  1. Already? The season has only just started so what's he going to be like in a few months time? I can't see him being around come play off time.
  2. If we're stuck with what we have this season and keep losing I don't think he need worry too much about next year because there won't be many fans left anyway. Looks like it's the beginning of the end and he's given up already.
  3. Yes it was very impressive. I wonder what he did to his bike after his first two pointless rides ~ whatever it was it worked.
  4. So at least 24 then? Okay fair enough. Perhaps I'm fortunate enough to know the more wealthy OAP's who can manage the extra £3 once a fortnight.
  5. Probably, but I don't think we need to worry too much about that as the only way 5000 Speedway fans would be in the stadium these days would be if the GP ever returned. I was just pointing out the space available all the way round the stadium whereas Monmore Green only uses the home straight so it's hard to judge. Perhaps because it still wouldn't work and the riders would have to come up with a different excuse not to ride here? You keep saying that but how many OAP's, apart from yourself, do you truthfully know have stopped going? All the ones I've got to know over the years are still attending.
  6. Interesting you say that as I'm wondering how you can compare the two? One a stadium that can hold over 12,000 spread out all around the track and the other where everyone is squashed in together on the home straight. I'm thinking 500 at Wolverhampton would look a big crowd but I'm obviously wrong so how did you work it out?
  7. I think it was more than a thought as you put it. Perhaps Matt decided to string us along for a bit and then drop the bombshell. He's a little devil isn't he?
  8. Hope it's called off early then to stop the Swindon fans travelling.
  9. I think he's already said that in the Speedway Star.
  10. All on my own on the 3rd bend in this weather? Have a heart. I usually find someone to sit with and annoy on the back straight for the Storm matches.
  11. To be correct there is not £5 off admission on Monday ~ it will be £10 to get in on May 9th with the Storm ticket. He was replying to my post and I understood it perfectly, as you did as well but decided to be awkward as usual. Yes. I've got my knickers in a twist but I won't from now on because you're going on 'Ignore' so I don't get banned. Did you count me and Lucy twice because we were on the back straight not 3/4?
  12. Yes, that was the plan when Daniel Davidsson left Coventry because he was rubbish and signed for Poole who were going to make him feel loved and get the best out of him. Wonder what happened?
  13. Gustix likes your post so that says it all. Personally I find it damn irritating that any past Speedway fan can take delight in knowing there was a small attendance but there you go. Just shows what the person is like. I was there as usual and find it really sad that more people don't attend the Storm matches but that seems to be the trend unfortunately if a team is also in the Elite League. I wouldn't be able to confirm if 50 is right or not because I don't know how many were up in the bar ~ quite a lot if they had any sense because it was yet another cold night with the threat of rain again. No, work it out. It's quite easy as even I can do it.
  14. I know what you mean but actually that's not Coventry's closest geographical rival as Leicester is 10 miles nearer ~ measured from track to track. 38.6 to Wolves and 27 miles to Beaumont Park. Courtesy of AA Route Finder.
  15. 8 laps? It wasn't so long ago that riders couldn't even manage to do a few hundred yards after a false start without going back to the pits to top up fuel and sort their bike out so they'd never manage 8 laps.
  16. Does that mean we'll get to keep a whole ticket this time?
  17. Long Eaton v Middlesbrough back in the 70's? Could have been the 80's because my memory is bad as well, but I was there and the visiting team refused to ride so Long Eaton got maximum points in every boring race.
  18. I seem to remember him being very droll, interacting with the fans on the terraces. Thank goodness I didn't stand out as I would have been embarrassed to be picked on.
  19. Ah it would be Graham Guthrie then ~ I just couldn't remember his name. I used to love going over to Oxford when the Bees were riding there and like you say 'bend 3' was the place to stand. Sadly at some point (can't recall the year) dogs were banned so that was the end of my visits as I didn't fancy the trip over from Leicester on my own.
  20. Are we talking about the 70's here? If so I've always remembered the announcer at Swindon for getting involved with the fans but didn't know what his name was. Love David Hammond's voice. He is at Coventry now of course but if you want to hear him again you'd better visit this season before we close down.
  21. Pardon? I know you understand all about the weather but some of us (me) don't so what on earth does 'diurnal heating receding' mean?
  22. Actually in this case I think it might well affect the Bees attendance as the match is on Sky. Quite a lot of fans attend both tracks but the attraction of recording the Coventry v Wolves match and watching Lions v Poole live might be the plan for some people who live in the Leicester area. Not me though, even though I've renewed my interest in Beaumont Park, I will definitely be at Brandon.
