren't going to say anything but you're that excited to get in first that half of your post doesn't make sense anyway......but I get the gist.

Annoying Matt is not a new thing. You can go back 6 years when Coventry had the cheek to beat the Pirates home and away and take the championship. We all know what happened after that.

Along with probably Swindon, Kings Lynn and Leicester. I really don't know where these 'top riders' are going to come from? -
I didn't buy a programme so haven't read the comments but I can understand why fans have gradually dropped off since the track opened because the racing has been very much 'gate and go' with little passing. People will only stand this for so long before getting fed up. My husband went to every match for 3 years but not at all last season. I went occasionally once the dog ban was lifted half way through 2015 and for the first time this season on Saturday to see 2 friends from Kings Lynn. Must say I was very impressed though as the racing was first class ~ whether this is because of two evenly balanced teams or the fact bend 3/4 has been widened I don't know but it was enough to get me interested again so I'll be back. For heaven's sake don't start him off about his "brilliant" speedway career.
-
OMG. That just proves you will never post anything remotely favourable about Leicester and anything you say is best ignored. I don't know why you bother going because no way can you say that was a very poor track but I suppose that's your idea to get attention and it's worked unfortunately. So much so that I'm off for a third today at Peterborough. Hopefully this match will be as good.

Oh for goodness sake you've been told enough times READ THE POSTS and try for once to find your sense of humour. You must have one somewhere hidden away. He said 'sinks' by mistake so I said 'stinks'. Get it now? Nothing to do with your love in for bloody Poole. -
Yes, weather okay so far. Cloudy but the sun keeps making an occasional appearance. There may be the chance of a shower but nothing to cause any problems with the track. I'm going to this one to see whippy so I suppose I'd better be a neutral fan tonight. One bit of advice ~ it's going to be really cold this evening so wrap up warm! I'll be wearing about 5 layers as it worked at Coventry last night.

Enjoy your hols then. It's probably a sight lot warmer than it is here. I just didn't want you to take any notice of Morrissey Fan's reply because he usually talks rubbish. Yes and it stinks too. Yes, me neither. Don't expect much sympathy from Gemini's. -

Why are you taking notice of that stupid reply? Of course there was more than 400 there. Admittedly not as many as there should be for a match against Poole, but the expectation of a thrashing plus really cold weather probably put some off. -
