  1. So???? And sometimes it's a case of mixing him up with his brother Colin.
  2. Track looks in better condition than Lucy will no doubt be after a muddy walk in the wood before the match starts.
  3. We've never had a great deal of money ~ my husband being a milkman for the most part of his working life ~ and me just a mere cleaner for the majority of mine after having children. We've been retired for a number of years now but I've not found it that difficult to find the extra £3. It seems strange the ones who are doing most of the moaning on here aren't even affected by the increase so the obvious conclusion is it's just something else they can say against a management they've never liked.
  4. I doubt it. They'll just remove all traces of the stadium and leave derelict land for however long it takes before the council agree to housing. Would you care to explain why older people are entitled to a concession?
  5. According to Starman he was available and not one club went for him. He knows everything doesn't he so he must be right. Anyway, apologies because I keep forgetting there are two or three unbiased sensible Poole fans.
  6. After riding for Leicester last season Jason will be used to carrying the side unfortunately.
  7. Must be very disheartening to have the match called off after all the hard work. I'd already decided not to go as I didn't fancy another night freezing to death so hopefully when it's re-run the weather will be a bit warmer......but not too warm or I'll be moaning about sun breaks.
  8. I think this might be something new this season so you haven't missed out but make sure you get one now. Elite League season tickets are based on a minimum of 15 meetings to include 14 league matches, the Elite Shield and play-offs subject to qualification. These are priced at £250, and in 2016 season ticket holders will receive a programme.
  9. Well, unfortunately that looks to be the way Speedway is heading and personally it doesn't bother me about seeing the so called top riders anyway as long as the racing is okay. I watch Speedway at all levels and my favourite is probably premier league racing at Peterborough. I'd be more than happy if there was just one big league in future at P.L. level but whether Coventry will ever be part of it remains to be seen.
  10. Well, thanks for the sensible answer. I think Starman is still searching for the list....or more than likely just ignoring a question that he finds difficult to answer like he usually does.
  11. Cheaper than my local track Leicester too across the board. It's only a couple of grumpy OAP's moaning that usually do a lot of moaning on here anyway so it's just something else to add to their list. All the ones I know at Coventry are back again so there has been no boycott by them and they've obviously managed to scrape together the £3 a week extra. Ah......but that wouldn't work out as they'll probably miss a few meetings when they're on holiday.
  12. Yes, I feel like a pack horse with all the things I carry to speedway meetings. Looks like I'll need 2 blankets tonight (if it's on) one to lie on and one to cover her up against the elements.
  13. Well, I'm impressed you know the difference between 'have' and 'of'' but otherwise don't believe he was on any list as available to ride. Do you have a link to this list of riders so I can check and apologise for being wrong?
  14. What does that mean ~ you heard it here? You'll have to try to talk sense so I can understand.
  15. I'd rather see a meeting between two poor teams than a lop sided one and thought there was some good racing with the end result always in doubt. Like I said before I think you must be hard to please. Perhaps it's paying £3 extra that's made you grumpy because I'm sure you're not always that way.
  16. So it's fact that every promoter had access to Rick Frost's asset Buczkowski? Yeah right.
  17. Now there's a thought. Perhaps provide a nice garden seat as well then I needn't lug mine around with me.
  18. Blimey you're hard to please if you think that was a poor meeting.
  19. Yes and how boring it is, unless you are a Poole fan of course, but I suppose their supporters will be happy watching visiting teams struggle to get over 30 points. Personally I prefer a bit of excitement and not a foregone conclusion. For instance tonight's match at Coventry when it was 36-36 after 12 races so the result could go either way. In the end a couple of 4-2's and a 5-1 saw the Bees come out on top after some cracking racing.
  20. It will be steered back when Leicester get a shock win tonight.
  21. Heaven knows in Shawn's world. It seems like we've had the wettest Winter on record in the Midlands and I'm sure it was pretty general all over the UK with lots of flooding.
  22. If you've got time can you nip up to Belle Vue and sort their mess of a track out Glyn? You seem to have made a better job of Leicester than they have managed.
  23. Yes, I suppose strictly speaking you are correct. It was pointed out to me many years ago by 'False dawn' that there are only two bends on a Speedway track and he should know as he's been round them enough times.
  24. I can't be bothered to check the prices at other tracks except my local one but compared to Leicester all the prices are cheaper at Coventry apart from being £2 extra for pensioners. I don't think any other track is using this pricing policy this season but who knows what will happen in the future ~ even next season. Leicester Coventry Adults £18. Adults £17. OAP's £15. OAP's £17. Ages 10 - 16 £5. All children Free. Student £7.50p Student £5.
  25. If someone can't afford an extra £3 then I feel sorry for them. How about planning ahead and putting that amount of money away each week during the close season? That's what I have done. Anyway, I was pleased to see all the pensioners that I know had survived the Winter and were in attendance.
