Can someone post her quote when she replies because I'm afraid I've got her on ignore as all the full stops give me a migraine.

Ah.....now that's strange because that was my first thought but then I deleted my post and tried again. We're not supposed to put pictures on here because of bandwidth but you can always put it elsewhere like Facebook etc., and then give the link to it. -
You've gone and done it now ~ there will be a lot of clicks on that link.

Good. Sensible decision 'cos I can stay in now and watch Corrie. Must be hard being a promoter on days like this ~ try to get the match on like Leicester and then have the few hundred brave souls who have turned up standing around in the cold and wet before calling it off at 8pm, or cancel early enough to stop fans travelling. Thank you Coventry. Now that's a good idea but would there be enough time to organise everything and get the track fit for racing after all the rain that's expected tonight? I wouldn't have thought it would be that simple. Go into My Profile ~ Edit Profile ~ Photo. -

It's a real pleasure to look in on Coventry threads these days. What a load of negative miseries. I think it's more to do with the riders vision so the track doesn't necessarily have to be waterlogged before being called off. Rider power and all that. -
Great detailed post as usual SCB and I'm obviously not going to quote the whole lot but I'm interested in this bit because I thought Kildemand didn't even know Poole had signed him but you say he agreed. Oh yes they do. Even I can remember who were runners up in 2010.

So what is the reliability 48 hours in advance which seems to be the point at which Sky decide whether they're going to turn up or not?

Have a quick wizz through when you've got time. I know there are some of Bruce Penhall in the Superstars event that are in Speedway Photos (One). Also some action ones of Cradley Riders in Black/White Speedway [1]. I've got my settings on public so you should get straight through without being a member on Facebook I think? https://www.facebook.com/janet.hambleton/photos_albums

Leicester V Belle Vue 09.04.16

Typical Speedway weather when it's hard to decide what to do. It doesn't look too bad from this forecast, but it is raining a bit at the moment. https://weather.com/en-GB/weather/hourbyhour/l/Leicester+LCE+United+Kingdom+UKXX0079:1:UK -
Thank you. There are a few albums devoted to Speedway. Just ignore the family ones because they're full of dogs.

Glad you liked them.

Yanks Coming To Cardiff
Gemini replied to r77toy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
If you're staying in Bristol the zoo is always worth a visit. Loved it there, but when we had Jemma with us at Cardiff we always went to Porthcawl on the Sunday before picking up the M4 to drive home. -
I took this photo in 1960 so it must have been built around the middle of that decade then. People say it's run down now but it doesn't look too posh back then ~ look at the state of that grass. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150148050552785&set=a.10150144289657785.323814.550797784&type=3&theater

We used to but not any more because we're all paying the same price this season. I've never been asked to prove I'm an OAP because one look at me will confirm it anyway.
-
Really? That's completely opposite to what we've understood happened ~ that Garrity didn't want to remain in the Fast Track Draft ~ but I presume you know all the details and it was done to save Coventry money.
-
Would there even have been a back straight 'grandstand' 46 years ago? I wasn't a Coventry fan back then so never noticed on my visits when the Lions were riding there.
-
Kennels? She's never been in kennels in her life. She doesn't love Speedway either unless it's on TV. Strange dog ~ all she wants to do is go to sleep on her blanket when it's 'live' but goes mad when it's on the television. Shame it didn't happen whenever we've been there as that would have kept Lucy awake.

Yes, sorry. Just as I read it again and saw you'd said 'gates' my son came to sort my mobility scooter out so I decided to press 'Post' rather than lose the whole lot. Cue an appearance by SCB. Don't believe that anyway myself. At that point in their lives the expensive children have left home (hopefully), the mortgage is all paid for and if necessary there is help available on almost anything.
-
What happens if they're on gates 2 and 4 in the first race? Who says they are? At the moment all that is happening is the student rate is withdrawn and they are contacting the local universities etc. over the next few days in order to look at possible ways forward so the full time student can benefit, which was the original intention not for the promotion to be cheated out of £12 by some fans who think they are clever. Bees haven't a match this week so hopefully things will be clearer by Monday.
